The receptionist was very rude, I did not feel comfortable at all talking to her. She sounded like she had a horrible attitude. Immediately went to find a better dog training business with a MORE KIND receptionist.

My puppy and I have taken the Puppy Kindergarten and the Puppy 2 classes through Good CitiZen Dog. The classes were excellent, I highly recommend them! I learned how to connect with my puppy and maintain her attention, which is absolutely critical to training. The sessions were very fun for both my puppy and myself and an excellent vehicle to socialize my puppy with other dogs and people. Deborah and Christina also help guide you through any issues you may be experiencing outside of class in a very positive and constructive manner.

Took a class from Deb over 2 years ago to get our very big, very fearful dog to be able to relax around strange humans and dogs. Originally, every time we took her for a walk we were on edge not knowing how she would react to passing someone on the sidewalk. She was also extremely reactive when friends and family would come over and we were honestly afraid she would bite someone. Just in the time it took to complete the class, we saw a huge turnaround, I couldn't believe how our dog changed. The walk on the waterfront on the last day if the class was really astounding, I never thought I would see our crazy dog be able to walk past that many people and dogs and bicycles etc. Without having a total meltdown. Fast forward to the present, we now have a six month old baby and have started having friends over again after more than a year of no visitors, and using Deb's zen methods, we have been able to enjoy our time with the baby and our friends worry free. Cannot recommend Deb and her classes enough!

I am so fortunate to have had Good CitiZEN recommended to me! The trainers are highly knowledgeable and provide great instruction. They take the time to get to know you, your dog, and your dog's individual needs. The training methods have created an impressive amount of connection and responsiveness between me and my dog. I intend to take every class that Good CitiZEN offers to help my dog reach his fullest potential. I cannot say enough positive things about Good CitiZEN!

This will be the third class I've taken with Deb at Good CitiZEN and I can't explain enough how great their value is. You learn so much in the class from desensitization, to good walking techniques. Such a great wonderful experience.

Owner hung up twice while I was trying to ask simple questions about dog training. Our dog hasn’t socialized with others because of COVID and the owner said, “I don’t need to deal with this. I have people lined up AROUND THE BLOCK to work with me and I don’t need this.” Can’t imagine how they train dogs to act appropriately when they can’t.

I called to ask for information about one of their classes and was spoken to in an extremely rude way, was talked over and was interrupted and then they hung up on me. Go elsewhere if you want to be treated with respect.

Cannot recommend Deborah enough! Her training has been life-changing for our rescue pup!

Our dogs Roxy & Thora absolutely love Good CitiZEN and the staff are always so sweet and personable. We have one larger dog who has been going there since she was a puppy, she practically breaks their door down in the morning to get inside. Our other dog is small and quiet but she still enjoys hanging out there where she had been nervous about other daycares in the past.

Well, I found a gem of a dog grooming shop in the heart of Tacoma. After walking my dog by this shop on my numerous stays over the past year, I decided to try them out. WOW! I just can't say enough for the quality and the excellent service they provide. I give this shop a solid 5 stars.

Rating 5 stars because there’s no option to rate higher. Nothing but good things to say about the owner Deborah and all of the amazing people that work here! We have an extremely reactive terrier who has gone through group training and now attends the doggie daycare. After 7 weeks of training he is like a completely different dog! He has learned to be less reactive, he has developed self control when faced with things that would have previously triggered him, and we can actually take him to public places now. All of the doggie daycare staff are wonderful and take the time to make sure he is not overwhelmed during his time there. He’s always so happy when I pick him up. Thank you Deborah and team!!

I called to speak to a trainer, and a lady answered "hello" angrily as if I was bothersome. She stated she will call me back and refer me to someone. Been two days with no call back. Definitely not somewhere I want to set a trainer with.

Been sending my dog, Lolo, to good citizen day care for close to a year now. The staff is incredibly professional and you can tell they love what they do. Lolo went into it being a shy dog, but since going there weekly she has opened up and has a lot more confidence. I also have Lolo currently enrolled in one of their many classes. Deb does a fantastic job of making things simple and fun when it comes to training your dog. Can't recommend them enough!

Love this place. I started at another place and wasn't impressed at all. I went to Good Citizen based on a friend's recommendation and even though it is a bit further for me to drive, it is worth it. I also talked a long time to one of the staff members on the phone. She was super patient on the phone and answered all my questions and then some!! The staff are friendly and best of all they treat all the dogs like they are part of the family there. The owner is super knowledgeable and really wants to see these dogs succeed. At the same time, she doesn't mess around, you must put in the work because when you leave training class for the week, it is on us to keep training, to help our dogs rise to their potential! Our class was so big she added another class to accommodate everyone!

The team has been wonderful with my dog who doesn’t always enjoy large groups. They pay attention to his moods and give him quiet time when he is overwhelmed. This location and the amazing people have made such a positive difference in my dog and my lives!

We first met Deborah from Good CitiZEN ten years ago when we adopted a rescue dog, who was extremely anti-social, afraid of everything and growly towards other dogs, he was basically a mess. With Deborah's guidance, we were able to help him work through his challenges using positive reinforcement and praise. He's now 11 years old and is such a great dog with a sweet old man disposition. Our recent addition is a border collie/aussie puppy. 6 months old, full of energy, over social and smart as a whip. It wasn't even a debate of where to take her for obedience training, it was "when can we register her with Deborah." A few weeks in and Karou is already responsive to ZEN, getting her jumping under control, and looking to us for guidance. We're looking forward to the next classes with Deborah and her staff, and we can't recommend enough of her techniques!

Our pup absolutely LOVES Good Citezen Dog and I’m happy to say, his parents do too! We have nothing but goood things to say about this establishment. They are personable and real. Deb and her staff work with you on a level that is fitting for your family, and we’re not treated as a number or as a paycheck. We genuinely feel cared for and like part of the family. They encourage and foster an environment of grace and look after all the pups as if they are their own. Our little family of three would highly recommend Good Citezen Dog to anyone and everyone!

I absolutely love this place - I got my dog groomed for a great price, but even better than the price was the amazing service. I needed my dog groomed on New Year’s Day, and they accommodated me. They were so incredibly friendly, and so great with my dog. I’ve had previous groomers muzzle my terrier, because he can be a bit jumpy. Good Citizen didn’t muzzle my dog, and treated him like it was their own dog. I give this company a five star review, but they deserve six stars. Wonderful local business with awesome employees. I will continue supporting this shop like crazy, they put a smile on my face. I can’t say enough about how much I loved my experience.

They are good at their doggy stuff!

The staff here treats my pup like a member of the family. We drop him off almost every day, and he has done several multinight stays.

i highly recommend good citizen for training, doggy daycare and boarding. Both our dogs have been through the puppy training program at Good Citizen. Our oldest, now 4, did puppy 1 and 2 and did some doggy daycare back when they were still in Fife. As a 7 month old puppy, she was pretty wild... didn’t listen, still wasn’t fully house broken, bit and scratched us all the time. The training we did with Deborah and going to doggy daycare helped us correct those undesirable behaviors. Our newest dog did both puppy classes as well as advanced meet and greet. He had a lot of fear and apprehension towards anything new. Through advanced meet and greet, we learned all the techniques and exercises to desensitize him to the things that caused him fear. Today, both dogs are well socialized, well behaved sweethearts. The training helped us immensely with recall and gaining and keeping their attention when we need it. Deborah was able to hone in right away on the unique challenges we had with each dog and provide us solutions to fix those issues.
