Fast, friendly service. Staff cares and loves our dogs. We will continue to come here. Our dogs live coming here. They get super excited when we pull in to the lot. If that's not a testament to good care I don't know what is.

Ben the owner is awesome! Always so friendly and we are able to get our dog in even on day of. You can tell he really cares about his business. For Christmas he wrote us a handwritten card with a picture of our dog on it! What a nice touch and it was funny!

I have been taking my dog here for 4 years, and have never had any issues. Ben and his staff are very friendly, and know all the dogs and owners by name. Most importantly, my dog always comes home happy and tired!

Ben and his staff are awesome and treat my guys like they are part of his family. All I have to do is say "lets go see Ben" and they're running to the door to go.

We toured the place. Found it clean and without an odor. The only resveration we have is that in the play area they don't have separate areas for big dogs and small dogs

Ben and the staff here are just simply the BEST! The first time we brought our beagle there we got a nice tour and I even received a text with a picture and update. Such a thoughtful and nice touch! We recently used them for a long weekend and our little buddy had a great time. Ben even bathed our dog after he got in some mud! I was able to relax on my vacation knowing that our dog was in safe hands. Thank you guys for being awesome!

Sondra, the groomer is wonderful I heard many many wonderful things about her. I have friends that have their dogs there in the daycare center. I won't go anywhere else to get my dog groomed. I'm a new dog mom never owned a dog. She made my first experience wonderful and she was very insightful and informative I'm teaching me what I needed to know

Very humiliating first experience with Ben the owner. He was rude and didn't seem to care about new business. My dog does play rough but settles in and does fine after initial interaction. Ben allowed my dog 5 minutes to interact with the other dogs and was rejected. The 1 star was not because my dog was rejected but because the owner is a total jerk. Don't know how he stays in business.

The first week we took our dog to Barkin' Up Hickory we had a good experience and our dog came back exhausted. As we continued to go there he was coming home very hyper and we asked what was going on and they said they needed to separate him because he was too hyper. Every time I would pick up I would ask how he was and they would say good/fine. Today I get a phone call saying that we needed to come get him and to not bring him back ever again. They said he is "aggressive" when I went in there to discuss what was going on with our dog I was told he "Nit Picks" other dogs, when I asked what that meant I was told well he was nit picking. I am not sure how a dog can nit pick another dog but okay. The owner Ben then asked me why I was coming at him, I told him I am not coming at you I just want to know what exactly my dog is doing. The only thing he kept saying was nit picking other dogs and he's going to get bit. Mind you my dog is a 1 year old lab mix, so yes he can be hyper sometimes he just needs a reminder to calm down, I understand that. I also had asked several times if we needed to get a trainer involved to help with this behavior and he said well I am not a trainer so I would't know what you need for him. I am very confused and would not recommend this place to anyone. The reason we send our dog to doggie daycare is to burn off some energy he has and this was a terrible experience. And mean while we have been sending him to another place while he was going there and they said he has been nothing but great. Weird that he is fine at the other place and not here. Sounds like pure laziness to me. Oh to the owners response back to this post: I was not confrontational and I never threatened to smear his name I asked for an explanation of what my dog did so I could talk to a trainer and see what can be done about this so called aggression even though the other doggie daycare he is going to doesn't see any of this so called aggression and all the owner could come up with is that he is a nit picker... Still not sure what that is supposed to mean besides he is too lazy to watch a puppy and redirect him. So my dog gets bit and my dog get punished for biting back? Not sure how that works. The owner also laughed in my face when I had asked for an explanation of what my dog was doing. I never said my dog was perfect but I do deserve an explanation of what is going on with my dog, especially when he is going to another place and has no problems. Also I had posted a review on his Facebook page and he has any comments he doesn't like deleted from there to make himself look better.

We have used Barkin' up Hickory for several years for our Boxer. The facility and staff are top notch. We feel very comfortable leaving our dog because we know he will receive great care. Every time we get there our dog can't wait to get inside. It is very comforting knowing there is a place like this to have our dog stay while we are on vacation. Ben is the best and our dog is well cared for each time we drop him off to go on vacation. We've tried a few other places but this is the best by far.

We have been taking our hound mix Freeway to Barkin' Up Hickory for about 3 years and have always had an extremely good experience. Our pup goes once a week to get some social time with other dogs & exercise and always comes home tired from a fun day. We have boarded Freeway a number of times - whether that be overnight, for a weekend away and even a long term stay when out of the country and we always have confidence that he is being well taken care of and happy. Thankful to have Ben & his staff at Barkin' to care for our pup :)

When I called to inquire about day for our fur baby, the lady was very nice and sweet. She explained to us to come in for a tour and see our facility, where your dog would be all day and see the grounds. We thought great! How do we set up a appointment. She said no need just come in and Ben the owner would be happy to show us around. YEAH well that was far from the truth. He didnt do anything, but make us feel like we were interupting him. He rushed us along, but we over looked that and wanted to get our socialized and all we heard about Ben he would do just that as that is his passion. When I dropped my dog off he put our fur baby behind a door and a fence where about 15 dogs were barking like crazy at ours. We asked how he introduces them and what told us, he did no such thing. Our dog was so freaked out and became aggresive, were our dog hasnt been. Our dog was yelping so loud i could hear it as i approached the door to enter. When Ben came to the front he was cold as ice. As he got our dog who clearly was FREAKED out and soaked. Tells me its drool. Ah NO our dog was full urine. He didnt speak to me, he hit our dog on the head stating be good. From the moment I dropped our dog off I didnt feel right. When we got the call to pick our fur baby up my heart sunk as i didnt listen to my guy and he set our dog up to fail. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE AS THE OWNER DIDNT SHOW HIS CARING SIDE, BUT HIS RUDE I DONT CARE SIDE.... funny you see it as attacking. When i spoke to you i owned up and showed concern about the other dog. Ben was not nice and was vegue with me. I just want ppl to see you dont treat all dogs or owners with respect. Ben had no care that my dog was soaked in urine but chose to lie about.
