I'm glad this place got our dog in and the staff was so kind even though I got a bit irritated at the end .. only thing I didn't think was completely correct was there was barely any communication .. I had to call to get updates .. and becareful of the sidewalk on the corner by there street . It has a lip and that fall hurts ..

We had to put a dog down here a few weeks back, and I couldn't have asked for a more gentle, compassionate yet quick to act Sunday morning crew. Everyone from the receptionist to nurse to doctor to tech was so compassionate. They were quick to respond to our urgent need and gentle with the process to put her down. In a dimly lit room with calm music playing on the wall-mounted speaker bar, we were given as much time as we needed. Although it was a sad morning, I was so grateful we came here. Thank you to the AM shift on 1/23/22 to take such good care of us.

I felt good about leaving my deceased baby boy Sid Vicious with them because as soon as you arrive some one meets you out in the parking lot immediately after your arrival and tjey quickly took my information and with compassion for my loss of a loved one they took him away with care. I thank you so much for the love and care that was shown to me and my little man may he forever RIP .. I will forever love you Sid Vicious Bunnell

Friends recommended OVS Cancer Center to me when the learned that I was unable to schedule care for my 10-year-old dog, who had been diagnosed with an “aggressively infiltrative” tumor, in what I felt was a reasonable amount of time. My own vets had told me that this tumor needed to come out ASAP; they couldn't do the surgery themselves; the local vet school was booked out for months. I had an appointment for a consult with Dr. Parshley within days of contacting the main office. Since I was traveling from 330 miles away (450 miles when Snoqualmie is closed), Olympia Veterinary Specialists went out of their way to accommodate my need to have the surgery consult and surgery on the same day, then consecutive day appointments for the surgery follow-up and oncology follow-up. I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Parshley and Dr. Mouat. Dr. Parshley's knowledge and experience exceeds my local vets and diagnostic institutions. I was amazed that Dr. Mouat was able to tell what position my dog had been in when having her punch biopsy, and to add a splenectomy to my dog's prior history when the records OVS had requested were not sent by the hospital which performed it. Though I was of course anxious about my dog’s condition when speaking with them, I enjoyed our conversations. Both are thorough, easy to understand, and personable. I have been singing Olympia Veterinary Specialists’ praises to all my pet-owning friends since I returned from my dog's final follow-up appointments. My experience with the techs and nurses who greeted, got and returned my dog was excellent as well. There were a few snafus with the office staff, but they were cheerfully corrected. Despite the distance from my rural location, I would travel again to OVS in a heartbeat.

It's hard to make this as short as possible. My pitbull was diagnosed with a thyroid disorder on top of a tumor on his spleen. So when we went to have a operation done on his thyroid they didn't run a scan on his neck just his spleen so we had to pay for a failed operation as they didn't do enough home work. Then the surgery department, we asked tons of questions and they couldn't give us a life expectancy after he had the surgery done on his spleen. Which per what Google says and other vets is 3 to 6 months during the course of chemo. My pitbull is 11 by the way. If you use this vet do your own research and get second opinions if you have the time. They will tell you want you want to hear just so they can get paid. This whole process was expensive and cut into what I had available to actually help my dog who ended up passing on the 1st of the year.

Will NEVER go here again. Took my dog here whom was immediately admitted on Thanksgiving day. Attempted to call about results multiple times and as of Jan 20th, still can't get anyone to call me back. The absolute WORST vet service around. Others I've spoke to agreed and make the extra drive to Tacoma if need be for an ER visit.

My cat, Sir Fredrick jumped up onto my woodstove tonight after I had lit a fire. He was hurt and scared, and I had no idea how to help him. On my initial call a gal was super helpful and sent me other options for care, and treated me with dignity while I cried. I drove many miles to bring him to OVS, and my car overheated on the way in, to say I was a stressy mess was an understatement. Angel was there to assist me from the moment I pulled in. Following Covid Guidlines to a T. Empathetic, helpful, and reassuring, I couldn't have been blessed with a better experience. The doctor who saw Fred was a straight shooter and I had the feeling my cat son was in knowledgable hands.Fred is home and a little upset to have to wear his collar, but his paws are still on his body and I'm so thankful he is ok . ???? I love my friend and needed someone to help us and OVS came through. Thank you guys.

Against my better judgement based off these reviews, I took my senior dog here with a distended stomach at 3:30PM. I have unfortunately had to go to emergency vets with my dog, but this was truly the used car salesmen of emergency vets. More time was spent on providing cost estimates than actual treatment (he received none). The vet on staff confirmed it was fluid in the stomach either from heart failure or a tumor (he does have a heart arrythmia). After being quoted $2K-$4K for diagnostics that didn’t include a cardiologist, I said I wanted to take him home and see our specialist at 7AM. I was told that releasing him would be against medical advice and I would have to sign a waiver to get him back. They made it sound dire and that he would need to get the fluid extracted that night. I was able to get a quote for $450 to just remove the fluid and it was then bumped up to $600 for miscellaneous expenses. I was told I would receive a call at 9PM or 10PMwhen he was done. I called at 10:15PM and was told he hasn’t been seen and it would be several more hours until he would have the fluid removed. WHY would you say he may not make it through the night without removing fluid if you had no intention of removing the fluid that night?! I went to pick him up at 10:45PM- 7 hours after he was dropped off, with a $300-$600 bill (the final bill was never provided to me) and absolutely no treatment. The previous shift would not release him without a waiver and the new shift just brought him on out. The vet tech even said “sorry, they didn’t tell us about him.” So he was just sitting in a cage with a potentially life threatening issue that they forgot to inform the next shift about? I 100% understand staffing is an issue. If you are capacity, tell people that. Taking in animals so you can get your $200 minimum emergency fee, giving them dire sentences, and then not treating them is not acceptable and not ethical. I drove 2.5 hours to an even busier emergency vet and my dog was seen immediately for x-rays, bloodwork, and an ultrasound. Within 3 hours we had a diagnosis for liver cancer, medication, instructions, and a $350 bill for all of it. My dog’s regular vet also said draining his stomach would likely cause shock and death, so we’re glad we took him away from here.

