I am beyond furious writing this. We took our rescue pittbull mix here for daycare, he had one good day of the three we took him too spend the day here. Day two he came back and at the end of check out I was THEN notified that he had nipped at someone, I was never even called about this behavior. TODAY, I dropped him off and went to do my grocery shopping. I came home an hour and a half later and checked the cameras. My dog was alone, visibly upset and not even being watched by staff in a play room. I then call inquiring about this and I am told he was "attacking" other dogs. The blame was then placed on my dog, no one would tell me how it happened, the information surrounding these attacks, nothing beyond he was the issue. I have worked with dogs for over 15 years, the fact that I was not called the second there was an issue with my dog is inexcusable. Once we picked him up, he has been terrified and alert and jumpy. He was reactive leaving, which is a sign of extreme stress. The gross negligence and uneducated staff were the issue in this situation, not my dog. The manager was responsive, but only after a staff member got attitude with me over the phone when I got upset over the way my dog had been treated and handled. We will not be returning and if you have a bully breed, I do not reccommend you bring your dog here either. Spend the extra money and find an actual educated daycare/boarding facility that can handled dogs like this.

The one star is for availability and friendly staff and a clean reception area. My dog was boarding over the weekend and he came back hurt, stinking and sticky. He is really feeling down and suddenly scared of eveything around him, an otherwise over energetic friendly retriever. Would not recommend for boarding.

Bottom line: don’t use this location for boarding. They don’t follow there own standards and use unsafe practices in regards to the parks. My wife and I used this place for daycare a few times before boarding my dog for a week and wasn’t super impressed with the daycare but wanted to give them a chance. Main problems I encountered was that they don’t have the staffing needed and we’re letting dogs out each morning in the parks unsupervised before a handler arrived. As you can imagine dogs that we're cooped up all night were rather rambunctious first thing in the morning but there would only be a front office person up front while on the cameras they had 20+ dogs in the parks being aggressive, mounting repeatedly, and generally being wild. I even called to have my dog moved to an empty park my request was ignored twice because they were “too busy at the moment.” Basically my dogs safety wasn’t important. After having several other issues during the stay I contacted the corporate office and was informed that there should always be a handler present when the dogs are in the parks. I witnessed no handler in the park every single day while viewing the cameras online. My dog came back home and hasn’t been his normal self and it’s obvious he didn’t enjoy staying at CityDog in Ballard.

I would not trust to leave your dogs here. No one takes care of any doggie mess, they allow unvaccinated dogs to come here, they don't watch the dogs during the doggie day care, and there are never any managers on the weekend. Do not trust this place if you love your pups.

Used to be great! Now not so much. A few months ago I brought my terrier in for his usual grooming. I was shocked when he came out looking terribly uneven and choppy. I let it slide and tipped well anyway. Then last month I scheduled him again, only for them to call and cancel on me 1.5 hours before the appointment time. No big deal.. things happen. Plus they offered to make it right with a discount. Today I came back for said discount. I really appreciate them trying to make it right. But my dog came out looking like a rat who went through a wood chipper. The cut is super uneven again. I’m disappointed with the quality twice in a row now. Sadly I won’t be coming back. It’s not worth the $92 full price before a tip (small dog, full groom plus teeth, nails, glands, etc.)

Update: this was a while ago so management may have changed hands. They were spraying my dogs and other dogs during day care with water bottles for absolutely no reason. When I brought it up to the manager she shrugged me off. I sincerely hope things have improved since then but I took my dogs out of day care and will never go back. Original review: Our dogs have gotten groomed here and have been boarded overnight. Both times they came home happy and beautifully well groomed. It's clear these people care about dogs. I'll continue bringing my dogs here.

Had a confirmed grooming appointment, but they called the day before to cancel on me because “they don’t have enough time”. Apparently a confirmed appointment doesn’t mean anything.

We needed to board our dog last minute for a night and they were able to see us right away for a meet & greet. They assessed him and let him play with the other dogs. I also enjoyed getting a tour of the facility. Really nice, clean, and large space. Watching the dogs was so cute. I was able to watch our dog from my computer through their webcams that added some extra comfort. I really enjoy their flexible hours and late pick-up options. They also have several boarding options as well. Our dog will definitely be going back.

I had a couple great experiences getting my dog groomed. However, two of my appointments were canceled in a row and the people answering the phones, COMPLETELY RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL. So disappointed since I liked that place.

I used this place for boarding for years before I moved. It's very convenient, you can drop your dog off without a prior appointment. However the dogs don't do anything there, just mill around in a big room with hard floors and a fake fire hydrant. The attendants don't show them much attention. My dog came back smelling like dog pee fairly often. When you add in the cost for a walk or two (which you have to pay extra for) it can actually be a little expensive for what it is.

Wonderful team! We brought our lab here for a bath and definitely will be back. We loved how fresh and clean the space felt & smelled. Too many dog groomers & daycares smell bad these days and this place was definitely way better than the competition!!!

