This has been my vet for many years. Until the pandemic, I ran my own behavioral training, groomer, daycare, ect. business and I have a lot of working knowledge around veterinary (I was a vet major for 2 years before switching majors). All that said, I'm very picky when it comes to the care my animals get, and the services I recommend to my clients. I definitely recommend this vet office to anyone looking for a compassionate vet, great staff, and honorable service. No, they're not the cheapest in town, but they definitely aren't the most pricy either. I would say they are worth every penny I've spent over the last 5 or 6 years. Most recently, my mom had to euthanize her beloved German Shepherd, and we opted for at home euthanasia, and my mom decided she wanted to choose the pet funeral home. Traffic and other issues caused me to be delayed in getting to her place the following day. Unfortunately, all the crematoriums close around 4pm. With that, we struggled to find a place to take her body for cremation Her vet seemed upset with us choosing another place for the service, and refused to take her body. We called around to at least 20+ places asking for reference or resources. Finally, I called my vet (NW Neighborhood), and they said they would happily take her, even though she wasn't a patient of theirs. Not only did they store her body until pickup (they used one of our top 3 cremation facilities), they also got a beautiful hair clipping as a last minute request, free of charge! When I lost my girl in August 2021, her primary veterinarian donated a tree planting in her honor. The care, compassion, and true love for the animals really shows at this place, and I truly can't thank them enough for all the wonderful services they've provided (and will continue to provide my other animals)! I am happy to drive the extra distance, even though we've moved away from downtown. They're our forever vet! ????

Long-time client with three dogs. Absolutely terrific vets - Drs. Prull and Gowing, in particular - and top-notch care, especially in terms of more complex diagnoses and surgeries for older dogs with tumors, etc.

I am not typically one to take the time to leave reviews online, but I felt NW Neighborhood Clinic has earned one from me. We've been clients with many pets over the years, and this practice is filled with caring and compassionate individuals. My adult daughter entrusted us with her childhood Netherland Dwarf rabbit when she left for college, and the sweet girl is now going on 9. Both Dr. Becky Prull and Dr. Sarah McCormack have been fantastic regarding care for this tiny 2 lb rabbit, who has been battling various infections and afflictions in her senior years. Dr. McCormack was able to squeeze our bunny into her busy schedule last week in order to personally follow up on her care. Her level of care and communication has been extraordinary. We all know how overworked vets have been lately, but the vets I've worked with at NW Neighborhood Clinic never rush you, they answer all questions, and even reply to emails promptly. My pets can't talk to me, so I am grateful I have vets like these to help communicate on their behalf!

I’m super grateful for the consistent care I’ve received from the vets here over the years, especially Dr. Prull. The safety precautions they’ve put in place after the pandemic has been well considered and smooth. They did a great job. I wish we had been seeking care under better circumstances. I called an hour before close because my rabbit was in stasis and I knew it was bad. They got me in quickly, and showed myself and my rabbit compassion and care. I will not forget their kindness. Thank you for helping me through such a terrible day.

I would recommend every single vet at Northwest Neighborhood Veterinary Hospital without hesitation. My 13 year old dog has needed a variety of treatments over the years and the vets here are a wonderful mix of compassionate, creative with their treatment recommendations, and realistic.

From check in to check out the staff we're fantastic. Dr Prull was very professional and complete in her exam of my dogs and the discussion she had with me afterwards. Highly recommend this vet clinic.

The vet told me on two different occasions, verbatim: “your cat has an abrasion, is in pain, and needs dental attention immediately.” She even went so far as to tell me he will most likely need a tooth extracted. Let alone the major guilt trip she gave me for taking my time to find one more affordable than the one she suggested. He had his dentist visit yesterday. Not only does he NOT have a tooth that needs removed, his teeth are 100% TOTALLY FINE. The dentist said it was actually a very clean pet mouth compared to their normal clients. Absolutely perfectly fine zero signs of any issues at all. Needless to say: I WILL NOT BE BACK. I do not appreciate a business that will scare their clients into unnecessary procedures and expenses. My cat, and myself, did not need to be put through that. Shame on you.

Vet techs can't communicate or put a cat carrier back together the way it was when they took it apart.. if they can't work reassemble 3 pieces, how can they care for your pet?

Dr. Wycoff and the staff at NW Neighborhood Vet are THE BEST! The level of care and true love they give your furry family members is above & beyond. My girl Penny needed emergency help for an injured paw. They got us in quickly and got her all fixed up. They take great care here to make your pet feel comfortable and at-ease.

Just had my first appointment here to get my newly adopted cat checked out and the staff are absolutely the sweetest and kindest people. The information and assistance they provide during a visit is helpful and reassuring. I also love that they responded to the Covid situation accordingly and created a great process for visits. Dr. Prull was amazing and walked me through the check-up over the phone and made sure I had all my questions answered. A fantastic experience! ????

I moved to East Vancouver last year and still drive all the way to NW Portland to be able to continue seeing Dr. Prull and NW Neighborhood Vet. They are truly just the best.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!! My puppy and I are new to the neighborhood. He is having issues that require a vet appointment, and they are the only vet in the area. However, when I called to make an appointment, they told me there is nothing they can do. Without any knowledge of his symptoms, or any explanation of what’s been going on, they just said “No”. I’m concerned for his health and well-being, and I assumed that I could expect the same from the VET. When she told me to “try again in a few months” I said “well what if his condition worsens?” she responded “that’s not our problem” ???? I’m not sure how a veterinarian office that has such careless disregard for the health of pets in the neighborhood is reviewed so highly, but do yourselves a favor and go anywhere else.

We LOVE Northwest Neighborhood. Dr. McCormack is attentive and gentle with our aging dogs and we have never had anything except wonderful care from all the folks here. After moving across town, we still come here and will continue to do so! They are the best.