Our dog passed away due to your incompetence. Don't call your services EMERGENCY if you can't provide that service, either because you are UNDERSTAFFED or you have technical issues! Our Zoe was in clear distress but she was dismissed as in stable condition, although she was shaking and clearly unwell. The blood work and urine testing came back in 24 HOURS (and cost a whooping $700), once it was 10 hours too late because SHE PASSED AWAY. The test showed a severe electrolyte imbalance that could've easily been treated and would've saved Zoe if she was truly taken care of when we brought her in!

I called this evening trying to get records and assistance with my grandmothers dog, who is ill. I am a vet tech and live out of state and honestly expected it to be somewhat of an ordeal. It was not at all! Kristen was so helpful, with getting me the help and information I need to help my grandmother and her dog. I would recommend this business based solely off of their willingness to help out. I got the email right away, and Kristen was an absolute delight. Thank you so Much Olympia Vet Specialists.

This companies communication strategy is less than desirable. Send an email to request a phone call, call the office and then get told to email to “talk”. Ridiculous process. And after all that we still don’t have a synopsis of what’s going on with our dog. This dance has been going on for a few days shy of a month. 8/10 do not recommend.

Our dog Lassie fell off a 25 foot stairwell at the capital campus and broke her back leg in two places. The hospital was at capacity but after a quick conversation and realizing the absolute emergency status she was in, they brought her in to stabilize her and relieve her pain. She had surgery the next day and we picked her up the following day. Dr Mouat and the rest of the surgery team did amazing work on her and she is now in her 7th day of recovery. Thank you to OVS and to all the staff who took such excellent care of our Collie Lassie!!

Called ahead to have our dog seen who was having a severe allergic reaction and were told he would be seen. After a 40 minute drive, we were told they were at capacity and didn't even have a night vet on duty. How can you offer 24hr emergency vet service without a doctor present? And seeing from previous reviews, it seems to be a trend that you are told you will be seen when you call but then turned away when you get there. Super disappointed and will never return there. Got excellent care very quickly at Olympia Pet Emergency instead.

While i am so grateful that i could find a place to help my littlefoot, i will leave here feeling robbed as the quality of their customer service dropped immensely after my dog went inside and i was charged for tests twice. Staff told me their billing dept. will maybe handle it later and maybe give me a refund if they catch it. Not to mention the $1000 bill for an outpatient care kit.

Both times we have had an emergency, this office is closed due to staff calling out. Absolutely wild to travel with an injured dog to a 24/7 fully staffed ER clinic and it’s closed.

O. V. S are the BEST of veterinary care around, We highly recommend them. Recently my brother was out fishing and his "Baby Girl" decided to chase someones hook while casting. The hook caught her in the eye . He had to get her to a vet …

Dr Chris George, from internal medicine and his team are amazing, very committed to helping his patient. My dog was very sick and we have been to several hospitals and clinics trying to figure out what was causing him to be so sick and Dr Chris George found what was causing his illness. He did everything staying on the lower side of cost, was very empathic and kept us informed the whole time. After learning that our dog needed surgery we made an appointment with Dr Emily Mouat, she is very professional, extremely gifted and honest. She did a surgery on our fur baby that was complicated and thanks to her and her team today our pup is doing much better. During this stressful time her and her team have been very empathic, kept us informed and very helpful. I will forever be grateful to all the amazing professionals that work at this clinic. I have nothing bad to say.

I left a message with this Oncology Dept. On Monday morning at 7:00 am asking for a callback to get my dog in emergently. I provided a brief explanation that the ER vet had found a mass on her spleen on Sunday. I assumed they know that this type of cancer is prone to ruptures which causes your pet to bleed out thus the sense of urgency. Did not recieve even a call back unti today, Thursday, 2 days to late. I guess they have gotten big enough not to care if they lose one or two. Side note, I spent over 10k at this facility for my other dog. I was not a new customer. Do not expect any return loyalty folks!

After an initial visit that was expensive but necessary, I have never been able to get animal in when we've had any emergencies. Don't bother- they really DON'T CARE and will send threatening text messages.

We called at 2:00 am to see if they could get our cat in. The staff explained they were at capacity and recommended calling again at 8:00 am but that Oly Pet Emergency was taking patients. The staff we spoke to were nice and we appreciated the recommendation to Oly Pet Emergency. Both emergency clinics are overwhelmed with the volume of animals needing medical attention and Are doing the best they can to accommodate pet owners.

We had a pet emergency and they were able to fit us in while other clinics could not. Clinics from Shelton to North of Seattle were full and could not help us. We received exceptional service and we are so thankful! The staff was compassionate and professional. Highly recommend!

Our border collie needed an emergency C section. We called them and the said to bring her in. We live an hour away. When we got there they said they couldn't help and the lady wanted to argue about who told us to go there, basically calling me a liar. Finally I yelled at her and said what matters is where I can take my dog now! She finally gave me a suggestion and I hung up!

I just took my dog over there to have an ultrasound and they were very kind, prompt, and informative. I felt like they really wanted me to understand her diagnosis and they answered every question I had. Veterinary practices and especially emergency is so busy nowadays and no one gets enough recognition. The staff here does amazing, life-saving work and I see you guys doing the work everyday that needs to be done and then some! Very appreciative
