This is a truly professional, compassionate, caring group of individuals. They went above and beyond for our sweet kitty, Fauna, and I cannot begin to describe how thankful we are for their services.

VETSS Doctor and staff were amazing! We had a sick kitty and had been calling around for what seemed like forever. Every emergency vet told us it would be a 4-6hr wait. I called VETSS and they were able to see her within the hour. In total with drive and everything it was less than 4 hrs! (we live an hour and 30 minutes away!) They were quick, honest, caring and truly seem to be concerned for your pet! I would HIGHLY recommend VETSS!

I had to lay my furry friend to rest today. The vet and staff were so compassionate and genuine. They were there for us every step of the way. I highly recommend them. Thank you to all the staff for your kind words and assistance.

This place is awful! The staff is very misleading and will tell you a lie quickly. My dog was there and they tell.you one thing and then do another. They do not communicate with the customer at all like they should and then when you talk to the manager she of course backs them. Wow! Please if you need am emergency vet do not go here please go to Greenbriar Emergency Vet they are way better and much nicer.

I'm extremely happy I found this place and the treatment(s) they provide for my pets. Not only having the availability for me to bring them in, but also being able to diagnose their issues they may have. Thank you vetts. I more than highly recommend you take your pet(s) to this place.

I cannot say enough about this wonderful place! They were able to get my cat in even though they were busy. The doctor kept me informed with everything going on and the prices are very reasonable! My cat is now back to eating and acting like her normal self again.

My Syrian hamster, Ace got into a awful situation and we took him to the closest vet immediately. Within 5 minutes the vet came out and quickly took Ace in. We are so thankful and Ace is doing great thanks to VETSS help! Thank you so much! :) In May Ace was very off and wasn't looking or feeling well. We took him here again and his teeth were over grown. They put him under anesthesia to clip them. When we checked on him later he was a bit cold and in a sleep. Sadly, he passed about 3-4 hours later. VETSS did everything they could, but Ace is in a better place. Thank you for giving him a peaceful state to pass...

I am not normally one to leave bad reviews, but I don’t want to see other pet owners experience anything like we did. 10/10 do NOT recommend this establishment. Our dog started to have a slight cough on Wednesday, which later turned to awful hacking, little appetite, and wasn't really drinking. Upon arrival on Saturday, the first thing I expressed was that it seemed like kennel cough. He attends doggie daycare once or twice a week, so it didn’t seem that far out of the realm of possibility. I also mentioned that we had an older dog and I was concerned about him getting is as well. As background information, I included that the older dog had an upset stomach earlier in the week. I mentioned this in the manner of questioning whether or not the two could be related and if I needed to worry about the older dog. I also was very clear in saying that Apollo was not experiencing the same stomach issues - actually the opposite. I again tried to express the concern was for the cough…. However, Dr. Oliver apparently decided, and I quote, “Apollo wouldn’t possibly have kennel cough because he had been administered the vaccine” and focused on the fact that the other dog had experienced diarrhea earlier in the week. I was assured that his lungs were clear, he had been given a shot for inflammation (they felt he was gassy), and prescribed him an antibiotic for GI issues?? I was then told to wait several days and if the cough wasn’t better later in the upcoming week, to give them a call back. Roughly 48 hours later Apollo is no longer eating/drinking, is lethargic, continuing to hack and his breathing was quite concerning. Upon calling VETSS to ask if he should be brought back in and expressing my worry for what was going on, the woman I spoke with just continued to say “well you know your dog better than we do”. We decided to take him to the emergency veterinary office in Verona. Here we discovered that Apollo had a fever of a little over 104, needed to be started on IV’s immediately, and was admitted overnight. The following day we took him to Harrisonburg Animal Hospital where he remained on IV’s and we were told that based off of his blood work and scans; he indeed did have kennel cough, which progressed to pneumonia and his left lung was almost fully COLLAPSED. Had I waited “several days”, our dog could have died. I called VETSS multiple times (sometimes more than once a day) from Monday until Thursday trying to discuss the situation with management. It took me telling reception that I didn’t really want to give her my name because the manager was clearly avoiding my calls, to finally receive a call from Mrs. Blosser. After her “investigation” she was extremely rude in that she wouldn’t let me comment on anything she was saying, and then found it appropriate to interrupt and talk over me. But, she informed me that Dr. Oliver made the right call based off of my provided information of THE OTHER DOG’S GI issues. I was also told Dr. Oliver’s notes stated that I were to call back in a day or two, but when I informed Mrs. Blosser that I was actually told “several days” and “in the following week” her response to me was “Well I’m sorry that’s what you heard, but”, as if to say I’m imagining what conversation actually took place. Clearly I care about my dog’s well being and am going to pay very close attention to instructions from the veterinarian. I too run a business and have never carried myself in such a poor manner in a conversation with a customer. There was no apology for what happened to Apollo or empathy from her, only disrespect about the situation and there certainly no mention of refunding the money that we wasted there. We tried to be proactive in caring for our pet, trusted this establishment to FULLY investigate what was going on, and listen to our concerns. Instead, we received the wrong treatment, ended up in a worse situation and received an entirely unprofessional response from management. If your pet has an emergency situation and you want to see them taken care of appropriately, this is not the place to go.

