Emerald City Kitty Harbor Seattle, Washington

Me and my spouse adopted a beautiful Rat terrier by the name of June last November, the 6 month's were very rocky we found out she was dog aggressive very quickly after not showing any signs in the shelter, had bad stomach problems, and did not open up up easy wouldn't eat any food we gave her or drink water it was terrifying watch. Their staff was there every step of the way. the last 7 month's have been much better she is still dog aggressive which a shame multiple trainers have tried to help us. anyway thank you to the staff here we definingly got a little more than what we bargained for but we've all settled in no and she's doing much better in all other areas. We still wish find Junes brother but all replies for that request were ignored not a fault of theirs.

If you are looking for a healthy cat or kitten lifelong pal, you MUST go speak with Judy from Emerald City Kitty Harbor. Judy is so nice, legit, honest, kind and looking out for everyone's best interests! I promise! I have never had to surrender an animal. Still, Emerald City Pet rescue would be only choice if I found myself in that situation. Emerald City Pet rescue and EC Kitty Harbor has just a few animals for adoption; it is not a packed pet jail. Further, Emerald City rescue facilities, have their own vets in house so any time you adopt an animal from ECPR, you know that animal is healthy. The critiques of the amount of hoops you have to jump thru prior to adopting a dog or cat are accurate. They do that to prevent their adoptees from experiencing the unnecessary stress of continuing to bounce between new owners. Thankfully, unlike other cities in the U.S., we live in Seattle; most to all of our shelters are no-kill! Still, Emerald City pet Rescue and Kitty Harbor, goes way beyond consideration and transparency to both animals and potential adoptive parents.

After the passing of my 18 year old Siamese Athena Tina they found a perfect Siamese for me to fill the hole in my home!! They are incredibly thorough and care for their animals!

I am doing the animal foster care program and they have went above and beyond to help me in this process and the facilities are immaculate! These animals and customers are in great hands.

Awesome place to adopt. They make sure to find you a kitty who you will love and love you back. They're very thorough throughout the process to make sure you're a good match for the cat. I got the best floof though. Sorry guys he's taken...

Lovely healthy cats and kittens, being taken care of by some very sweet cat-people. If I could have another cat I would definitely feel confident that this would be a great place to find a match for me.

This website is awesome love it! It asks very specific questions and it's simple its takes you though a whole entire survey to see what animal exactly you are looking for then shows you everything it found. I recommend this website me and my mom plan to get a kitten soon and use this website and go look at kittens in store. For this website 5 stars definitely!!

I am so grateful for getting to meet the folks at Kitty Harbor. I used to live in West Seattle and reside now in Pittsburgh. I adopted two beautiful maine coon brothers and they have become such a bright light in my life. My two boys, Moose and Jack, just had their fourth birthday in November and I am so lucky to have them. Thanks Kitty Harbor for introducing me to most loving cats. I am so grateful!

This place seems great I have not been there but a friend told me that this was a great place so I give it 5 stars based on revised and I might adopt a kitty

Very well run adoption operation. Good checks and balances for both kitties and humans. Very carrying staff. I just dropped in walking by and am now considering adoption.

The people are really nice and it's a fairly easy facility to get to. Parking is tricky. I've been going every week for the last 2 months to find a kitten/cat and they tend to carry older cats more. I love their program but they lack the inventory.

They really care so much about the cats here. The medical screening they do is very thorough and my vet was very impressed. They also microchip all the cats. They are always available to answer questions even after you adopt cats. I highly recommend this shelter.

Very clean and comfortable space. Staffs were professional, friendly, and helpful.

The staff here is very knowledgeable and their love and care for these kitties is apparent in their every action and word! I came by to hang out with some kitties and ask a few questions about their foster program. They let me bother them about all sorts of kitty related things and were super nice and pleasant throughout! Awesome people caring for awesome kitties! Highly recommend a visit if you're interested in giving a cat a loving home or if you want to get some coffee and hang out (I believe the cafe there closes at 5pm on weekdays!). Enjoy! Give the kitties some love for me!

We walked in to visit a cat expecting a "normal shelter" and were very surprised and pleased to find a group of people dedicated to their jobs and finding the right matches for their cats. They do their absolute best to find the right cat for your lifestyle and deal breakers, so that both you and your new cat can find the purfect furrever home! They require a few character references, and proof that you're familiar with or willing to learn about cats to give them the best possible life. The cats get regular vet check-ups, good food, and a clean, well-maintained cubby for their stay. There are no same-day adoptions but they will shuttle your new cat to your home sun after the adoption along with a care package of food, a toy, their vet records, any medications, and an employee who will give you any last-minute updates and debrief on your specific kitty. (ours stayed for almost an hour to make sure my fiancee was fully debriefed!) They truly seem to care about their cats and the people looking to adopt them. We will actively encourage people to go visit their Kitty Harbor location if they're in need of a cat!

Shady. Pretentious. Something is going on that they don't want to talk about. Wife and I visited this weekend, and there was a STOP WORK order posted. So we went to their other location, EMERALD CITY PETS in SODO. They treated us not like upstanding, professional members of society, but like snotty 2nd grade children. Horrible customer service. Using polite words while treating clients in a demeaning manner results in sarcastic disrespect. You cannot view or visit their pets without first enduring a lengthy application process and scheduling an interview home visit so staff can determine whether you're "fit" to adopt a stray. Fees not listed. The Alki location was closed due to a STOP WORK order, and the receptionist at Emerald City Pets would not comment, but offered a short "I'm sorry" and brushed onto their screening explanation. What's the big secret? What did they do wrong that legal action was taken against them? Why are they so protective -- that you can't even VIEW the pets they claim are available for adoption? My wife and I will never return, and we hope our neighbors and viewers go somewhere else.

Got our kittens here! Friendly staff. Only problem is that at the time of review they could not accept credit cards.
