Expensive, but good. The vet was knowledgeable and helpful even outside of her specialty.

TLDR: Dr. Victoria Jones is amazing. My cat Dio's recovery speed is miraculous. Details: The appointment system is urgency-based, so I was able to get my cat a spot in only 3 days. Dr. Jones' treatment is very effective and the instructions given are very clear and written on paper. The fee is also reasonable.

Our Diva Inu was returned to us wobbly but well. Looking forward to 7/5 when she stops being a Cone Head.

This is not the place to go for any matter of urgency. My dog had an injury to her eye, and it was incredibly difficult to find a place to treat her, but this office takes the cake for maximum paperwork and minimum help. Might be great for chronic or long term issues, but don’t think there is any help for anything urgent. There isn’t. This is like the DMV for pets.

I have had to bring my cat here multiple times over the last year or so. Everyone I have interacted with here have been professional and kind. They handled the pandemic really well, with me staying in the car and talking to the doctor over the phone to having a great text messaging system for quick communication. As for my cat? He had no complaints beyond having to go in the first place. I think that is the best I can get from him. His eye treatments are helping him and he is clearly less uncomfortable or in pain.

This place is amazing. They really do their best to make your cat comfortable and save their eyes, but they're also honest when it's time to remove them. They are trustworthy and professional as well as kind and compassionate. ❤

If I could give zero stars I would. I brought my 5.5 month old Shih Tzu to. locl emergency vet on Saturday, they referred me to an opthalmologist for my dog. On Monday I contacted NWAE. She had a puncture in her left eye and appears to have some new damage to her right eye. She isnt seeing well. I called NWAE and not only is their intake rediculous but they said the soonest they could see her was September. It is now May! How is that even reasonable. To clarify, the paperwork from the emergency vet says she has corneal ulceration in her right eye. We are giving topical antibiotic per orders. and followup with my vet. My vet doesn't specialize in eyes. So I contacted NWAE. Their receptionist wasnt helpful and barely wasnt rude.

Our 1 year old Charpei, Koro, needed entropic surgery. Dr. Zirofsky did an amazing job! We opted to do both eyes. He is back to his normal self, only 3 weeks after surgery. Thank you to all the staff!

I love this team. This is the third ophthalmologist my dog has received care from but I'll never go anywhere else now that we've found them! All the staff are kind, professional and compassionate. Dr. Zirofsky is a gem and I'm so thankful for her expertise. Honestly, this is one of the few places I feel entirely comfortable handing the leash over. Some might balk at the cost but I think the diagnostics and experience are worth every penny and my dogs vision is worth it. Lastly, I cannot express how blown away I am at how punctual they are at every visit and how thorough the reporting is to my regular vet. Combined with the ability to ask all questions, the experience literally couldn't be better.

NW Animal Eye Specialists, especially Dr. Zirofsky is incredible and very compassionate towards our beloved Mattie (19 years old). They have been treating her eye for 2 years from the initial hemorrhage, surgical treatment and stabilization. Highly recommend them for all of your furry friend eye needs. Ask your vet for a referral to get a faster appointment if it is an urgent need because they are busy and book 2-3 months out.

I paid for a very expensive corneal transplant; over $2500. The follow up visits would, I thought, be short and reasonable. The first was free but he wasn’t healing. The expectation was a visit every week until he did. Each of the subsequent 4 weekly visits added more expensive medications, some VERY expensive ones he couldn’t even use due to reactions, but each week was over $200 and over $300 this 4th visit!!! Over $3500 in a bit more than a month. The little follow up visits post op should never cost that much! I’m in medicine and we don’t charge that for human post op visits. So I can’t afford to bring back my poor little dog even though he is still not healed. Nice people, way overpriced. Be sure you know what surgery will cost in total before you do it! Don’t know what I’m going to do except do my best to treat him myself. I need to add that when the vets read the review, they were kind enough to see Bandit another time or 2 to monitor healing at no cost. He never has fully healed but he was older and that contributes. I appreciated their response

Dr. Zirofsky is an exceptional veterinary ophthalmologist. She rapidly assessed my dog Stella's eye issue through her detailed and focused examination to provide a differential diagnosis for Stella's eye. Importantly, Dr. Zirofsky's diagnosis enabled us to act before anything more advanced presented. She explained everything at precisely the right level of detail and I felt completely confident in the plan moving forward and relieved to know we were able to act proactively for Stella. I would strongly recommend Dr. Zirofsky without hesitation.