If you care about the outcome of your pet more than the cost, bring it here. My 8 y/o daughter spun in circles of joy when she got the news that the high risk procedure for her dwarf hamster was a resounding success. I got the impression that the staff had genuine adoration for the little guy. The good news made our Easter the best yet.

Recently took our family Bearded Dragon for an Emergency Visit. The staff I spoke to were all very nice, knowledgeable, friendly and attentive to our beardie. The Tech was extremely knowledgeable and even had a beardie of her own, she gave me some tips and we shared experiences. The Vet was very sweet and definitely made sure I understood how to care for the injury our boy had, and handled him with extreme care. I will definitely be bringing all of our animals to VETSS for any future appointments.

VETSS is absolutely amazing! Ryan McKenna is a wonderful vet who did such a great job on my dog Vader. I would recommend them to anyone, the whole staff is caring and really lets you know that your animal is their top priority.

My daughter and I came home after a weekend in DC, the dog sitter said my beagle (one of them) was tucking his tail and panting. I google who is open on a Sunday, thankfully they are, they made time to see him that day. One they take great COVID precautions, two, the doctor called me every step of the way, let me know cost for each measure, and were so caring. Turned out my boy pulled something in his hip, two days of meds and he was back to normal. They’re now my primary for all three of my boys. They’re so much more affordable than 3 of the vets closest to me. It’s a good 40min drive for me but it’s absolutely worth it to have such caring professionals, the fact that they’re reasonably priced is a darn good bonus :)

I had to take my 3 month old puppy in last week due to him retching consistently, extremely soft stool, lethargic and shivering. I was so concerned and scared because I didn’t know why he was suddenly severely sick. Molly was so comforting on the phone and helped me in various ways. From her soothing tone to being my nighttime navigator. Dr. McKenna was extremely patient and took his time to explain everything to me. He outlined the cost of items, what my options were, and what to look for if he should get worse. The nurses were exceptional as well. They listened to all my concerns and conveyed my fears to the doctor. I could not have asked for better care during my puppy’s time of need. Some may seem him as a pet but he’s an integral member of my family and everyone here treated him that way! I’m truly thankful to each & every one of them for helping JoJo get better!

Cannot recommend this place enough in times of need for your animal. Fairly priced and excellent service! Took great care of my pup all while putting a worried dog mom at ease!

Don't come. They gave me a empty box of med pills and didn't believe me on the phone. No pills were inside the box and the person on the phone thinks I was lying. The staff gave me three EMPTY packages of pills and promised me that if there was really no pills inside they would refund me. So I drove all the way there for showing them an empty box and the trash of the packages (b/c they told me on the phone to use scissors to cut it). When they saw the trash of the empty package they said "we don't deliver things like this" "Looks like you've used them" ---- I was furious and frustrated b/c no one believe that the technician really made a mistake yesterday. They refused to refund me, just giving me another new package of med. This communication ruined my trust, on top of all the frustrations for waiting for their one simple call-back for the whole night (which they promised me for multiple times that they will call back). What they said yesterday was just so inconsistent with today. Human err, and they could have simply apologize for that mistake and then give me a new one, not insulting at a heartbroken cat mom over the phone and in person (No one trusted me what truth I saw and said). I will never come here again. I am telling all my pet owner friends in town to not come here no matter how urgent you are. They will just make your already-very-bad day even worse, which is not helping at all. They charged me $38 for that empty med box, which is sold $10 online (which I later checked on the Internet).

