Northwind Pet Care Center Olympia, Washington

We have been taking our heeler here since she was 4 months old for boarding. This place is awesome, and the secret is out. Make sure you book early, especially around the holidays or your doggie will miss out. The staff is so caring. I love ready their notes from our dog's play or snuggle time. There are a wide range of services to pick from so our dog always comes home pleasantly exhausted and well cared for. The price is fair and they provide a great value. They offer a veteran's discount, which is very cool.

Great place to get your pet groomed. Also great for boarding when you need to.

Fancy and crowded. Over 8 hours to get groomed and his nails were not up to standard. Not sure if we need to return. This place is huge and is there for like a big machine.

I was recommended this place from a family member. So I drove down from Seattle to try it out. Northwind surpassed my expectations! I boarded 2 of my dogs for 7 days and when I picked up them, they looked so happy and healthy. A nice touch was when I was checking out, I got a rundown of their week. I was given details on their eating, socializing etc. Also, I added a grooming session and it turned out SOOOOO ADORABLE. They know their stuff and I will be back!

Place was clean and the staff great. Groomers there did a fantastic job as well. I felt like my dogs where very well cared for.

We are happy to find such a nice clean resort for our Roxy! The staff was great at responding to my emails throughout her one week stay!

So I booked my spot for my dog a month in advance this is my first time ever dealing with any boarding facility so brand new experience when I booked the spot the lady on the phone said “ok your dog is all set to be dropped off September 5th” i call today Sunday September 5th just to make sure everything was fine the lady on the phone says “oh ya everything is fine just bring your dog and vaccination records” again this is my first time dealing with any boarding facility so I said wait you all didn’t tell me this before hand when I booked it otherwise I would have had those records ready all the lady said was well it’s standard to require vaccination records at boarding facilities I get that what I don’t get is you don’t tell me when reserving the spot you tell me Sunday when my vet is closed the day my flight leaves now I have to cancel a ticket last minute because of lack of information on your end in a just world I would be holding you accountable for any cancelation fees I have to now pay

They constantly amaze me at how much they love animals. Sometimes it's hard to get them on the phone, but don't let that deter you. They are always so nice and friendly. We've kenneled our 2 dogs here for many years and trust them completely

This team did a horrible job grooming my two Newfoundlands. They shaved them, even after I instructed them not to. A week following our appointment, both of my dogs were diagnosed with kennel cough! Worst experience I’ve had in over 25 years.

This facility was very clean and had great customer service. However, our two dogs are now sick and both came down with this illness a few days after coming home from Northwind. It appears to be kennel cough. They are both vaccinated so maybe this is a different strain that the vaccine didn’t cover. We asked that the dogs not play with others So they wouldn’t catch something, so maybe they caught a bug while in the play area (without other dogs there) during cleaning (which we gave permission to do). This is the second time our dogs have come home sick after staying at Northwind Kennels. Not happy.

Wonderful place, I would not take my dogs to any kennel but here.

Boarded my cat for a few days. The staff was super friendly and very professional, couldn't be happier that we chose Northwind. Beautiful place and very clean, impressive to say the least. Scrappy even got a report card,so I call it. Loves people but other cats not so much,HA! That's my boy. Thank you folks so much for taking such good care of him.

This is my favorite grooming place and I have tried alot of them around town! The staff is very friendly and professional. They listen carefully to what you expect for your furbaby and what you need. It doesn't take a long time to get an appointment and unlike some of the other groomers they are not overpriced. I would definitely recommed Northwind to anyone looking for a fantastic groomer!

People are nice, dogs love it. Definitely the cleanest and nicest place to bring your pets if you care about how they will be treated.

Beautiful grounds. I Only had my pups nails done but, from what I saw the pups looked happy and we'll cared for. They have some gorgeous horses there as well.

I've boarded my 2 AmStaffs here a few times and used the grooming service once so far, and I think they're great. On our first boarding experience, we were toured around the kennels to see where our dogs would be staying, which eased some concerns. They also allow my dogs to share a kennel, which is great because they are very codependent. They welcomed any and all questions to make sure I was comfortable, even encouraged me to call and check in on my pups during their stay. Highly recommend.

Most affordable kennal. Great staff. Had to board my 2 dogs with borderline fear aggression (only barking and little growling) from not get socialize with people enough they stayed for a little over 70 days durring our move. They did not charge extra just told staff to go slow with them when the where ready read to come home they where 100% cured of their fear of new people now can walk them past people and have people walk past the car with zero reaction it was awesome to know since they stayed so long everyone spent extra time with them giving them extra love for me. Would use them again!!!!

We had to board our 2 miniature Australian shepherds for 4 nights and chose this place based on the reviews. We paid a little more to allow our boys extra playtime and for them to get baths the day of pickup. First off, during our drop off it was very thorough and I highly appreciated that! They have profiles for each dog and they apply your preferences to your dogs stay. For instance, our dogs eat a special diet in a slow feeder and they have to sit & be told to eat for each meal. Their stomachs also get upset easily with certain treats so we wanted the staff to be aware when giving treats (but I wanted them to still give our boys treats!) They wrote each preference on the dog’s profile and it was applied to their visit. When we picked up our dogs, they were so excited and smelled so good after their baths. The lady at the front told us they were “good boys!” And when they gave us back their food bowl, each bowl had a label with my dogs name and their special diet/preferences. Very impressed! And we didn’t get the ability to view the facility prior to our boarding but I was so impressed with the grounds once we got there. What a beautiful place! I felt like I was dropping my dogs off at a resort! The place is so well maintained. It doesn’t even smell like dog (how do they do that?!) They are pricey but what you get in return is so worth it. I want a place that I trust & this place is it. If you think you’re dogs deserve the best too, then this place is it. Thank you for taking care of Roman & Magnus, Northwind!

The BEST home away from home for dogs and cats. My family and I have been boarding here since we moved to Washington over 15 years ago!

We board our dogs here whenever we go out of town. They always take amazing care of our dogs. They know them by name and even remember how one of my dogs has back problems and asks after her. I totally recommend Northwind for pet boarding!
