My dog had an emergency wish I had chosen this place, (my parents take their animals here) instead made the wrong choice to go elsewhere and deeply regretted it. This place is polished, professional, RELIABLE, TRUSTWORTHY, Communicate, maybe spendy but honestly you get what you pay for and you get the quality service here. On top of that the front desk girls are always on top of it and friendly.

What a dumpster fire this place is. Started taking our recently adopted dog to this place back in August of 2020. Since then we have seen 3 different vets because his usual vet is ”unavailable”. But today there’s only one vets name on the door plaque….. weird….. Back story…… Our dog has a few health/allergy issues and is on a special diet BUT getting this office to write any type of perception for his food is like pulling teeth. Our first prescription was written by Michael Foss on 2/8/21 for “Hydrolyzed Diet, via royal canine”. Now fast forward to today, the last straw… We had our food supplier reach out to the vet to get authorization for our dogs food and in return it was denied by Cassi. The supplier said Cassi said no because the prescription is for a Hills brand dog food and that he has never been on royal canine. Our dog has been on the same Royal Canine food for about 6 months now. We tried calling the vet’s office to request a prescription 2 times. After being told “we don’t write paper prescriptions” from Cassi (which is illegal) We made the drive to the office to see what was going on. We were not greeted by anyone but welcomed with a eye roll from Cassi and another unmasked receptionist by the name of Haley. When we let them know why we were there Cassi replied “I haven’t even been able to get up, our doctor is in a surgery and I need approval. What spot number are you in? You can wait outside.” After not liking her response We then requested our dogs full record and all previous prescriptions. She confirmed and We stepped outside. After waiting outside their office for about 10 minutes We heard the front deadbolt latch shut. WHILE WE WERE WAITING OUTSIDE!!! Finally after about 10 more minutes a tech named MaryJane came out with the prescription we requested and our dogs file. While looking over the prescription we found an error and asked for it to be changed. While MaryJane went inside to fix this we started looking over our dogs file. Things looked normal until we got to page 5. We had to go into the clinic and ask the two very rude receptionists who’s signature was on this note. They confirmed it was their vet. Look what Michael Foss D.V.M wrote, “3/27/21 - very impatient for prescription”. This is very comical to me. Because for a vet office who should actually care for pets and owners you sure do have a weird way of showing it. Your team sure is unprofessional, slow to respond and really a dumpster fire of a clinic. If there’s any advice I could give anyone, it would be to steer clear of this office.. ????

Took care of my four legged best friend from cradle to grave. Would be 5 stars except for cost and wanting it paid up front.

Incredible! Recently moved to Hood River and they made the transition to a new vet so easy for us! Very friendly and professional. They are the first vet we’ve been to in the last year of the pandemic that actually has the Vet come out to your car as well to update you and answer questions. Really impressed and grateful!

I'm sure that it is a good place to have your pets taken care of but as for me and my cats none of the veterinarians in hoodriver county are able to take care of low income people with pets we cannot afford the prices and pay our rent

Brought in our great Dane yesterday who had birthed two puppies in the morning and then hadn’t had a third birth for 8 hours. The vet recommended C-section because some of the heart rates of the puppies were dropping to around 140 from 200. After remainder of the puppies were out they sent us home with pain pills, anabiotic‘s and medication for bleeding. Giving four stars because they sent us home after labor with 1/2 the needed antibiotic dosage for 5 days. Now we need to make the long trip back into town for the remainder of the anabiotic‘s just to make sure my mama girl doesn’t get sick. Not sure if I would return to this location because of that drug screw up which is very important to give the right medication dosages in my opinion, but we were satisfied with the work they did. 4 stars.

The staff is so friendly and kind. I had just moved into town and my dog needed emergency attention. I called them and they took her without hesitation. My family will be using them as long as we live in Hood River, and recommend them to everyone we know. Thank you for all you do Alpine!!!

Let me start out by saying this review is nothing against the actual doctors of the clinic. Dr. Samantha Lawton has been very kind to our family's 2 puppies and given good care. My problem is with the desk staff. On the first office visit before curbside care was established my wife went in alone with her 2 puppies and the required printed document with both our dogs names and information, explaining she wanted to sign both the puppies up for the wellness plan. After the doctor visit in checking out; my wife paid for the services and wellness plan. As she was walking out Haley asked 'wait it was just 1 wellness plan right?' My wife corrected her that she wanted 2 wellness plans, Haley said she over charged my wife's card but would fix it by putting a credit on our account. On our 2nd visit via the curbside care the same desk personal returned our dogs and then asked for payment, to which my wife reminded her of the previous visits mistake. She said she would check on that. A few minutes later she popped her head out of the door and said 'your on the wellness plan your good'. On the 3rd and our last visit the doctor returned our pups to us and since we were under the impression that we were all paid up and both dogs as requested on the wellness plan we left. About a half hour or so down the road my wife got a phone call from Cassi. My wife tried to be calm and pleasant and recounted all this to her. Cassi explained that they realized only 1 dog was on the plan after we left the last visit so they just didn't charge us for our 2nd. My wife told her this is information that should have been shared at that time or even before this last visit, because as we had assumed we were on the wellness plan with both dogs (like most during these hard times) we have no money to give them now. She kept trying to justify and explaining there is no mistake and reading off how much was charged on the 1st visit so we should have known. Round in circles they went. I had my wife give me the phone, and of course I was heated, I used my stern voice trying to get through to them that there was a mistake that needed correction. I told her after all these mistakes I don't trust them with my dogs and I want a refund since I paid for the whole year. Cassi Continuously talked over me said they don't make mistake there is no refund and said she was sending me to collections. Since then I have contacted them twice trying to speak to a manager about this whole awful mess. Cassi via phone said she would leave the message for the manager but didn't know when she would be in. And I also emailed to which was responded. "Nathan, Your request has been received and forwarded to the owner. They are currently working on an as needed basis." My wife received a copy of their invoice, and in it next to both dogs names was w/wellness plan. Yes a bill of over $100. The wellness plan covers all boosters and shots which is all we had gotten since the 1st visit. This is the worst office visit I have ever encountered anywhere! I do not recommend their business as clearly the desk staff are not on top of it. Also if anyone knows how to get a hold of the manager Sharon Foss I would really appreciate that information as I would like to resolve this issue.

On our first appointment, the doctors and staff got on the floor with my dog and did a complete exam but to me I looked they were just petting him. The love and care for my dog by the staff made all the he difference to me.

All of my animals are seen by this vet. Luckly only one urgent visit so far. They were able to see me same day and scheduled me for an office visit within an hour. Had this been an emergency they would of seen me even sooner. Very friendly and easy access to the location from the highway and for us local to hood river.