So pleased with everything! The groomers were extremely good and pleasant. The cuts for both dogs were perfect and done in a very timely manner. Would highly recommend!

Big daycare, you don't really need a reservation to drop your dog there in the morning. We've boarded our doggo twice here and she's had a fun time!

Apparently online booking for grooming is unreliable. They do not update their online availability regularly. Twice I have been duped by their online booking portal. Most recently I booked an appointment a couple days in advance, only to receive a call saying they were already booked and had no availability that day. Their online portal however shows full afternoon availability. I suggest you call to book ????‍♂️

Great place for grooming. They did a nice job on my labradoodles hair.

I've always had problems with Citydog! Club. From cancelled appointments (from their end) to telling us that they are running behind and can't groom our dog. The worst is that you have to make appointments weeks in advance just to end up dealing with bad customer service.

I take my dog (a havanese) to City Dog five days a week for daycare. He loves it. He is always excited in the morning to get into the park. The people who work there have always gone above and beyond. Wouldn’t think about going elsewhere. Bonus, they are open until 9 so if I need to work late or grab dinner with friends I don’t have to rush.

Our dog is a big baby about getting groomed but the people at City Dog make it a lot less traumatic for her.

My dog loves this place. Prices are in line with other area businesses and they're conveniently located for me. My dog gets so excited when he sees one of the staff coming/going from work during our walks. Clearly they take good care of him when I'm away.

*Edited review* Following my initially poor experience with scheduling (below), the employee who I originally spoke with called me immediately after our interaction and apologized for everything. She then asked if we could come in the following week for a grooming appointment. Melissa did an excellent job grooming our doodle! Due to the prior inconvenience, they incorporated a blueberry facial and teeth cleaning on the house. She smelt so good and left so soft and fluffy! With this said, we will be going back to Citydog for grooming and recommend their services! My husband and I recently relocated to the area from South Carolina and were looking for a groomer for our goldendoodle. I scheduled an appointment by telephone over a month in advance, as this place seemed to have good reviews and is very close to our home. When scheduling the appointment, I explained that this was our first time using the grooming services, inquired if there were any groomers there who specialized in doodles, and scheduled it on this specific date, as I was off work. When I went in to meet the groomer and drop my dog off to be groomed, the lady at the front desk tells me that there is no appointment (today or any other day) under our name, nor do they have any emails regarding the appointment being scheduled. I explained to her that I made the appointment via telephone, thus there would be no email conversation. She proceeded to tell me their next available appointment is not until a month later. To add to the situation, she was not in the least apologetic, nor sympathetic that someone from their office clearly made a mistake, nor did she try to accommodate an alternate solution to a problem that their business had caused. Unfortunately, because of this unpleasant experience, I will not be referring them to other pup parents, and will be getting my pup groomed elsewhere.

The Citydog! Club in Ballard is FANTASTIC. I've been taking my puppy, Buddy, there for a few months there and he absolutely loves it - we can't get there quickly enough! He absolutely adores Brandi, Jo, and the whole team - they're like extended family members now. He gets so excited whenever we get within a block or two of their location, and he absolutely flips out when he sees one of the staff on the street. He loves everyone so much! He primarily goes for day care 2-3 days a week, an occasional grooming/bath, and just recently an overnight stay while I was out of town. I appreciate that I can rest easy, knowing he is in good hands with people I trust. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a great daycare or boarding facility for their furbaby.

We brought our 10-month old Bernedoodle in for a grooming appointment at City Dog and he looked great afterward. They were patient with him (he’s a 60lb puppy) and also gave us good tips for caring for his coat which is prone to matting. We’ll definitely go back!

I needed a last minute day care for my puppy when my building was doing fire alarm testing for 6+ hours the next day. I called them on a Sunday evening and was able to bring my dog in right away for a meet and greet. I love how responsive and flexible they are. The facility is clean and organized, the people are friendly and helpful. I was even able to watch him on the camera throughout the day. I immediately bought a Day Care Package so I can take him back. He played with lots of dogs and was exhausted when I brought him home. I love this place and so did he!

Thank you, City Dog, for making your facility a pleasant place for my dog to play and get lots of love. The staff is very nice and service is usually pretty quick. You can pay for extras such as feeding dinner, or having your dog walked. It's generally clean and bright, and they have a small retail area with the cutest doggie coats. I also have my dog bathed and groomed at City Dog and they always do a good job. Overall, I think anyone can feel good about doggie day care or boarding at City Dog.

Customer service can be hit or miss due to high turnover, but this place would be an easy 5 stars if they can find a way to start keeping the good ones, like Jo.

I have boarded my 3 pound teacup Yorkshire terrier, Pebbles, 3 times with City Dog in Ballard and plan to do so 2 more this year. They obviously care about the dogs and go way beyond what you would expect. Pebbles is a picky eater and at her first visit a handler went to Mudd Bay to get her some different food. Although she loves to play with the other dogs but is so tiny even the office staff take time to cuddle her and make sure she is not overwhelmed. When I need to travel I am confident that she will be well cared for at Ballard City Dog.
