My dog has not been the same since he was boarded there last November. He's whining differently, a bit more cautious than before. Will not recommend this at all.

My dog is happy, safe, and gets to interact with other dogs!!! He has lots of energy and really needs to play. Interacting with other dogs and running around the playroom is good for his overall mental and physical health!!!

They have a super friendly staff who seems to love our doggies as much as we do. This service is super convenient and their office is very responsive to any questions or issues we have. I highly recommend Dogtopia.

Dog loves going here, starts with a slight tail wag then her whole body moves side to side in excitement. Great place to drop your dog off if/when you can't or don't want to crate them all day.

We love Dogtopia and so does Dot. We originally took Dot there in hopes that it would help with her fear of other dogs. It was our last hope. One meet and greet and she was playing all day with all of the other dogs. I cried tears of joy. Now we take her every Sunday so she can play with her buddies! Thank you Dogtopia for changing all of our lives for the better. We love the staff and the other dogs who play with Dot at Dogtopia! ❤️

Great facility! Awesome staff! I also love that I can watch on the webcams so I can check on my puppies when I’m away!

Update: spoke to a vet whose opinion was that a dog sending another dog to the vet for injuries was not “dogs being dogs” as the Dogtopia owner seemed to think. Additionally, our second dog was just diagnosed with kennel cough which she likely contracted there as Dogtopia sent out an email due to an outbreak there. Original post: Our medium sized elder dog was bitten multiple times by a Mastiff that required vet care during his stay here and the Dogtopia owner’s (Tom) handling of the situation could’ve been better. Overall the staff was great, but there exist some concerns: Tom, the owner, did not apologize once, show concern, or even call to check in. Per a staff member I spoke to, the Mastiff was still there several days later after the incident in open play with other dogs despite causing damage to another dog that required vet care. Additionally, the pet parent agreement appears to be subjective to the Dogtopia owner’s interpretation as it states… “ I am solely responsible for any harm, including to any other dog(s)… caused by my dog(s) while my dog(s) is/are attending Dogtopia of Purcellville.” The way I understand this, as well as an attorney friend who read it, was that the dog owner of the Mastiff should be financially responsible for the vet bill. Reasonable expectation. When my wife asked whether we could get the contact information of the Mastiff’s dog owners to discuss being recompensed for the vet bill the Dogtopia owner refused. And I can understand that for privacy reasons, but then he didn’t offer to pass the vet bill or our contact information though we were willing to have it shared. He also wasn’t willing to share the video but did offer to have us view it in person. I drove there after work and viewed it for myself. After viewing it three times, I concluded it could potentially be dogs being dogs and given the vet bill was on the lower end ($261) decided to drop it. However, it begged the question if I didn’t decide to drop it, as to how liability is enforced if Dogtopia wasn’t willing to pass on the vet bill or our contact info with our permission to the Mastiff’s dog owners. Dogtopia certainly did not offer to cover the expenses or deduct it from the boarding bill. I then proceeded to share my concerns with Tom, the owner. He didn’t have a good answer as the takeaway I got was that the liability clause was subjective. At the end of the day, another dog caused damage to my dog and Dogtopia was unwilling to hold the responsible dog’s owner liable. He made a comment along the lines of, “I’ve dealt with many lawyers,” which was concerning. It may possibly have meant that he was discouraging me from pursuing legal recourse, or that this sort of thing happens a lot where people are forced to get a lawyer. He also got up and walked away from me while I was sharing my concerns about the liability form. Note: The staff handled it great (shout out to Patrick et al). The staff called us immediately the day it happened and were very apologetic, explained that our dog had not been the aggressor, and were very concerned and recommended veterinary care. The staff also separated the dogs as best they could immediately from what I saw in the video. Staff was also very friendly during every interaction. This is more a review of the owner/management and the processes for dealing with an incident such as this.

My dog Rudy and I both love Dogtopia. Rudy loves the people that work with him and all his new doggie friends. I love the great care they give my dog and know that he is playing and having fun while I'm at work and not bored or lonely. Definitely a great place for doggie daycare.

We love Dogtopia so much. Our one year old pupper has been going there pretty much weekly since we got her. She tries to sneak into the car every time we open the door so she can go. When we say “go play with friends?”, she knows exactly what we mean. She is all tail wags for the coaches, even sneaking behind the desk so she can give kisses to everyone. Tom is like a second dog dad to her. When we have to go out of town we know she is happy boarding there with her friends. Their grooming fees are reasonable and it is a nice bonus to get that done occasionally after a day of play. Note: Our old dog isn’t as big of a fan. She gets a little overwhelmed and would rather just chill under a desk somewhere.

