Very stressful, when your pet gets sick while on vacation. My dog Sadie had a bad case of diarrhea and at 3 in the morning started vomiting a lot.Started my search for Vet early in the morning and was directed here by another place.. Arrived just as they opened and was able to get an appointment couple hours later. After testing they did find what was wrong and gave me the prescriptions to treat it. Sadie did feel better later in the day. Dr. Haase and staff (including comfort cat,Sherman?)were very helpful. THANK YOU SO MUCH !!!!

Took Fritz in today and I love that they make appointments for pets' visit. I hate to waste time and so much less stress on the pet. The staff is friendly and they answered all my questions.

I dont like the way the front desk is organized. I make an appointment to have ONLY ears checked and they assumed that my puppy hasn't had vaccinations. Well, I took my dog to the VETCO clinic (yes Vetco a Mobil clinic at Petco) So I said no to the almost $400 they wanted . Went to Columbia vet waited an hour an I was in and out. I will say that Dr. ashi (last 4 letters in her name was ashi) is a great veterinarian

I have been there one time. Tried to make a second appointment and was told that they needed pay upfront because I was a new patient. They couldn't find my name or dogs name anywhere. Ok so it's all about the money. I get it in Covid times we are all trying to just get through it but really?? Whatever happened to caring, quality professional service.? I will be driving to Nehalem vet. Not fancy or big just people who will see my senior dog and treat us with respect.

I drove all the way from Portland! I've had the best experience at any vet so far they're so kind and considerate and make sure to go over everything and really listen to your concerns. I don't mind driving 3 hours to come to this vet at all it takes me a little longer because I go highway 30 route. The Portland vets aren't taking any new patients and they quote people extremely high like outrageously high right now. The vet that I saw I don't remember her name she was amazing so kind to my dog Radar who was a rescue and has a temperament due to being scared. Her and the vet tech were just so amazing I can't speak any more highly of this place I am so happy I chose this place to come to originally I had been scheduled at a different clinic months out and all of a sudden they called and said they would have to reschedule me for another 4 mo out I was like um no that's not okay. Well there loss Safe Harbors gain and mine and my fur babies gain because I think it happened for a reason. So again thank you for such a pleasant experience!

We have found Safe Harbor to be very professional and the staff patient and kind. I have had waits in the area of no less than 2 to 3 hours! This was before Covid. I have never had to wait longer than 30 minutes and staff kept us updated in the parking lot when asked. That was nice! My Norfolk terrier required surgery and the Veterinarian made me feel very secure about anesthesia and the surgery. I have complete confidence in Safe Harbor and their fees are in-line with what I would expect for quality care. Thank you Safe Harbor.

Predictable, Dependable, Attentive and Efficient. The list of adjectives could go on and on. Bottom line, Safe Harbor staff help me keep my promises to my cat since I adopted her from shelter 5 years ago.

The staff is awesome ..they are very patient with my animals especially my dog yoyo...he's had a bad experience with a prior vet...with safe harbor he doesn't shake in the back seat and I don't have to carry him inside...that says alot right there!!! I love how I get a copy of everything... X-rays shots blood work allergy tests basically anything your furr baby has done...they were extremely awesome about my tardiness and worked me in or had me rescheduled within a few days.. I'd been having a bad couple of months and was not exactly a pleasure to be around and the manager was great with me... Thank you all for taking great care of my babies kk n yoyo.... ????????

I drive from Tacoma WA to see Dr Haase. I wouldn't trust my pets to any other vet. She is a kind and caring vet who truly cares for the pets that she sees. She will not run any test/procedure that is not needed. She will not nickel and dime you. I highly recommend going here! Pictures for cuteness! And for remembering my mini schnauzer, I lost my baby girl in Oct 2020 to kidney failure. Dr Haase and her team made this heartwrenching time easier to get through. Thank you!!

They ran a chip reader to locate an owner of a missing dog, that found us in Astoria near Burger King east of the bridge parking area.