Our little girl a Whisky first arrived 3 months ago in a state where we thought she might need to lose an eye through glaucoma. Yesterday she was given the all clear - her vision has never been better. I could not be happier with the outcome or the way they walked us through her care. Thank you.

⚠️!!!!!DO NOT GIVE THEM BUSINESS!!!!!!⚠️ I wish I didn’t have to give them any stars! But you have to in order to write a review so here it is. By far the worst experience I have ever been through. Jen the receptionist is the most rude person I have ever talked to. Telling me I can’t tell the vet what they can and can’t do on my dog. I would 100% not recommend calling this place if by chance you don’t get someone rude on the line they are going to cause you to go into to bankruptcy so if your dog needs help with their eyes go somewhere else! I never write reviews on any business but this was so bad that I needed to get this out so I can hopefully save someone else from this happening to them.

I trust their entire staff. If they diagnose, treat, and recommend a procedure for my pet, I receive the full information and options. They're all proficient in what their duties are, kind, and genuine. They care about the life of my pet.

I have a senior dog who has lots of health issues, not only are the prices reasonable for vet care but everyone is over and beyond nice and professional I feel like I’m going to a family friend and as an added bonus, my dog absolutely loves their treats.

Best Veterinary Practice on the Eastside! These doctors and vet techs are well trained in so many areas!! I have never been so impressed with the level of care my animals have been provided. 5 stars across the board!

Everyone here is wonderful and so friendly! My 8 year old dog had cataract surgery in both eyes with incredible results. She is now three weeks post surgery and is doing so well! The staff gave us clear instructions for all of her eye drops and medications. The office (in Redmond) was also very COVID-19 conscious and does a text checkin and talks with the doctor over the phone. We could not have asked for a better experience!

NWAES has provided amazing and professional care for our animals. We have been utilizing these reliable clinics for several years and cannot say enough great things about the entire staff and doctor's. Thank you for all that you continue to do.

Very professional. Our dog who has some issues with strangers was well behaved. The output of the evaluation was excellent. The vet described the process, expectations and recovery. The quote was reasonable.

They take great care and customize care to your needs. Of course they're a bit pricey, but they're a specialist.

Both staff and surgeons are wonderfully kind, caring, and informative. My 13-year-old puggle will be having cataract surgery here to hopefully restore her vision.

I had the BEST experience with Northwest Animal Eye Specialists. After several visits to the vet, tests, medications, and months of no improvement for a continuous eye infection, my vet referred me to a list of specialists with a diagnosis of suspected entropion (lower eye lid curling inwards towards eye). Because there are no animal eye specialists near Bellingham and the borders are currently closed to non-essential travel, all of these specialists were down South. I chose NWAES because they were the closest, but now I will choose them hands-down if my pets ever need special eye care again. I had to cancel multiple appointments for my cat due my own health problems and NWAES was understanding and patient every time. Our visits down there for the three appointments were quick and painless. The vet techs/assistants reception and surgeon are all very warm & friendly, helpful, and informative. They are also very upfront about costs and give you an itemized quote beforehand which I found very helpful. The entropion surgery worked very well. I was a little nervous when the surgeon told me she likes to over-correct as sometimes if you do normal correction, it has a greater chance of coming back. I decided on the over correction hoping he wouldn't be left with a gaping/droopy eye lid. It healed up perfectly and his pretty little cross-eye is back to full health again! I always felt he was in good hands and cared for every time I brought him in. They even decorated his cone of shame with stickers and his name. I highly recommend NWAES!
