I love that we have a pet store in our little city. It would be better if they had a larger variety of animals. It would also be nicer if they had more employees.

The store could do better but corporate shoots themselves in the foot at this location. When they get skilled workers they put stipulations on them to keep them from being successful which also causes stress in the work environment. They're constantly rotating staff because of this and I'm sure other factors. At least in the fish department they are unable to get as many orders as the Hayden location due to sales performance, so I'm sure many locals make the trip to Hayden to find better diversity. At one time they had a very knowledgeable person in the fish department that cared and tried to help you to be successful with your aquarium but he left due to corporate politics and stress. Pros: Great staff that care. Cons: Staff is under paid. Skilled workers get recognized by staff and pressured by corporate. Staff is unable to get many orders that Hayden can because the store doesn't make the some amount of income as the Hayden location. (Income generated determines things that can and can't be successfully ordered to the location) PetCo only cares about how much they make. Granted it's a business but caring about your clients and their pets goes hand and hand with this kind of business and this location struggles due to corporate policies and lack of diversity due to the higher income at other locations.

Great big thanks to Gretchen for all the time and care she put in during our puppy classes with our pup Jasper. Gretchen communicates really well and her love for the dogs she teaches shows at each and every class.

1)Your employees are not particularly warm and friendly 2)Your are out of our dog food brands a great deal of time....most importantly Purina ProPlan,Focus,adult sensitive skin and stomach,salmon and rice entree.Rarely does a manager say hello and offer assistance.Thanks for the opportunity to pass along our thoughts.George Cordingly,Clark Fork,Idaho.

Very cramped compared to other stores in the chain. Not kept very organized. Not handicap friendly outside of the main aisles

Well Lonnie helped me pick out the right hampster for my 5 year old son. The last one we got was too fast and wanted to run away. And some of the male hamsters would try to nibble on your fingers over and over. So he helped me to find the right one and he showed me how to pick them and bring them out of the cage so that they dont nibble, and he allowed me to hold several of them to pick the perfect fit!!=) I really appreciate it. And aiden is loving his hampster!!!

Petco is always so helpful if we have a problem with our many intricate fish tanks at my home.. Some times we have some emergency fish problem happen, so we gotta call into Petco and have them try and resolve the issue as best they can first over the phone and then once we get to the store... Either usually with a dead fish in tow, or a broken aquarium piece, valve, or what not, in which case, the person who is in charge there at Petco, always has resolved our issues or complications in a manner that my mother and I are ALWAYS satisfied with! Thanks Petco & the management also!!! ???????? ????????????

One of the team members went above and beyond for my child to see all the animals. He pulled open the tarantulas and lifted the hiding spot so he could see. Thank you. Love this Petco! Always takes care of my concerns.

5 stars! Petco in Sandpoint is a very thoughtful company to the animals / reptiles they have. We have purchased 2 Gieco’s from there and they are healthy, full of life and well maintenanced.

I have been in a lot of Petcos and this one by far had a lot of options of different things to choose from. The gentleman that took care of my online pickup order was very quick and polite. I would gladly go there again but I live in Post Falls. I did drive out of my way to go there because they were the only store that was near by that had what I needed. Thank you for everything.

This Petco has never had many employees so it's hard to find someone to help with advice, but the groomers are great!

This is really the best Petco around. The employees are very knowledgeable and truly love and care for all the animals in the store. I've gotten a lot of great advice and help from the employees here.

Always a pleasure to visit Petco! Great people, great service. Everyone is extremely friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and always willing to allow me to pick their brains so as to ensure my two little dogs get the very best of care. Every employee in the Ponderay Petco store deserves a merit increase! Thanks for your time.

Customer service is lacking. Front staff too busy looking at a puppy vs willing to assist a gentleman in need of finding a product. An aggressive acting dog was allowed in the store. I understand having the opportunity to expose a dog to new experiences, but allowing it to growl at other pets and shoppers both by it's owner and the staff in the store watching this occur is a bad situation waiting to happen. When a customer asks about a product and it's location simply telling them "we have a whole section of that" vs taking the time to show them or telling them specifically where to find said product would be nice.