I absolutely LOVE Dogtopia of Purcellville! First off, my Husky Mix 7 month old Pup is always happy when she walks in the door. She knows she is going to see her furry friends and get to have a blast with them. She has such a great time and always comes home calm and tired from a good days exercise. They have special event days that are fun for staff, dogs, and the pet parents. Oakley (my dog) recently had her picture taken on their Marvel Superhero Photo Day, when I got her picture it melted my heart because of all the cuteness. I know Oakley has a great time while at daycare because I’m able to check in on her throughout the day via their webcams and every time I look she is running around with another pup or following the trainer around the room. Which leads me to their staff…the staff at Dogtopia is amazing, kind, and knowledgeable. They really care about your dog’s wellbeing, able to answer questions the pet parents have, and are overall amazing to their customers. Now I know there are some reviews that speak poorly of this location’s owner, Tom, but today I can honestly say that he is just as amazing as the rest of his staff. Oakley came home from daycare last night and wouldn’t stop licking at her paws. Today I noticed she had (what looked like) cuts on her paw pads. I immediately called Dogtopia thinking it was something that happened while she was at daycare. Pat (customer manager) was amazing and assured me they would look through the camera footage and notes from yesterday since I suspected that maybe she was anxious in her crate during lunch/naptime and hurt her paws while in there care. I sent them an email with Oakley’s paw pictures attached and Tom responded within an hour or so reassuring me that there was nothing amiss on the cameras, Oakley was calm in her crate, and he inspected the playroom for anything sharp that could have caused this injury. He also provided great advice on temporary care and recommended taking her to the vet. Of course I had already scheduled her to go see her vet once I saw her paws’ condition and come to find out she had blisters on her paws that most likely burst while she was having fun at daycare yesterday which is why I didn’t notice it until she came home. Long story short…too late, I know, this Dogtopia Location is amazing and if you are looking for a great place to let your dog burn off steam or have a safe place to play while you are at work…look no further! Thank you again Dogtopia!

First, I want to say that Pat and other staff were amazing throughout our experience with Dogtopia Purcellville. This review is about the owner of the business and his customer service skills, not the establishment itself. Our dog was involved in what Dogtopia calls a “scuffle” with another dog. Our dog got involved in a situation he shouldn’t have, the other dog misread him, and scuffle ensued. Our dog ended up with multiple superficial wounds to his face as well as one that probably needed a stitch. As he’s older, the emergency vet just wanted to watch it instead of sedating him to stitch it. Pat notified us immediately when it happened. He sent photos, answered my questions, and told me that Tom, the owner, would follow up with me the next day to address my questions about further follow up with the other pet’s owners. I never heard from the owner. Three days later I called to give Dogtopia staff an update on our dog and to see if there had been any follow up with the other dog’s owners. I had requested their contact information in order to ask them if they would consider paying our dog’s vet bill. I also volunteered to have our contact information given to the other dog’s owners so they could contact us if they were interested in paying. Additionally, if Dogtopia didn’t want to give out ANY information to either side, I had requested Dogtopia broach the subject with the other dog’s owners. Tom, the owner, told me 1. They wouldn’t give out any information to allow me to contact the other dog’s owners 2. That the other owners didn’t make any such offer to pay 3. Proceeded to give me a lecture about dog behavior. I found my whole interaction with the owner unsatisfying. I felt as though he blew over the whole incident as nothing. I explained to him that I have had a dog my entire life and understand dog behavior. Stuff happens. However, if my dog injured another dog, I would immediately offer to pay for the vet bill. In addition, when I questioned the owner about the liability release that states “I am solely responsible for any harm, including to other dog(s)…” he had no good answer. Actually, he didn’t answer me at all except to say the other pet parents had indeed signed the same liability release. Bottom line: staff was great even when dealing with an unfortunate incident. Owner has terrible customer service skills and did not go out of his way to make the situation better.

One of the best places we have found for our hounds. On the expensive side, but we’ll worth it.

Friendly attitude toward me plus loving attitude and actions toward my dogs! I could see right away from the staff's actions that they really cared about dogs and from the dogs' reactions that they were happy to be there.

Dogtopia in Purcellville is perfection. My puppy, Lola LOVES it there. They have everything a pup parent could ask for. A loving and caring staff, pup centered activities and an impeccably clean facility where you can relax, because they take care of your pup like they are their own. You can watch all the fun on live video feed through their app. Their own staff has their pups there. Run, and enroll before they fill up. I feel extremely lucky that my Lola is quickly becoming a regular.

This is a great spot to let your dog play and burn off energy safely. My girl come home and sleeps for a good long time after playing with her dog friends all day. I don’t have the personal time or energy to give her the amount of exercise that she gets here … plus it’s great for dog socialization. (My girl is in the older puppy stage)

Our dogs can’t get out of the house fast enough to go to Dogtopia Purcellville. They love the friendly staff and the fun atmosphere here. The facility is always clean and the staff is very friendly and truly care about the dogs. Best of all I get to watch all the fun my dogs have on the webcams.

My dog absolutely loves it there. I’m expecting a new baby in October and it makes me feel so happy that he will have somewhere to go, have fun, and get his energy out while we are getting into a new routine! Additionally, my toddler loves to watch her best friend on the webcam at “school”. It’s so sweet!

Our dog loves going there. The days he can’t go he waits at the front door for us to take him. He gets his energy out which is huge. Plus they have a great dog trainer who has helped him with so many skills. Highly recommend.

From the first phone call, you can hear the warm dog-love oozing from the staff. When I went to check the place out, the staff was just as friendly in person, showed my puppy immediate attention and affection, and were encouraging and smiling with genuine joy and happiness. It truly did feel like a "dogtopia" :) and since the first day, the staff is consistently the same and not just a first-day ploy to get the dog enrolled. When we arrive with our pup, the staff warmly come out behind the front desk to greet or help her enter, they welcome her with love and care, and they constantly reassure me that my pet will be fine. And when we pick her up, we get a quick report of how she did with more reassurance and excitement to see and have our pet visit again. I am speaking specifically about the staff at the Purcellville, Virginia location. And so far the treatment is the same from daytime to afternoon to weekend people. It's a sheer joy to be part of the Dogtopia community and such a convenient and helpful service to our pup and to our family.
