Great vet and staff I trust them

Responsive, reasonable, and humane. They put our pets health first and foremost without the frill and expense of ‘city’ clinics. Truly a gem of a place and they’re in it for the right reasons.

Appointment was quick. The doctor took great care of our dog and was very informative. She got her vaccines and everything went well.

We have been taking are family members (pets) there for almost 20 years. They may seem like they’re rude (to people only) but they’re not. It’s just that they absolutely love the animals and will take care of them. After a while, they’ll warm up to you too. The guy makes some great hot sauce as well. I guess they warmed up to me. Lol.

First time going there with my dog. The staff was very nice and treated my dog with tender loving care . I made kernick my new vet.

Always excellent care by a highly intelligent veterinarian and a very caring staff.

How is this place even open? Went there with my sick cat and it looked like it was from 1920 and no doctor was there. The girl who eventually came to the door was so rude. They need shut down.

First time using this facility, but I think they're on spot for services rendered and animal diagnosis.

I use kernicks animal hospital and I have never had an issue he took wonderful care of my chihuahua and wonderful care of my pitbull. He was nice to my young son when we had to leave our chihuahua for dental work he put my son's mind at ease. I would recommend him to anyone. I believe whole hearted that kernicks legitimately cares for the animals and is more personal than big chain vets and way better prices and he is straight to the point and doesn't do anything that isn't medically necessary.i give kernicks 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Very nice place Should call before you go. My dog has been there for a bout 10 years and doing very well. Never had a problem And would recommend to anybody.

I have been a client of Dr. Messenger’s since he opened his practice. He is knowledgeable, caring and doesn’t advocate unrealistic treatments. He has treated all of my dogs and cats. He’s been very compassionate at the times when we needed to face the end of our dear pet’s life. I highly recommend him.

I had a very sick cat and needed to have him seen. I called my current vet and they couldn't get us in until the following week. I called another vet near me and they couldn't get me in until the next day. I looked up vets near me and saw Kernicks. I took my dogs to him years ago and didn't realize he was still open. I called Kernicks and they got me in immediately. Turns out I had to have my cat put down. I am so grateful for everyone at Kernicks for not only getting us in on such short notice but were incredibly kind. I highly recommend Kernicks to any pet owner.

Dr. Messenger is my Dad. When I was little my mom and dad owned Jefferson Veterinary Hospital. After they divorced my mother kept the clinic and my dad opened up another hospital in Connellsville at the time. Our cat was hit by a car. My mother took him to her clinic and the veterinarian there at the time said there was nothing he could do he was going to have to amputate. We took her to my dad for a second opinion. My father operated on her leg and afterwards, when her leg was healed, she had a small pink scar and did not even walk with a limp. She could run and play and hunt and do all the things kitties love to do without pain. The only thing different about her was that she would not jump down from anything higher than maybe say a countertop......I am not just writing this review because he is my father although he is also a great dad I am writing this review because my dad is an amazing veterinarian and an honest and fair man who has integrity and will not tell you that your pets need things that they don’t really need in order to make an extra dime. I have always taken all of my pets to my dad because I trust my dad 100% not just with my pets but I would trust him with ANYONE’S pets the same as I trust him with my own because he puts the same level of care into every pet that comes into his office whether they be my pets, his own pets, or the pets of his clients

Dr. Messenger and his staff are extremely rude and lack compassion. We brought our dying dog to see him. When I walked in none of his staff could even be bothered to say a simple “hello.” They refused to address any of the presenting concerns and actually sent him home and told my significant other that “he was not ready to be put down.” The moment we came home our little boy threw up and had a seizure. He can not stand on his own to even use the bathroom. We made an appointment with Lap of Love. If you love your pets like children PLEASE STEER CLEAR of Dr. Messenger!!

Avoid Kernick like the plaque if you want nice bedside manner and quality care for cats. Dr. Blaine Messenger, the sole vet at the practice, was nice with my dog on my first ever visit. I returned weeks later with my cat, and Dr. Blaine acted differently...more abrupt, almost abrasive and rude. My first discomfort was when the tech asked me to back away from the exam table while Dr. Blaine examined my cat in front of me. My cat is sweet and normally friendly at vet offices. My cat sensed this vet's energy and my cat became unusually nervous. Then Dr. Blaine took my cat to the back room for a simple blood draw. A couple minutes later, Dr. Blaine opened the door and told me that he was having trouble drawing blood and was going to have to shave my cat's fur to get blood. He didn't ask me. He told me. He then closed the door again and proceeded to shave my cat without my acknowledgment or permission. This vet upset my cat and me. It was outrageous. Yes, the process are cheap. Apparently you get what you pay for.

I love this place. Dr. Messenger loves his patients and shows it Been going there for over 30 years.

I have used Dr. Messenger for my pets Since I was a teenager. He is a Phenomenal Vet who is very smart and really knows his stuff. Highly recommend him for any of your Animals!An Old school Veterinarian whom has More experience than most Vets around and is super honest with NO BS ! His prices are super reasonable and wont break the Bank. His Staff are super kind and laid back just him! They are P henomenal at best. I travel out of my way just to bring him my pup!
