The owner treats her staff very poorly, telling them one thing and then doing another thing, i would never wanna bring my dogs to a place that treats her staff very poorly and a very rude person

I know Roberta is a dog breeder and runs a kennel, however she had a litter of rag doll kittens last May and we got our boy from her. He was so well adjusted when we brought him home, it was obvious he was well socialized, wasn't frightened by loud noises or children or anything, except maybe the vacuum. He has adjusted perfectly and we adore him!

I sent my 2 small dogs to Darling Dogs for 17 days while I was on a family vacation. When I picked them up, it was very obvious my dog Sophie had lost enough weight that her ribs and backbone were clearly protruding. Once I got home, I tried to feed her and she wouldn’t eat, seemed depressed, and was clearly not herself. Although she looked emaciated, her belly was extremely distended. Both dogs were drinking water excessively. At this point, I was very worried about Sophie and took her to the vet who was quite concerned over her body condition and weight loss, dehydration and bloated stomach. She was put on an IV for 2 hours to rehydrate and had to go through sedation. Worried that Sophie may have a blockage, my vet did x-rays which showed her stomach was expanded three times the normal size and was full of food. It’s a mystery how she could be emaciated yet somehow, she had gorged herself with food… The owner of Darling Dogs said she had no idea what happened, but said it’s possible that Sophie got into another dog’s food. The only other explanation that I can think of is that, once they went to get Sophie ready for me to pick her up, they finally noticed how skinny she was and overfed her in hopes it would be less noticeable. Both of these ideas are very upsetting to me. Whatever the case, I can’t believe that the staff could have not noticed how much weight she was losing in their care. Obviously, for whatever reason, Sophie was not eating or getting food, and no one noticed what was happening. I contacted the owner at least 3 times while I was gone to see how my dogs were doing, and each time I was told they were doing very well or “amazing.” This was obviously not true because I came home to a dog that was emaciated. My veterinarian was almost as upset as I was about the state of Sophie. X-rays, IV, blood work and urine analysis were done, and I was sent home with two kinds of medication and special food. I spent over $800 to make sure she was okay. I explained to the owner about what happened and sent her the x-rays, pictures of Sophie, and a copy of the vet’s report and bill. She did not take any responsibility for what happened, never offered to compensate, never apologized, and never even asked how Sophie was doing. Her attitude was “everyone makes mistakes.” I understand that mistakes can happen, but there is just absolutely no way that it should be possible for a dog to become visibly emaciated with no one noticing. That’s not a mistake – that’s negligence. I hope that no one else's dog has to go through what my dog did. A picture is worth a thousand words and you can be the judge of what happened to Sophie. My pictures will not post on Google reviews for whatever reason, but if you wish to see the pictures of Sophie they are on Darling Dogs' Yelp page.

I have been taking my dog to Roberta for 14 years. We started when Maggie was 4 months old, to start obedience training, and have used her for boarding exclusively over the years. We’ve followed her from her original Port Kells location to the current Aldergrove one. Her operation has always been clean, safe, well run and professional. I recommend Roberta and Darling Dogs to anyone needing daycare and boarding services. Extremely happy with the care she has always provided to our Maggie.

My dog has been barking so much at the kennel that his throat has been sore and he has had difficulties in barking and crying.

This is one of the few kennels with large grassy areas for the dogs to run in. Staff are friendly and the facilities are clean. Our dog loves it there.

Wonderful establishment. We had never taken our rescue to daycare before, and although he is great with all dogs, he was abandoned before so there was fear of him not dealing with being left very well. Roberta was so welcoming and over the top accommodating. She even allowed me to use a gift certificate I had from quite a while back!! We had our plans change last minute and she was able to accommodate our dog into daycare within a days notice. All the staff there really love the animals and are so friendly and easy going. The facility is newly renovated with various kennels for different sized dogs, heated floors, holding kennels if you drop off early, and different segregated play areas depending on the needs of your dog. Our dog loved it after his second day. Highly recommend!

If you are looking for the cutest and best disposition Morkie puppies, Roberta has them! Being new pet owners she has been an invaluable resource for us with their care, which we found she takes very seriously. We have two of her puppies, they are about 1.5 years apart. We couldn't imagine having had a more helpful and responsible dog breeder/lover

Was so happy to find this Kennel but I think my dogs were even happier! They race towards the front door when they get out of the car and never seem to want to go home with us, they always have such a great time. Really huge property, really really clean facility and the care and attention that our dogs get is amazing. It's really nice to be able to say our dogs names and the staff know who we're talking about as if they're people.

Awesome facility! We left our dog there for the weekend and he was so happy she we came to see him. The while place was clean and modern the dogs got plenty of Excercise, and the staff were loving and passionate about dogs.

We bring our 3 month old pup to Roberta and her team for daycare on weekdays. They have been nothing but a pleasure to deal with, and helped calm my worries of dropping our little guy off for his first kennel experience. He now loves the days there, and comes home happy and tired. It has been a terrific experience.

I met Roberta roughly 4 years ago when I first got my puppy and have been bringing him to her since day 1. She is so nice, and cares so much about her business. I don’t trust anyone else with Scruffy but her. I drive all the way from Richmond to drop my baby off there. I always know he is safe and happy, which makes me happy. Her facility is fantastic. Heated kennel, different pens for different sized dogs, lots of room to run around and play. When I tell Scruffy he’s going to Roberta’s, he kisses me the whole car ride. Love you Darling Dogs!!!

I brought my puppy in for training (almost 4 years ago) on a recommendation from a friend. Roberta is an awesome trainer and a great person. Her staff are also friendly. Facility is clean, secure and there is a ton of room for the pups to play! My dog is so obsessed with going to Darling Dogs, that he actually knows where we are going. I don’t trust anyone else. I always know he is safe in Roberta’s care :)

We came to this breeder just to look at the puppies, it was impossible not to leave with one! The puppies are all so happy and the facility is very clean and organised. Roberta was so patient and let us play with all of the puppies and did not rush us to make a decision. I would recommend Darling Dogs to anyone who needs a puppy, groomer or a dog trainer! Thank you Roberta!!
