I have been going to Tmwater Vet for years with my cat. Even though I moved an hour away, I kept the vet the same for consistency as she is 14 years old and has some health issues. I made the appointment about 3 weeks prior for vaccinations and a checkup. Due to my unusual work schedule, it is very hard for me to make it to appointments during the daytime hours. Tumwater Vet called me the day before my appointment to confirm. The morning of the appointment, the staff called me and left a voice message asking me to reschedule and an hour later called me to say that my appointment was canceled. They stated that they rescheduled me with a different vet on a different day due to my cat being aggressive. As I mentioned, I have been going here for years and the aggression is not a new issue. They have given me a med for her to take before the appointments to calm her which I intended to give. Additionally I cannot make the new appointment time due to my work schedule. I do not understand why this was not addressed in my confirmation or initial scheduling call. The family who referred me to this vet have also stopped going there with their 2 dogs and 1 cat as they experienced poor treatment and rude staff behavior ever since Dr. Bennet retired and sold the business. It is sad to see yet another local buisness taken over by a large company that sets standards increasingly low and prices high.

They won't see their own patients yet they continue to advertise accepting new patients. Mine is a geriatric dog who desperately needs to be seen. Yet they won't return email or phone messages and act like we should tough it out. No appointments offered even one week out. These people are too self important to be helpful.

I have been going to this vet office for the past couple of years, mainly out of convenience. Today is the last time I will ever be back. My dog had puppies on Christmas morning, I tried calling the next day and they were closed. No big deal. However this morning I called to have my momma dog seen and have an x-ray done to make sure she didn't have any left over puppies that were stuck. They told me that they were too busy, didn't have enough employees and weren't able to see her. So I called the emergency vet near me, and they were shocked that my vet wouldn't squeeze her in. X-rays take 5 minutes. They emergency vet tried talking to them to convince them to have me seen. My momma dog was having some pretty scary complications and I was scared for her life. Not only did Tumwater Vet tell the emergency vet there was nothing they could do, but they also told another vet office I called the same thing. They basically didn't care if my dog lived or died. Even though we have 7" of snow on the ground and the roads are a sheet of ice, I made that drive. If they were going to keep denying me it would be to my face. When I got there, they didn't have anyone in the parking lot to be seen, they didn't have anyone in the waiting room and their phones were ringing off the hook with cancellations. Even with all of that they still told me they didn't have room for her to be seen. I demanded to speak to the vet and after speaking with him he reluctantly took her back for an x-ray. Thankfully she doesn't have any puppies left in. Thankfully she will be okay. But the disrespect I experienced as a pet owner and client was disgusting. The front desk lady was so rude as I was paying. Practically laughed in my face because I was wrong about possible stuck puppies. I am so disappointed with how this company treats their scared pet parents. If you want a vet office that cares for your pets as much as you do, if you want to be taken seriously, and not be brushed off or laughed at, I would strongly suggest NOT going to the vet office. My dog was needing to be seen for a non-emergency issue. When I initially called to set up the appointment the staff was very attentive and helpful on giving me tips to care for my dog at home until we could be seen. The doctor and assistant were very attentive and GREAT with my dog.

They employees at the clinic went above and beyond helping us figure out why our little fur baby was sick. The Veterinarian called every day to check on our kitten 'Gray'.

My fur and feathered babies have seen Dr. Dave & Dr. Lena Cordray for about 6 years. And I refuse to take them to anyone else. They've always given my babies the best medical care, advice, and treatment!

Dr. Bretta Bauman is one fabulous Vet who happens to be treating our elderly cat Tucker. We are so pleased with her caring treatment and the vast knowledge of treating cats she shared with us. We are going to have her care for our other two pets as well, another cat and our dog Daisy. Compassionate, intelligent, extremely thorough and we felt so relieved and grateful for her care. Thank you Dr. Bauman!!!

My experience here was wonderful! Dr. Bauman was very kind and knowledgeable. The staff were all very welcoming. This is our new veterinarian and my sweet pup has to come in every month for his addison's disease. I look forward to her approach and getting my little one onto a healthier lifestyle.

Tumwater Vet is an excellent place to bring your pet. They have wonderful customer service and if they can, they will answer my questions on the phone. The place is clean, well run, and professional. The only downside is that they can be a bit pricey but that makes obvious sense with how much time and effort they put forth for your pets.