We arrived on time for our 10am appointment for our recently rescued puppy. A receptionist came out with new patient paperwork and I gave them her records. Twenty min later they come back for the paperwork, but still don’t take my dog. I call at 10:30 because our appointment was half an hour ago and they still haven’t taken my dog back. A tech comes out a few min later with the records I gave them and starts to go over a list of charges they are billing me for - again, they haven’t even looked at my dog. First charge on the list was a heart worm test & medication. I reach into the medical records file and pull out her HW neg test and date of treatment to show her that the test/treatment wasn’t necessary. She apologized that she must have “missed that”. I then notice that the microchip registration form was missing and asked that she immediately find that so it doesn’t get lost as we’d yet to verify the chip number and register it. She gets huffy and leaves. Ten min later the receptionist comes back out, returns the missing form, and runs to go back inside. I ask “aren’t you going to take my dog in for an exam? - she replies that the tech would be back out in a bit. By this time its10:45 and the exam hasn’t begun, there are only 3 other cars in the lot (receptionist, tech, & vet) - I leave - I don’t trust these people after that runaround, they proved themselves to be unprofessional, inattentive, and only concerned about money.

My dog Buddy had a hot spot that was growing by the minute and the staff were able to help him in a timely and compassionate manner. The staff was extremely friendly, even at the end of a busy, busy day and they explained everything they did with Buddy and his medications. Best Animal hospital around here! Thank you!

**Just an FYI, we tried to make appointments for literally any other vet during this entire process, but they are all booked for weeks**First off, I recently moved, so I had to switch vets. My kitten was due for one last round of his booster shots and so we made the appointment for his last booster. My boyfriend and I gave Safe Harbor the contact information for our previous vet to get the correct vaccination booster shot he needed. Upon arriving for the initial appointment, they tried to force us to get shots/booster shots that he already had or I specifically had said not to give him. They came back outside while we waited and brought back a huge list of charges we never agreed on. We asked why they were trying to charge us for shots he's already had and they replied with a very generalized response to their mistake and admitted they never contacted our previous vet to get the correct information. After about a week, we ended up having to bring him back because he had bowel issues (soft stool) and when we brought him there, we waited outside for over an hour with an apt and no one had come to check on us (even though their new COVID policy is to wait outside in your vehicle and they will come to you), and finally my boyfriend went to grab someone. When someone finally came out, they didn't even go towards helping my kitten, just went straight to trying to bill us a bunch of charges we again did not agree upon. We ended up having to keep my kitten at the vet because they needed a fecal sample. After several hours, we go pick him up, they shove a bill in our hands and barely explained what was wrong with him. We ended up asking several questions, to which the person who had brought out our cat to us told us to hold on and would come back with an answer. She came back a while later and didn't give us the answer we asked for, and just gave us "oh he should be fine, here's the bill" kind of attitude. The third time we brought him in was again for the same issue because the medicine they gave him did nothing. We, again, had to drop him off and wait for a fecal sample. Hours later, I called to check up on the status of my cat's condition, waited on hold with them while the receptionist went and talked to the vet. I waited on the phone for half an hour before they LITERALLY HUNG UP ON ME. I waited a few minutes to see if they would call back, but nothing. I was angry and frustrated at this point and didn't call them back. I had my boyfriend call instead and he picked up our cat. A week or so later, my boyfriend and I still frustrated and upset over the horrible experience tried to get him into another vet, but still could not. So unfortunately, we had to still go with Safe Harbor because my cat was still not better, and seemed to be getting worse. At this point, my boyfriend and I had spent hundreds of dollars trying to resolve the issue at hand my poor cat was going through and had no results, only half-a** responses. We ended up making one more appointment with Safe Harbor and when we were waiting outside for someone to come get him, a woman came out. We got our cat out of the car and she immediately responded with, "I'm not here for your cat. I'm here to see what you want." We told her we had an appointment to which she responded, "No, your appointment isn't for another half an hour, we don't schedule appointments on surgery days." We told her that we were told a different time, in which she started blaming one of her coworkers for the miscommunication. A week or so later, I called the vet up, asked to talk to a manager, explained everything that we've been dealing with. Her response wasn't very professional, either. She told me that she would pay for another fecal test and a urine test but that the vet dr. doesn't like to 'give away freebies'. They had us pay for some probiotic meds that were supposed to harden stool within 2-3 days. Here we are, a week later and still not better. NEVER GOING BACK HERE AGAIN. They were unprofessional, rude, and didn't even seem to care about our animal, only caring the bill be paid.

The staff here went out of their way to make sure me and my dog were taken care of, and my dog walked out happy and clearly liked the staff both times we were here.
