We love it here. Warm staff, amazing Vet, all animal lovers. Always a long wait but always great care with options to fit your budget. Just plan for a wait (I brought my laptop last time) and it won’t bother you. Once you see the Vet you’ll understand the wait- she spends long, quality time with each patient to really love on your pet, explain what is happening, and the best ways to help. No careless rush job here. Highly recommended!!!

This vet was able to get me in to a next appointment for an EU travel health certificate. The health certificate was originally very easy and straight forward but then for reasons beyond anyone's control it became very complicated and required much more attention and work than it normally would have. The staff at Tender Touch Animal Hospital were so extremely helpful. They were extremely attentive and spent all the time necessary to get my dogs' time-sensitive health certificates approved just in time. They saved the day! I am grateful I found such a wonderful clinic.

I really appreciate how the entire staff took time to answer all of our questions and prepare a detailed preventative care plan specifically tailored to environmental concerns that might be encountered in the Pacific Northwest. Thank you all for the wonderful care.

I am definitely going to say the love for my fur baby killed my bank account!! I wish I would’ve read all reviews!! One review mirrored my experience however, I stupidly fell into getting a $1800 line of credit and paid $500 out of pocket his initial visit was complimentary and I ended up coming out of pocket I think $150 at that time my poor shorty dog had this weird cough I was told could be allergies was given antibiotics for skin infection and was told antibiotic would treat cough n yeast if cough persisted they could do X-rays of chest to see if it was his heart starting at $300 plus depending on how many views they needed and sent on our way! Coughing continues and got worse!! called was seen and this time I specifically complained about the cough!! Was told his heart sounded great his larynx was fine but, he has a dbl ear infection now, I’m really good about bathing Shorty and cleaning ears and making sure no water gets in ears I didn’t notice any discomfort or redness but, it costed me an ear cleaning and treatment , nail trim, antibiotic, skin shot and pre-op blood screen (CBC,PT ,PTT) total $457.64 no discount for cash payment, no pet payment plan or pet insurance info just a Care Credit logo for financing this surgery they have now informed me he needs!! he has two abscess teeth that are oozing and infected I’m told this is what is likely causing the cough!!! NOPE!!! On October 14,21 I take my precious shorty believing he’s uncomfortable I’ve applied for a line of credit because I honestly can’t afford this surgery!! what I was told was low end would be about $1104.73 and high end $1642.98 !! Here is the kicker you sign a paper saying you have to pay $300 additional for CPR if during the surgery your pet goes into cardiac arrest and a deposit is required!! in the process of this huge bill and absolutely wanting CPR provided for my fur son your told the estimate can go over up to 20% (they mean on the high end but, it rarely happens I was told) it was my understanding I’d receive a call!! Again NOPE!! They not only removed the 2 teeth they extracted a total of 12 yes, I did say 12 freaking teeth out of my baby’s mouth I wasn’t asked or given an option the only call I received was to inform me he would be ready at 6pm and they had extracted 10 additional teeth my total bill for this surgery ended at $1802.74 plus the $457.64 for a grand total of $2259.65!!! The next day I was told by my coworker they except insurance like Petco insurance which I immediately signed up for and the kicker…there is no waiting period!! I wasn’t counseled whether this surgery was life or death if he could develop sepsis or if it could wait for coverage but, I was counseled that my dog should be neutered over three times in one conversation until I was adamant that I wasn’t doing it then I was told one teste was bigger than the other and it would be better to do it when he was having his teeth removed (due to anesthesia ) neutered my other pup through Tender touch even with help from PAWS ($100) I paid $400-500 extra I really had honestly hoped I was wrong but, just because Covid hit us and small businesses it’s not a reason for price inflation!! I’m sad and disappointed, being in the medical field myself it is a privilege human or fur baby to be able to provide compassionate , transparent care,I feel as though I was manipulated and over charged and I honestly can’t believe they removed twelve teeth from a miniature dachshund!! Unless, things change I will not only take my business elsewhere but, our adult children and inform our extensive extended families about our experience as well as the medical community I work in and we have quite the community!! Gold standard of care doesn’t mean charge “Gold Prices” it means exceptional service, dedication and reasonable service prices!! Please think about your patients parents some maybe between jobs, single parents or just barely making it!! I know it’s a lot to read but, I care deeply about our community and HATE that after almost $2,300 MY BABY STILL IS EXPERIENCING !!

I live in port orchard now and have taken all my pets here since 2012 and still do!. Dr Monica and her staff are incredible and caring and my dogs love all of them. Plus they do all they can to make sure your pet gets the best care even if on a budget and until I move out of state I don't plan on taking my pets anywhere else, i would definitely recommend them to every one!

