This animal Care Center was wonderful. I brought my English bulldog in for a UTI and they diagnosed it quickly we're very compassionate and gentle with her and the doctor was amazing as were all of his assistants. You are so fortunate to have such a gym located in spearfish! I was traveling from Montana and they we're so compassionate and caring. Wonderful animal clinic and great with dogs!

We were very satisfied with the staff and facilities.

Took our little nugget Dolce in for a growth on his chest. Turned out to be benign, just red blood cells when she did the fine needle aspirate. But when she listened to his heart she found a heart murmur. She did a full blood work up, chest xray. Turns out his numbers were pretty good and he's on a low dose of heart meds. Definitely recommend this clinic! Came in for one problem and left with a surprise diagnosis.

My worst experience was with my Three Aussies Dyna, Paula, and Blue the day Dr. WHALEN move from Murreita Ca. As a good son and great Vet, Dr. WHALEN moved back home to SD to care for his father. That was around 1998 and sense that time, I've come across many of his patients that felt the same lost, in the care of our pets . The people of Swordfish we feel you are lucky to have our Dr WHALEN, we and I think of you ( Dr. Whalen) and your family often. God bless you. Barry

I've been bringing my cat here for a couple years now and they are great. I'm always in and out with all of my questions answered. The vet is knowledgeable and friendly. Reasonably priced.

Terrible experience. I called to set up an initial appointment and I should have known it was not going to go well when the person who answered the phone never asked for my dog's breed, reason for my visit, or her previous records. I asked her if I should have our old vet email them, which was a complete waste of time since Dr. Whalen, clearly through the questions he was asking me, and then admitted during our appointment, that he NEVER even looked at her file. I paid $52.25 for him to listen to her lungs and heartbeat and tell me they were fine, which was not even the reason why we were there. He explained to me what her current meds were for, which I already knew from the vet that put her on them, then said that he would read her file and call me. That was on TUESDAY and when I hadn't received a call by FRIDAY, I drove back there to get a refund since there were no services performed during our appointment. I was told that the office manager would call me when she got back at 2 o'clock and instead FINALLY (3 DAYS LATER) received a call back from Dr. Whalen explaining that he had been off the two previous days. As a new client who is trying to control her senior dog's disease; it was very clear that he was uninterested in my dog's care or wellbeing or he would have called us back at the end of business on the day of our actual appointment.

They have taken care of our little loves for years. We trust them with our family

Good old fashioned vet care!!

This Vet is TOP NOTCH. People had suggested that we switch from our current vet to these guys, and we were planning on it. But our 12 year old pug had an emergency today, and we called our vet (also in Spearfish) they told us that they could MAYBE get to it tomorrow. What? My dog is in a bad way, I need him seen TODAY. I called this vet, and these guys said “bring him as soon as you can”. They got us right in, took excellent care of our boy, and now they have all of our business. 3 Dogs, 1 Cat. Animal Care Center of Spearfish, thank you for taking care of our boy. You’ve earned us as customers. 5 Star care and service.
