Kitten Rescue of Mason County Shelton, Washington

I adopted 2 kittens from here 4 years ago. They are 2 amazing animals that my family lives very much. Do when my eldest son wanted to get his girlfriend a kitten for Christmas, this is the place we chose. They do great work here!

Adopted a sweet cat here and the moment we got home she was coughing so badly I didn’t think she could breath properly, told the shelter I needed to bring her back so I didn’t expose my other animals to an upper respiratory infection that is contagious to dogs and cats. When I brought her back they put her in the same kennel she was in less than 48 hours before in a room with OTHER cats that were to be adopted out. The people here seem really kind but it’s incredibly irresponsible to put a possibly very sick cat back in an area with other supposedly healthy cats.

I would highly recommend this rescue. They are attentive, helpful and all of the kitties are well taken care of. Our two barn kitties are settling in nicely.

We love supporting this great non-profit rescue facility and are now the proud owners of our 2nd cat from Kitten Rescue. Their facilities are great and their volunteer staff are very caring and knowledgeable. If you are looking for a cat to adopt, this is a great place to adopt!

Adopted two kittens. The personell were very friendly and helpful. The entire process was very straight forward and did not take too be terribly long. I definitely recommend them if you are looking to adopt a new furry family member.

Compassionate and helpful staff, excellent medical care for cats. Adorable adoptable kitties! I brought in a starving, sad stray kitten. She had fleas, ear mites, severe conjunctivitis and worms and they saved her life. She is a beautiful, healthy kitty now! Thank you Kitten Rescue!

This is a wonderful organization they helped me with ten kittens, that I found, left in front of a grocery store, in Olympia. I was able to enjoy and foster the babies for a few days. Very hard letting them go. They couldn't be in more capable and loving hands right now.

I love this place! Some of the hardest working volunteers I've met and they truly love and care for the well-being of each and every cat. It's truly a blessing to have Kitten Rescue in our community as they go far beyond rescuing cats. Very thankful for the work of non-profits in Mason County!

There is zero communication between any of the owners, employees, volunteers, and potential adopted parents. They will literaly push any cat on you. The way me and my partner were treated was disrespectful. The only saving grace was that we found a cat that has a personality to match ours. I wouldnt adopt from here again.

Called inquiring about kitten rescue was told unavailable asked about other resources and the lady got rude and snappy! I wouldn’t leave a stuffed animal with that disrespectful person or their establishment!

We volunteer for this amazing nonprofit, not only as foster parents for displaced kitties but also on the weekends updating their facilities. Dee, the Exec Director, and Brenda Assistant Director and head of the foster care program, are the BEST, and NEITHER gets paid for their time.???? This is the most caring and clean animal services organization I've ever seen! (Fyi, they also have to make very difficult decisions when it comes to the health of a kitty. They do their best for each one, but at times there are just unavoidable situations where the most humane thing to do is the most difficult decision. Please keep that in mind if one seems short. Most likely, they just had to make a hard decision like that, and the day doesn't stop when that happens.)????

The lady who jusr answered the phone wsd rude and impatient. I ask my first question she ssid no uhhu good bye. Unprofessional and rude..

The people there are very passionate about cats

...don’t get me wrong there are not enough kitten rescues around ❤️. My experience was pretty hurtful. I got a call back about my application and was told I was turned down because I have a one year old. The lady said “ I talked to my director and we are worried about the kitties safety with the one year old.” She just started the conversation with having already gone to the director and asked me no questions about my household or how my one year old is with animals. When I tried to express this nicely she kept cutting me off. I have experience with babies and animals. The kitties I looked at where ok’d for other animals and children. Having animals around young children is really good for them and perfectly ok if you know what you are doing. Not to mention my older two kids and two adults in the house...the baby wouldn’t be unsupervised....ever. I feel like this place is run by old ladies that are super judgy if you have kids.

Absolutely love this place and everything that it does and represents. The women running this cat rescue are absolute angels. The kitties are always well taken care of, healthy, potty trained and usually very well socialized. All of their cats come spayed or neutered. They also offer to spay or neuter your cat for free if you can not afford it. There is a wonderful barn cat program here where you can bring in a feral stray and they will adopt them out to people who own farms with an area for the cats to have warm shelter at night and food in their bellies, in return, the sweet kitties will rid them of any rodent problems they have. I have been recommending this shelter for years and I will always continue to do so. These wonderful people do not get the credit they absolutely deserve. Thank you all for working tirelessly to keep these kitties safe and adopted into their furever homes. ????

Amazing, caring staff. Clean and healthy cats after being at facility. Many kittens come in needed all kinds of help and what ever the task, they are ready.

This is an awesome rescue. Dee is so helpful and a wonderful person doing this work to help the kitties. They have a great feral program too.
