Excellent Vet and care from Parkrose Veterinary Clinic! I first met Dr. Holmgren when I rescued a dog from the street. He identified the breed, gave her shots and a checkup, and noted that my small place was not a good place for a large, extremely active and fast dog. With no owner ever coming forward, I found her an extraordinary home on over 100 acres where she runs like the wind every day and is happy with her new older buddy, which she plays with all day. My tiny rescue feral kitty needing fixing recently. At a previous vet in Vancouver, they had opened the carrier - though I told them she was wild and would try to escape - without any caution and she escaped. Took them almost an hour to round her up - and this from a clinic on an extremely busy highway. The vet told me and thought I was "kidding" about what she would do...and then laughed about it. I didn't find it funny at all. Dr. Holmgren knew her circumstances and had me stay in the room while he opened the carrier from the top in a closed room. He said this would not scare her as much as opening the front and reaching in to grab her. She got a thorough checkup and gave me advice. Then, she got her first anesthetic with me there, then off to surgery. At all times, the doors were closed and they were careful. You can imagine how nervous I was. They called when she was through the operation and safely in a cage and told me when I could pick her up. They told me how to care for her and what to do and not do. So unlike the other clinic. She is doing great and I'm so thankful for their care and attention to my fur babies.

Our elderly dog had her teeth cleaned and received excellent care. Doctor Holmgren is a great veterinarian.

Dr. Holmgren is a practiced and experienced veterinarian, who knows his trade and provides quality care and service to his patients. As a first time patient, my blind, diabetic, twelve-year old pupper was examined with careful scrutiny, and Dr. Holmgren asked all the right questions to draw up an accurate health profile of my little buddy. He provided free glucose and ketone strips for urinalysis testing, offered to order insulin at a reduced price, and even provided a sample needle to help calculate and convert the dosage between my current U40s and his 1/3 ml gauge. Dr. Holmgren even opened the doors early and let us in before the clinic's opening time, since we had wandered over a half hour prematurely (I had the appt. time wrong). At the end of the visit, which was not rushed in any way, I felt like my handsome pupper was in experienced hands. I feel very fortunate that Parkrose Veterinary is practically in our backyard, and I believe the many reviews I read and researched before settling on this clinic were accurate and truthful, speaking to the years of experience and dedication that Dr. Holmgren provides to our furry friends. Very recommended.

My cat ended up getting fleas and a lot of scratching and itching I call them and they were able to get me in the same day which I was very thankful for and the vet did a very good job explained everything that he was going to do it was just a good experience

Dr. Holmgren is the very best! We first got to know him in 1989 when we adopted our first pet from MCAS. We moved 45 minutes away a week later and continued care here for several years. When our cat got in a weekend fight, we began seeing another vet nearer our home. Bad mistake on our part as that other vet was not a gentle, experienced vet like Dr. H. Dr. Holmgren has the most caring, gentle spirit we've ever met. He has been there through the joys of adopting 8 kittens/cats and lovingly and gently helped us say goodbye to 3 aged cats who got cancer. Dr. Holmgren and his wife are so dear to my family both the pets and the humans! He truly is a rare gem of a guy and a veterinarian! Wish we could give him more than 5 stars!

Dr. Ray is the best that's all there is to say. He doesn't guilt you into unnecessary tests or work. He's been doing a long time and knows his craft. Very reasonable prices too

Dr. Holgrem is the best. A very kind and “old school” veterinarian. I have a rescue hound who is very weary of meeting new men and she’s super comfortable with him. If you have a nervous or shy dog this vet is perfect. Unlike other clinics there’s no yapping dogs in the back and it’s not full of nervous energy. You feel like you’re just walking into someone’s quiet home. ????

Not always open, but very responsive and straight forward and affordable place to take your pet.
