Wanted to adopt the puppy named Brody ( WHO IS STILL SITTING IN A CAGE BECAUSE THEY DEAMED US UNFIT) They said that we couldn't have him because we did not have a primary vet for our cats.. First of all our one cat has never had a reason to go to the vet but however she is up to date on her important shots and the other cat we adopted from Freedom hearts rescue and she is up to date on all her shots and has never had a reason to go to the vet.. if our cats have a reason to go to the vet then we would have a primary vet and if we would have been allowed to adopt Brody then we would have got a primary vet. We spoil our cats they even get bottled water but they would not allow that puppy to have a good life shame on them

They think dogs are more important than people. They treated us like we were to dumb to know what dog was best for us. We are state licensed foster parents but we aren’t qualified to adopt one of their dogs????

Friendly staff and beautiful environment! We adopted our pup at 3 months old and he is the sweets little thing even now at 10 months! The adoption process took less then a week and it was a smooth transition for our pup. Our boys love Kylo and he sure loves us!

Tried to call about dropping off and animal and the lady over the phone was very rude and would not let me speak, I was interrupted multiple times and her customer service was all around hateful.

We put our application in online. I went in to look around . We did know which animal we wanted to help . Her name is Heidi she is a Great Dane. Heidi wants you to make a promise. And, she wants you to really think about it before you shake her paw on it. You see, she spent the first two years of her life at the end of a chain with only the occasional table scrap to keep her alive. It was a seemingly endless cycle of days turning into nights in harsh weather without the slightest amount of love and care. She arrived in a severely emaciated condition weighing only 67 LBS. (Typical female adult Great Danes weigh well over 110 LBS) It wasn’t the size of her body which kept her alive it was the size of her heart. Sheer determination and will to live got her to Briggs and on the road to recovery. She has slowly gained over 25 lbs in the past few months with us and still has more to go. With an increase in health Heidi’s personality has blossomed! She is friendly, energetic, playful and still has that big heart to win you over too. Heidi is ready to start life 2.0 with the right family and cannot wait to live the life she should have from the start. You should be patient, kind, loving and willing to help her learn all the things she missed out on so far. It’s a long list of things to catch up on but imagine the bond you will build together and the fun you will have! Heidi will need to continue a special veterinary diet at home in order to help her properly digest her food and maintain a healthy weight. Our Veterinarian has her on a strict diet of the following: Purina Pro Plan Veterinary Diets HA Hydrolyzed Vegetarian Formula Dry Dog Food PANCREZYME® Powder Potential adopters should consider the costs associated with supporting Heidi’s special dietary needs as they are of utmost importance to her health. So are you ready to make a promise to Heidi to give her unconditional love, a healthy veterinary diet and a forever home? Heidi has her paw out and she is ready to shake on it so fill out that application today! No where on here does it say she can not be around other animal's. Now the person who I talked with did say she would ask . However one would think if that was the case it would be on the page like every other animal! We just wanted to help this Girl have the best life possible. #peta needs to look into them are they really looking out for the animals or just the $$$$

Props for being a no-kill shelter, but their COVID guidelines are ridiculous.

Great facilities for adopting a pet. They are very thorough in their process to ensure each animal goes to the best possible fit for the family/person adopting. Highly recommend this agency if your looking for a great new family member!

Everyone was nice and friendly. We wanted to adopt a “special needs” dog. She is currently still up for adoption and has been there almost two months. I waited to see if anyone would take her and she was still up there, all her siblings were adopted out as they were not special needs. Was so excited to see her and we were disqualified because our current dog wasn’t neutered. Very very sad and frustrating as she is still up for adoption and we would love to have her ????

Started an adoption several weeks ago and was told that our current needed his rabies updated so after a couple of weeks to wait because of backups at the vet we got him updated. So started calling saying everything was up to date and the dog we wanted was still on the website as available then after 3 days they called and said we were good to adopt but that the dog was gone to another person who adopted a sibling but they day I started calling was still up for adoption and we started our adoption long before the other person got the sibling. So absolutely shows favoritism, I mean absolutely shows it and she pretend like this was the first she had heard from me.WOW downright disrespect. I would say this place is probably run by our current president as it shows disrespect. VERY GOOD LUCK WITH THIS PLACE !! HORRIBLE

