The front desk workers are great and friendly but a particular vet here as no customer service or lack of awareness. I brought our staffy in for a prescription refill for heartworm and flea/tick meds. We checked in at 8:30am before anyone. Being that our dog is a rescue and has some behavioral issues being around other dogs is quite difficult in public. The vet came out from her office around 8:45-8:50am to do a run through of the visit unaware of our purpose. I believe the vets name was Maya. By then a few other dogs came in to check in. She didn’t realize that our dog was jumping around to approach other dogs, struggling, and she didn’t take the proactive approach of offering an empty patient room for our dog to wait isolated. She then took the tough stance with the heartworm prescription meds because we had a different vet before coming here. She called our old vet who said she had her heartworm test in July 2021. She also received emailed documentation of our dogs medical history, and I provided an even more detailed medical history indicating the prescription was there. She said she can’t take word of mouth and needed to do another ANNUAL heart worm test blood draw 5 months from the previous. I said no, and she continued to write up some referral program and had me wait for some unnecessary email about who knows what. In our experience if another doctor or vet confirms a test was done over the phone it’s verified. Why not do the due diligence of asking for what you need when we made the appointment 3 weeks prior. We left around 9:30 with nothing accomplished. I understand protocol and safety, but to get verification by another vet isn’t enough? You’re in the wrong field. Thanks for making it easier for us to stick with our old vet 30 min further away.

I’ve been having doubts on Banfield, cause every time they seem to not be able to address my dog’s health issue properly, I ended up taking her to another vet clinic every time after Banfield could not make her feel better. So I feel like the monthly payment to Banfield is kinda pointless. Since the pandemic and the drop-off only policy, things just reach a new level of worst. We dropped my dog off at this location for an annual comprehensive. First of all, I booked the appt monthly ago, because she’s due for her vaccination. But when I called a day prior to the appt, they claimed that my appt was canceled while I definitely didn’t do that and didn’t receive any notification. Luckily they still managed to take her in that day. At the day of the appt, we dropped her off at 8:30 am, in the afternoon we received a call saying she will be ready at 4 pm, but we left Banfield with her at 5:15 pm. So the whole annual took a whole day? I understand the short-staffed issue, but here comes the main thing that leads me to this post: we prepared a list of concerns for the vet and explained to the front desk lady one by one, since we cannot go in with her for the appt. We listed that she may have an ear infection because all the symptoms apparently imply one. When we picked her up, I asked the staff if she has an ear infection, she said no. But I did not see any test items on my bill or the worksheet, and her symptoms continue. Now I have to try to get another appt just for that.

Take your pets to a better vet. I've had so many bad experiences with Banfield but was essentially trapped for a year for buying the scam "wellness plan". Doctors give mixed advice at best and communication is almost 0. My dog was left overnight with no food at Banfield because the pick up time was never communicated. I've tried over and over to ask the vet about my concerns with my dogs weight only with a passive aggressive "she's too skinny." I've gotten "advice" from the vet techs that go against well know, published studies. Just please, take your pets to a better vet.

It's been 4 times they canceled my dog's surgery. I understnd about covid situation and all that but since February they been postponing his surgery they have very poor communication in between staff. And we have the health plan that we monthly pay

We were so frustrated by the lack of communication and response at our last visit that we cancelled our wellness plan. It turns out that one of the things that they failed to communicate was that they had not given our cat her scheduled rabies vaccine. Once we found out, we brought her right in for the vaccine (now six months late.) Not only did they not apologize, but they charged us about $90 for a vaccine that would have been covered under the wellness plan if they had given it when they were supposed to do so. Do not trust your pet’s health with this practice.

The vet didn't check my dog over thorough enough so I have to go back and show her the place of injury my dog suffers from....she should have been a sales rep instead of a vet

Woodinville Banfield is more about collecting money than truly caring for your pets. The wellness plan does not really cover anything besides the very basics. Every time you need any medication is like $80 to $250 min. After thousands of dollars spent.... The most frustrating part is that the medication is not even working. Instead taking the time to find out the potential cause the doctors just want to sell the medicine.

I had called to make an appointment and they asked me to hold on. I waited patiently for 25 minutes and no one got back to continue to help.

The neligent vet decided to give my dog the rabies shot a WHOLE YEAR before it was due. I don't know if she was too lazy to review his file or ask me for the proper information. Either way, she was very nonchalant about her actions. I would not suggest taking your pet to a place that clearly lacks important communication for medical care. And they did not remove the uneeded vaccine from my bill until I called to complain to corporate. Please don't get trapped into their wellness plan. If you have a monthly payment plan, they want you to pay for the entire year before cancelling the plan. My plan just renewed a week prior to the visit. Needless to say, we have parted ways and I will not be returning for any reason!

