We went to CJs with our lab puppy about 8 years ago. We had been referred by family. CJ is very knowledgeable and skilled as you can see through her own dogs' behavior. We loved the class then and our dog really showed improvement after we did puppy, obedience 1&2. Pre pandemic :) We just brought our german shepard through puppy class and obedience 1. The classes are instructive with some demonstration. You are sent home with a handout of tips to train on. Its a little different than it used to be likely because of the pandemic precautions. I really liked when cj would grab a few dogs from the group before and have them practice with her once or twice then the handler also practices. Also would love if the handouts were also sent out electronically via email.

Really impressed by the level of experience and knowledge of dog behavior. Couldn't be happier.

Extremely happy with the price and knowledge we received during obedience training. Having direct access to tap into CJ's experience and knowledge, even if I only wanted 1 question per class (I could have easily asked more) was definitely worth it. I've owned many dogs before, but having CJ's knowledge on how to interpret behavior and encourage desired behaviors was wonderful. Absolutely wonderful for the cost.

Would not recommend CJ to anyone. The classes are completely unstructured and she doesn't help if you are struggling with something. She just tells you there is something that she sells that will help you or to get a book... my puppy know a lot of what she was showing us. When I asked if he should be in a more advanced class so said no this was best for us. Also I was told that I couldn't use a martingale or my leash during class. My leash was too thick and martingale was a "negative reinforcement".

I got my mini Labradoodle in April 2020, right during the pandemic. I wanted to make sure he got proper training, even though dog trainers weren’t able to hold in person classes. CJ agreed to have weekly phone calls to get my puppy off to a good start. She was flexible and had such great advice. My pup attended Kindergarten and the first level of training…all very helpful. I got compliments at the vet recently about how his good manners. He’s now 1 1/2 years old and does so well…we practice every day. I can’t thank CJ enough…I only wish my work schedule was more flexible to get him into the next level of obedience training. I highly recommend CJ and her staff!

I am returning to CJ's Dog Training after 20 years. Taking my new puppy because she's so good at what she does. Even my veterinarian recommends her!

CJ was so informative, took the time to answer any questions and gave individualized time to each dog and owner. Especially during Covid when I was worried about safety, I was thoroughly impressed with the cleanliness, safety and quality. I would absolutely recommend.

I've gone through several of CJ's classes with all of my dogs. I've always found them informative, well done and I continued to learn about both my own behavior and my dogs. Highly recommended!

I went into this puppy class excited and hoping for the best but coming out incredibly disappointed. I attended the puppy kindergarten class which ended up being about an hour long lecture and about 5-10 minutes of actual training practice. Every week. Needless to say, all of the puppies became very restless and bored every class. If you have zero experience with dogs ever and you have a desire to be treated terribly for asking questions that they might disagree with you on, then this is the perfect place for you. I would not recommend ever coming here for classes. I have since moved to another local training facility and the difference in quality is shocking.

I have a large, hyper, puppy and it was difficult to follow her instructions thru class. Wish she demonstrated without a show dog that acts perfectly. It was quite a stretch when saw her demonstrate then tried to get my dog to do the same. One on one, I think she would be fantastic but a room full of dogs, my situation seemed to be over looked. After the Puppy Kindergarten experience will be going with a different dog training program for the dog obedience.

Great dog trainer. Before class started our dog was unruly and hyper and inattentive. CJ taught us how to work with him in order to focus him and his behavioral issues. She also had a lot of on hands work in class and offers outside of class help.

CJ is the best trainer I have ever seen! She has helped me get my German shephard husky mix puppy to listen and enjoy listening. Can't go wrong.

CJ is a great teacher. She has many years of training experience. My little Bichon is in the Beginning Obedience class. Maverick loves CJ. CJ teaches lots of information to help us keep our dogs safe, as well as patient training of things we want our dogs to do, like paying attention to us even when there are other dogs around, going to their bed when told to, walking nicely on a leash without pulling. I wholeheartedly recommend CJ.

While driving we had someone behind us from this company using a company vehicle who tried cutting us off multiple times, driving way too close to our car (almost hitting us) all while we were doing the speed limit and literally there were no issues so not sure why this older lady was up our butt. She eventually turned into a neighborhood after flipping us off and flying in front of traffic to turn left.

I had a large puppy that I needed help with. She seemed afraid of him and frequently relegated us to a corner. She also spent the first half of the class trying to get people to buy stuff. Her staff are great but I do not recommend her.

Had a very positive experience. Price is very reasonable. I believe it was 10 classes for about 110 for the beginner course. Compared to what I have seen in other places, that is great! All of the staff I encountered on every visit was friendly and helpful. We missed 2 of the classes overall due to some family issues but was not admonished or anything. They just said welcome and gave me the printout from what I missed. Each week has a printout of what will be covered and the homework. Also some tips for success. It is also available online. There were about 10 people and pups in our class and they varied in size, breed, temperament etc. None of this fazed the instructors. They have a shop dog for demonstrating and then alternate with your dog. They explain, show and then everyone practices. It is of course unreasonable to expect most dogs to get everything just in class time. That is why there is homework. Really the owner is getting trained on how to keep their dog trained. Some people I have spoken to complained about CJs and said it didn't help their dog. When I questioned further they admitted that they missed most of the classes and did none of the homework because were too busy. If u r too busy to train, u should not get a dog. Let's be fair, it is neither the training class nor the dogs fault if the owner is not willing to be a responsible owner. That includes a lot of work and time and money. The reward is worth it but be realistic and know what you are getting into before you go to a training place like Cjs and blame them for your faults. My dog did great and when she doesn't behave now, it is entirely my fault for not giving her the attention or exercise she needs. I will be putting her into CJs rally class asap because she loves to do that kind of stuff and is very intelligent. I am in know way affiliated with CJs. I do not even know them on any kind of personal level and I have received no discount or benefit from writing this. I wrote it because it is fair and true from my experiences.

Very frustrating puppy class. First the class was advertised for 1:15 but it goes much longer which starts 10 min late. Our Saturday is valuable. There was 18 people jammed in a little space which caused our pup to behave in a way that she never has before. They tell you to step on the leash to control the dog but this doesn’t stop her from being crazy with the other pup 2’ away. I could go on but im ranting. I don’t recommend this place due to the lack of class control and not limiting class size. We will go back to the place we went to previously in Camas since they limit the class size to 6 dogs.

C. J's decades long expertise in dog training is second to none. I thought I had a pretty good handle on dog training after 20 years of owning dogs. I was wrong. Don't miss out on this experience right here in Vancouver.

I'm so grateful for CJ and her expertise. We took our standard poodle there for puppy class and continued on with beginning and intermediate obedience classes. We would still be going there if we hadn't moved out of the state. We now have a beautifully behaved dog and I learned a lot as well that has helped me as a dog groomer. I can now better understand common behavioral issues and know how to navigate them, giving dogs that are hard to groom a positive grooming experience. I'm so grateful for CJ and her team. The knowledge that is taught there is invaluable. I highly recommend them!