I rated 5 stars but FYI I haven't been able to be inside due to the pandemic. I'm glad I chose this vet hospital for my dogs when I lived closer to it. I am not sure if they are taking new patients though so call ahead. Prices are reasonable but it's still a vet hospital some tests/imaging/services are going to just be expensive, that's the thing about having a pet. (I don't think they (or most if not all vet clinics) are inflating the prices for these things but I won't get into that here.) While they aren't always able to get you in the day of; they do try their best to see your pet quickly and keep you informed your options. One of my dogs was there following a colitis episode, they let me know that they would prefer to postpone scheduled vaccine until she was feeling better. I'm glad they let me know me know this. It shows that have knowledge and care enough about animals to let me know they thought it was better to wait; even though it was an optional vaccine that I could've changed my mind about afterwards. They were also able to see my other dog for an emergency visit for some concerning swelling thos morning after I left a voicemail last night. We have a surgery scheduled to address his health issue at the moment and while writing this they were able to move it up sooner and will let us know if there is a cancellation to move it up again. I also cremate my pet rats here. They are very caring and have a lovely little tin urn that they rest in. They send a thoughtful card a while after I pick up my boys, along their paw prints. Very happy with this clinic and am disappointed I won't be able stay with them after my dogs surgery since we're moving.

It felt like a loving family atmosphere there, and that made me happy. They are very helpful, patient and caring. I did not even get scolded about my pups teeth. But I've done enough feeling mad at myself. Im just glad they were there to help my little guy.

We were very pleased with our first time visit to this practice. Our concerns for our dog's health were thoroughly responded to with appropriate concern and skill. Dr. Dave took his time and let our nervous dog become comfortable with his presence before beginning the exam. The office staff was pleasant and we were seen promptly. The charges were reasonable.

Very expensive. Spent over $300 on a single “follow up” visit. Earlier in the year, I spent over $300 for a different “follow up” visit and DID NOT EVEN RECEIVE A FOLLOW UP CALL FROM THE DOCTOR OR ANYONE. They demanded money from me in order for me to get my dog back... and they literally didn’t explain what was wrong with him. The vets in the area aren’t/weren’t taking new clients, so I called today to try and schedule another appointment (with all the reservation in the world). TWVH... lost my record somehow (and then tried to tell me I was calling the wrong vet ????). I’ve never seen an actual doctor. The little “contact” I’ve had was via phone and about a 5 minute explanation of my dogs condition. Needless to say, I will not be returning. Thankfully, after explaining this mess to another local vet, they let me on their schedule as a new client. Absolutely ridiculous.

Today was the worst visit to the vet I have ever encountered. Meghan Doyle was our veteranarian and she was so rude and not professional at all. For being a vet with little experience she should not be seeing patients without a superiors supervision. I don't want to go into much detail about our visit, but I would like Meghan to watch how she talks to people without following proper procedures. Blood work is huge part of the animals well being and she chose to judge without any blood work done. Will not be seeing her ever again

This is probably the best vet hospital, they treat your pet as if that was their child, they listen to your concerns, and give different treatment options when available. My cat monster has never left the office traumatized or scared. They are here to not only help animals but help owners care for our animals.

These folks have made really rational decisions during some really hard times. We've been confident that our kitties have gotten the best care they could get without endangering staff.

My best friend Aspen Jack had to cross the rainbow Bridge this morning and I struggled with the decision for the last week. My husband had to make the appt because I couldn't get the words out to say it was time for my almost 13 year old best friend to be at peace. The staff came out to us, let us have our time, walked us through the process and was so empathetic. I cannot verbalize how much I appreciate the staff at Tumwater; today was one of the hardest times I've been through and knowing they cared as much as I do for my best friend made it a bit easier. ????

I had a pet emergency was told to come that Friday on the Monday before I stayed up after working nights brought dog in to be seen was told no your appt not until the 30th even though thats not the date I scheduled the appt for nor would I waited that long was turned away when I specifically told themy dog had a large lump was told that they wouldn't have scheduled for that friday but yhe week before they schedule my other pet for a same week appt. The following Monday my dog ended up in the emergency pet hospital for a rupture that cost us 7000 grand I'll never recommend this hospital to no one and I will not be bringing pets back.

Great vets, great service. Been to several vets and spent thousands of dollars to figure out what was wrong with my dog and the first time i took her in they did some blood work and we had an idea. Ran a few more tests to confirm but my dog has a rare copper storage disease. Not something you find in great pyrenees. Ive been to 5 other vet offices with no luck. She had been extremely underweight for yrs. Literaly skin and bones, and now shes 20 lbs heavier and healthy happy with life and energy. I thank them so much!!

We used to absolutely love this place. The staff was incredibly helpful, attentive and reasonably priced. But, my, how times have changed since COVID. Our prior three visits have been huge disappointments to say the least. Our last visit was indeed our last visit. Our dog needed a medication refill. Simple enough. But not with TVH. Since it had been two years since our dog was last seen for the issue, they refused to submit a refill until she was seen. Simple enough. When can we bring her in? “Our next available appointment is in two months.” Our dog will be dead by then without her meds. Can’t you call in a refill until she is seen? “No sir. We would lose our license if we did that!”. Uh-huh. That, folks, was our last visit. Prior to that it was a series of unreturned phone calls and a vet bill for blood tests which was double what we had paid a year earlier. I won’t name the place since it might be a violation of Google policy, but there is a very caring vet clinic down the road in Rochester who treated my dog with the sense of compassion and urgency she needed and deserved - the type of care she used to receive at TVH.
