Paddy was spectacular. He worked with us on some obedience and leash skills with our large and exuberant pup. He gave us the tools to handle a variety of situations. And helped us to develop ways to easily make training a quick and fun part of our busy lives. We would highly recommend "The Dog Within" and Paddy to anyone searching for obedience training for their furry family member.

Working with Patrick has been a rewarding experience. My two teenage children and I have learned a lot about how to understand and handle our one year old Decker Rat Terrier Leo better and his behavior is much improved. Patrick is expressive, dynamic, and highly experienced. I recommend him highly.

Paddy is an excellent dog trainer, and I would recommend him to anyone! He’s worked with me and my anxious/aggressive 4-year-old rescue Papillon for 4 months now. Totally transformed my relationship with my dog through research-informed, positive training techniques. He gets right to the issue and knows how to train you, the human, to help your dog become a better doggie citizen and less anxious. 100% would recommend (his rates are very reasonable as well)

After an excellent recommendation from a neighbor, I contacted Paddy for initial training sessions for my goldendoodle puppy. We started meeting for training sessions when Murphy was 10 weeks old. By 16 weeks, Murphy mastered basic commands, was responsive to controlled and loose-leash walking, and even learned a few cute tricks! At the same time, I was better equipped with the skills and knowledge to communicate with my dog. I would definitely recommend him for any dog training needs from puppies to senior dogs. I plan to continue working with Paddy on a monthly (or as-needed) basis as Murphy grows up. Paddy is a very skilled, capable, patient trainer and makes the training sessions as fun for us humans as it is for pups! Training was and will continue to be a great investment toward a fulfilling relationship with a happy, confident, and well-behaved/respectful pup.

We hired Paddy to help us with training our 3 month old Husky and we are so glad we did! His knowledge of dogs is incredible and he was able to provide us an amazing foundation for consistent training. Within our first session, our puppy was responding to Paddy in ways we had not seen and he taught us how we can communicate in the same way. Our puppy is only 5 months old, but we are constantly getting compliments and how well behaved he is. I would highly recommend Paddy and we will be working with him in the future with any problem behaviors or any new pups.

Paddy is a wonderful talk trainer. We felt he really listened to our needs & tailored our training sessions accordingly. He was incredibly punctual and very patient. Our dog loved him & so did we:) would highly recommend!

Paddy has been a wonderful resource for us as we have been working to train our recently adopted dog, Cherry! Cherry came to us with extreme leash reactivity and a vicious bark towards strangers, especially other dogs when on a walk. It is because of Paddy’s help that we are now able to read her body language when another dog or person is approaching, manage the situation, and ultimately walk with ease and confidence. The progress Cherry made from our first meeting with Paddy to our last was like night and day. Cherry went from manically barking and biting at Paddy’s leg, to showing him complete trust by giving him kisses and allowing belly rubs. When it comes to understanding a dog’s behavior, he is extremely knowledgeable and, in a way, is like a translator for the dog. He can truly channel the dog within and trains us as the dog owners to understand a dog’s perspective.

Patty was so helpful with our puppy. So much of his focus is on training the humans to create an environment where the puppy is celebrated for learning and is excited to train/work. Our Labrador retriever in six weeks mastered recall, sit, down, place, leash walking and curbed some bad habits. We hired Patty when our lab was 3 months old and by 5 months he’s a very confident dog at the dog park and respectful in the house.

Patrick is simply the best! My wife and I approached him with our first puppy together- we were overwhelmed with our new puppy at first. Patrick helped calm these nerves right away. He helped train not only our cute little puppy from 9wks old, but he also trained us (an underrated component of puppy training!) He gave our puppy Lemon the tools and foundation she needed to thrive in our household and family. His approach is to start with a 6-week (1x /wk) puppy course to master the basics. From there we stuck with once a week to continue adding to her bag of tricks. Specifically, we spent a lot of important sessions teaching our strong pup to walk well on a leash. She’s since become a thriving 9mo old pup with a heck of a lot of energy, but a great temperament. Thanks to Paddy’s guidance and leadership. 10/10 would recommend Patrick for your puppy training, or adolescent/adult dog training.