If you are looking to add a new furry member to your family, then I HIGHLY recommend adopting from the Briggs Animal Adoption Center. I am never one to write reviews; however, my experience in adopting my new little kitten Archie (formerly "Snuffles") deserves to be shared. First, the facilities were wonderful--extremely clean, a lot of space, and such friendly staff members that were there and happy to help with a big smile every step of the way. One of the biggest things that stood out to me was how they had a designated kitten room, which was right beside an even larger adult cat room (which had indoor and enclosed outdoor space) with not a single cage in sight! The kittens and cats weren't kept in metal cages or small spaces--they were all happily mingling and playing with each other, and the volunteers/staff--with plenty of room to run around and have a high quality life while waiting to be adopted. After arriving, I was asked to fill out fairly detailed and extensive application paperwork which, again, was a positive. The paperwork and staff both emphasized, multiple times, that their priority is to make sure each animal is matched with the family that is best suited for the animal. And I think that is a really amazing policy and speaks volumes about how much they care and put the animals and their wellbeing first! After completing the application, a wonderful staff member named Sylvia met me and reviewed my paperwork to ask any clarifying questions. She was so kind and thorough, while also being extremely knowledgeable in answering any/all questions I had. Sylvia then took me back to the "kitten room" where I got to play with some of the sweetest kittens I've ever met--all of them were so friendly and socialized. Sylvia explained that Archie and his siblings were rescued from a high-kill shelter and fostered until old enough to adopt. It is clear that their foster did an incredible job raising and socializing all six kittens in his litter as they were all the sweetest and so playful. If you can't tell by this point, I just really had an all around fantastic experience and really do hope that you heed my advice and adopt from Briggs. Sylvia and all the other staff members--thank you for everything you did to unite little Archie and myself! He is honestly the sweetest little nugget of love that just snuggles and purrs all day long! I am so grateful for you and your organization and have, and will continue, to recommend it to anyone I know that is looking to adopt in the area! Sending my love and gratitude! Matt

Briggs truly wants what's best for the dogs. The process they have in place not only makes sure its a good match for the dog but also for your family. Everyone was always super helpful and professional. Thanks for our new family member!

I love how they made a place for all the cats and kittens to play and use as visitors can come in and play with the animals. They're is one problem at seems they have this guy that comes in with his daughter happened to know everything that's going on. He knows about the kittens. But, his young daughter is to ruff in holding a kitten if it doesn't sit she grabs to hard in the back of there head slams it right in her lap till it lays and can't move. The kittens you want to hold the man has at least 3 with him and sits there like want's up. I would like to see those kittens. I was there for a hour. Waiting for him to put them down so I can play look them over and the little kids to were waiting. I don't like is everytime I see a new kitten on line and won't to visit. Guess who the same man and daughter is there. I like the place it is so clean.

After looking over previous negative reviews it’s no wonder that those unhappy people were not able to adopt a dog from this facility. At most rescues the animals and their well-being is the first priority to those that work there. This facility makes no exception to the care of their animals. They are always upfront about the history and temperament of the dogs and cats. This means sometimes you will hear a no that they do not do well with kids or other animals. In this case they are not only looking out for the dogs at their facility but also looking out for your current animals and children. A lot of rescue dogs have come from difficult and traumatic situations. These employees have compassion for the animals in their care and have spent more time with them than those who are only strolling through for 10 minutes and know nothing of that animals history. You only see a dog that looks cute etc. and aren’t considering it’s well-being but only thinking of what you want. Also when making comments that the staff cares more about animals than people, its true they do care more for the animals because that is there job. If you do not like their process there are hundreds of other dogs and cats in need of homes at your local spca that will let you adopt same day. Making asinine reviews on google because you didn’t get what you wanted, acting like a child, only reaffirms that you are the one in the wrong. GOOD RIDDANCE!!!

I got my very sweet beagle mix Marina here when she was 18 months old. I got to keep her for 13 years until she passed of old age at 14 1/2 years old. I still miss her.

Visited a few weeks ago after deciding to get my family a dog. We have several acres of land and my kids (5 and 7) have been begging for a dog to play with for a while now. Upon arrival, was told that the dog we wanted was not available to us, as we also already have a cat. OK, sad, but no problem, we walked through the shelter and enquired about 10 or so other dogs of various breeds and ages. Every time it was a firm no for either kids or cat (or both). Got a little frustrated, but put in an application and we were told they would find a dog that fit. Have never heard from them again. Shame that you have to get a dog from a breeder when so many others need homes. Guess they don't really care about their animals as much as they claim to.

The staff take great care of the pets here. Very impressed. They know the pets history. Visited the cat room, which is huge, clean, has lots of toys, beds, & many levels for cats to walk on & tuck into. Enjoyed the visit.

This is one of the worst animal shelters I have ever dealt with.Extrmely rude and ill mannered people working there! I would never recommend them ,I feel so bad for the animals trying to be adopted but can't be because of the poor staff.