Dr. Monica Wlodarchak did an amazing job removing a red growth the size of a blueberry from Titus Right upper eye. Titus is 14 years old and my husband and I knew it was a risk to have him under for the surgery. Both of us agreed that Dr. Monica was the one who could do it, her team/staff was professional and did an outstanding job. Our big boy is doing amazing and so happy that he has a clear view to see now. Thank you Tender Touch Animal Hospital. Thank you Staff and Dr. Monica our Angel. The price was right, because it has made a difference in Titus’ life.

We used to go to another vet in Kingston, but these days they never seem to have a vet available. No one answers the phone and VM is full. Our dog was bitten by another dog (thankfully not seriously) and the Poulsbo emergency vet finally got back to us almost 24 hours later. We called Tender Touch this morning and they could see our dog in two hours. We were amazed. Front desk person was friendly, intake nurse was compassionate, friendly and efficient. They had a fill in vet while the regular vet was out of state for training. Efficient and thorough. First visit, so visit fee waived. We were very happy with the service and are transferring our dog care from Appletree Cove to Tender Touch.

I normally go to another vet in the Kingston area but they were booked out until the end of July and I needed to get my pet in he was itching terribly and I had done all I could at home to help him. A friend had warned me prior to going here that their prices were usually double or triple what other vets in the area charged, but when I called and they were able to get my pet in the next day and wave the exam fee on his first visit I figured how bad could it be. Well that was my second mistake the first being not listening to my friend that had warned me. After the initial exam I was shown a price of roughly $87 which I thought was great then the vet tech told me she needed to add in a few things the vet added to the quote during the initial exam and that she would get back to me. At this point I’m still thinking hey, I made a good decision going here. Once again I was wrong, after the tech added in what the vet recommended the bill came back at nearly $500. Now the week prior I had taken my other dog, the exact same breed size etc. to my normal vet for the same thing (unfortunately my regular vet couldn’t see both dogs that day, and the other dog needed more immediate attention) my other dog was sent home with a shot, meds and shampoo for $147 so I knew at this point I was being gouged and to be honest I didn’t have an extra $500 laying around. The appointment then turned into a situation much like buying a used car where the vet tech went in and out of the room twice trying to get the bill down and recommending filling out applications for financial assistance I knew I wouldn’t qualify for. Eventually, myself and the vet tech settled on $147 which got the dog a rabies shot and an ear cleaning. Not meds, not shampoo and not a shot to help with the itching like my other dog had received for the exact same amount a few days before from my regular vet. Now had I not known that $500 was a ridiculous amount of money for what the dog was being treated for and I had an extra $500 laying around and I didn’t know better I might have paid it. Needless to say if money is not an issue for you than please by all means go to this vet. If your like me and you love your pets but the pandemic has you in a pinch please don’t be fooled by the “we will waive the exam fee BS” because they get their exam fee from you one way or another.

I love my animals.. so not being able to go in the actual exam room with my little guy.. but the employees there were very kind and helped comfort my worried mind.. an then the other best part is the first exam is free which is nice because that way you won't be paying just to find out nothing is even wrong...

Wrong diagnosis. Kept treating dog, charging money for wrong diagnosis. Terrible. Don't trust your animal to her. She strives to create ongoing treatment for more billing without paying attention to symptoms.

I just moved here and this was my first visit to a vet in this area. First, let me start with the positive. The vet and staff are lovely people, very warm and friendly. Dr. Monica seems to know her stuff from our conversation during my cat's initial evaluation. However, both times I went (initial evaluation appointment and dropoff for teeth cleaning) I was kept waiting for 15-30 minutes past my appointment time in the lobby before being admitted to a room. The main reason I am giving such a low review is my cat Dorian's teeth cleaning. After it was done I was told by phone that he was given a sedative injection because he was panicked. Turns out this injection lasts for 24 hours and cost $90. I don't know if it was the injection, an interaction between the injection and the anesthesia for the teeth cleaning, or rough handling during Dorian's visit ... but he came home utterly traumatized. It took 48 hours after he returned home before he would even let us approach him and touch him. He spent the first day hiding behind the washing machine and he second day under my bed. He's healthy so has been to the vet each year for regular vaccinations where I used to live, and had his teeth cleaned there too, and always behaved completely normally within an hour of returning home. I am horrified to see my poor cat slinking around the house with his tail between his legs, when he will even come out from his hiding place. This is totally unlike him and it breaks my heart. I only hope his normal personality will re-emerge and that this trauma will fade in time. I will not be returning to Tender Touch with Dorian or either of my other cats.

We will no longer support this clinic. Very dissapointed in the treatment we have received by the staff. Also it's clear nutrition was not something that was further studied beyond vet school. We have now hired a nutritionist to help us with resolving the issues with our senior foster dogs inability to gain weight.