Not kind or helpful. After a conversation with a doctor about her initial guess as to the cause of my dogs sudden illness, my questions were answered vaguely. "Some kind of poisoning" I was told. A "quick bood test"s was not done until an hour and a half later and it seemed inconclusive. When I inquired about it I was only told they can't test for everything. I asked if she was still drinking and eating, they replied they hadn't tried that and it wouldn't help. I understand they wanted to give the best treatment for my dog but for $2,400, I needed to make informed decisions that were best for my family. I felt that my questions were not welcomed. After they had her for over two hours they finally administered charcoal and gave her a hydration pack. My best guess was that she wasn't as critical as they were telling me because typically that treatment needs to be done extremely promptly or it doesn't help. I sighned a waiver, paid $500 and brought her and enough stress to fill a lake home. She was fine the next day. There's better pet hospitals in the area.

They got my dog in same day. They were very affordable compared to others I've used in the past. Very professional and compassionate. They are my new go to for emergency services.

This place is amazing. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the staff and the care that they provided for my 16 year old cat. We took her there in the middle of the night under very scary circumstances and not only did they take great care of her, they were responsive, understanding and compassionate. We ended up bringing her back several times because we felt so comfortable with the level of care they had provided. I would STRONGLY recommend them and feel that they care for animals as if they were their own. Thank you so much to each and every staff member, what a great team.

Our guinea pig became sick and wasn't doing well. We called Vetss and they were so nice and made an appointment for our guinea pig right away. Took the time to ask us question about her. I was so pleased with the service. Everybody we spoke to was polite and knowledgeable. If you are looking for folks that care this is the spot.

This Dr. recommended to put my dog down after his 1st siezure. I payed full price for the very short visit and made another appointment with another local Vet office. The next veterinary office was able to prescribe him meds that worked immediatly in the event of a siezure and determined he may possibly have Hypoglycemia which is treatable. He has been thriving for a month now. I'd pay for a 2nd opinion whenever dealing with this veterinary office.

I highly recommend VETSS. I drove an hour to get here because it was recommended by my vet. The vets here are so kind and they discuss all of your options for treatment in full depth and they always answer any questions you have regardless of how important or not. I really do appreciate what these vets did for me and if you can take your animal here I would. Thank you to all of the vets that cared for my kitten over the night.

I have only ever had excellent service. Competent compassionate care. At a reasonable price and available 24/7. You always have your emergency with your pet on a Sunday night of course. I feel that I can trust the vet recommendations and they really listen to you.

This is a wonderfully caring and professional Animal Hospital. I came here late at night to let my dog Deuce peacefully pass away since he was having seizures and they were occurring closer and closer together. I called ahead to make an appointment (while crying that I had to put him down) and the receptionist Jessica was so patient and kind and helped me out during this difficult time. She knew what to prep for before hand to give me more time with my dog in his final moments. When I got there, she was at the door and ushered me in and had treats ready for my dog in case he wanted any. Which he did. Once we got into our private room, a vet tech who I’m not sure of her name, gingerly took my beagle and brought him to get his IV in. He had another seizure and was brought out with another vet tech who was so kind and explained everything that had happened to him and what will happen. They gave us more time with him until we were ready and they got the vet for us, who explained what she was going to do and waited for us to give the signal. She left the room after he passed to give us even more precious time with him. We got him privately cremated and when I went to pick his box up, they were all again just so kind and patient and understanding. 10/10, this is a caring and professional place to bring your pets, and it shows that they care about your animals more than most.

Amazing hours and availability, well staffed, good results. Especially when needed on short notice and my usual vet is booked up. I recommend them. Thank you, VETSS! Also if they seem a little rushed and don't reply to communications right away, I think we need to realize that perhaps all veterinarians are overwhelmed with so many more people having pets because so many more of us stay at home these days. Also, please drop the Purina "ProPlan" line of food; wasted my time on their website but they don't actually SELL you the stuff - I tried - added it to my cart and created an account, but no luck! Hills Science Diet or somebody reputable must have a similar product.

On Sunday, Jan 19, 2020 my son and I rushed an 8 day old pup to you. Lady at front didn't hesitate taking her. Though it was too late. All staff was great and helpful. Thank you so much.

Very appreciative of the care they took of my young adults' puppy. They were friendly and kind to the worried young parents as well. They were helpful in walking them through the process of emergency care and fees/payment. They reassured them that they could call to check on Fern at anytime. When they did call, the receptionist/tech/nurse/doctor all answered any questions and weren't in a rush to get off the phone. Hopefully there are no more emergency needs but we would definitely use them again and recommend them. What a blessing to have such a place in our area!

The vet there gave us empty medicine package. Nothing inside. Our cat actually get worse after we bring her to this vet. The running eye turn into red puffy eye.