I took my 8 month old Cane Corso in to get surgery for her cherry eye at the woodinville location, her doctor was Dr. Voletta. After going over the options of fixing the one eye for $800 or both (she said to be preventive) for $1500, we decided to do both. Not even 30 days from the day she had surgery my dogs eyelid popped back out while she was chewing on one of her bones. I was able to massage it back in but later that night it did it again. I called immediately into the location and set up an appointment to have her seen again. After driving back down to Woodinville at 8 in the morning, I live in Arlington, the nurse said everything looked fine and to just keep massaging the eyelid into place and that Dr. Voletta was extremely busy and she’d call me later that day. Well she didn’t. And my dogs eye has since popped back and and now will not go back into place. I am very disappointed with experience I had here and after speaking with them again and going over options it sounds like it may not be covered by the hospital. I will not recommend this location ever, to anyone. Not only was the surgery done poorly but the lack of communication from the vet is outrageous. I have at this point called a third time and am waiting for a return call from her. After the amount of money and time spent driving back and forth I am appalled at their level of professionalism and just to reiterate will never recommend or return to this location.

I scheduled both of my cats an appointment at 10am I live a hour away. By the time I was able to make it with traffic I was 20 minutes late. They tell me they cant see me because I was alittle late thanks Brenda!I drive a hour to be told they can’t see me. No call reminding me so I can tell them I’m coming no appointment reminder either Besides the fact it was a huge deal to get them seen here because they scheduled me my appointment then call me back saying they can’t see both of my cats. Not professional. Do not recommend.

Brought our kitten in for pre-neuter bloodwork and vaccinations. We did not expect it to cost $350. We went with it because what else could we do? Scheduled his neuter. When we showed up they didn't have him on the schedule. We gave up with them and took him to another vet, had Banfield fax his records and learned they did not do bloodwork on him. We were literally charged $350 for vaccinations on a cat!!

I’ve been taking my puppy here since she was 3 weeks old, I have The wellness plan they recommended and everything. She goes to her yearly check up’s and all her appointments they recommend her last one with them where they keep her and do a bunch of tests.well after all that they told me she was fine( didn’t go over any of the test) but then in August she got really sick and I tried taking her back there and they refused to see her.. no thanks to them my puppy is okay now, she needed a blood transfusion. So I spoke with their Manager about the situation and she told me the next time I have an emergency I could walk in and they would love to receive me Second emergency I had TODAY!! they also refused to take me in AGAIN!!! I am very disappointed with this hospital because I’ve been taking my puppy here since day one and an emergency!!! when I need you guys you guys refused to see us. Very disrespectful!! And sad

The number does not work which is frustrating. Even when I try to connect via petsmart first it hangs up. The staff is friendly but not good at timing. I do not mind if something takes 45 minutes or 2 hours. Just be HONEST. Telling me it should only take 15 minutes, then after 30 I ask and they say "5 more minutes" and I end up waiting another hour. That messes up stuff I could have done in the spare time. Again. Tell me it will be an hour rather than "5 more minutes" for an entire hour. And PLEASE get your phone working. My pet is in need of constant care right now with her bladder stones and it's frustrating having no way to contact the office. Edit: Staff immediately followed up after review and explained phone situation. Thank you.

I had a Spay appointment scheduled with at Banfield for the past 3 weeks and with less than 24 hrs before the procedure I was called and told that they had a mix up and the appointment is now cancelled (because the person who scheduled the appointment was in training). Next appointment again a few weeks out. No regards for any one plans. Cannot be depended upon at all. Find some other place if you want professionalism and reliability.

It's a little bit corporate but Drs Velotta, O'Brien and Knoll demonstrate both affection for and great interest in my pets. Love the long hours. Friendly staff that actually like animals.

We recently moved to the Woodinville area and had an older dog that was having some health issues. Unfortunately we had to put him down a few days ago due to his failing health. This was by far the hardest decision we have made and was absolutely heartbreaking. However the compassion shown by Dr. Gilpin and her assistant went absolutely above and beyond. She made sure we knew what would happen and prepared us for everything. She made sure our pup was comfortable and was attentive to our needs. She went about the procedure with complete professionalism and compassion and we felt the support every step of the way, even offering me a hug after our dog had passed. They allowed us to hold and sit with him as long as we needed. You can tell she loves her job and even though this part of her job cannot be easy, she made an unbearable situation that much bearable. He was our pup for 13 years and we miss him so much. As long as Dr. Gilpin is at Banfield, we will be bringing in our other dog Sophie to her for care. Dr. Gilpin is a gem.
