Bruce is the best Veterinarian out there. Not only was I honored to be a Veterinary School Classmate of Bruce, but I was honored when he saved my precious Himalayan Mainecoon Queen Mist a couple of months ago when she suffered from a uterine rupture during the birthing process. I recently took my two Golden Retriever puppies for their first shots and check up since I got them. I’m very impressed with the staff who are very professional and helpful . Dr. King thoroughly examined the puppies and explained everything to me about what he was doing and why. I didn’t feel rushed or anything like they were pushing procedures or products on me! Unlike other places I have found to do in the past with my previous pets! I would definitely recommend Lakewood Animal Hospital to anyone who loves their pets! ????????

I recently switched my 4 legged kids over to Lakewood from a local clinic that was purchased by a national corporation. I was getting horrible service after the change, and the animals in my life deserve so much better. They got that and more at Lakewood! Not only did Dr. King find a broken tooth in one of my pup's mouths that I hadn't noticed, but after he and his team completed a full cleaning and extraction for her they followed up consistently to make sure she was OK. I got a call WELL after hours (personally) from Dr. King to check on her after surgery. Then I got another call the next morning from the front desk. Thankfully, both calls were good reports because she's doing great! The entire staff love on my dogs whenever we are there. They're patient with my nervous pup & play with my friendly pup. I could quite literally go on and on about how much we're loving Lakewood, but you should see for yourself! Your pets deserve this level of care.

This hospital is fantastic! I've been taking my dogs and cats here for years! Dr. King and his staff and personable and professional. Most importantly they put up with all my questions and take my pet mom concerns seriously!

Dr King and all of his staff are absolutely amazing! I've been taking my 2 cats to him for almost a year now and have never been dissatisfied. The care they give and level of expertise and knowledge is comforting, just knowing that my furbabies are in golden hands. Dr. King and his staff are hands down the most professional, intelligent, effecient and caring team I've had the pleasure of working with! They took my sick puppy in last minute regardless of having a completely full schedule on a Friday afternoon, the cost of treatment was extremely reasonable considering my puppy had the highest quality of care, they gave me peace of mind while my pup was in their care by giving me updates throughout the day, and most importantly they saved his life!! Having a parvo pup is NOT easy, but going to Lakewood was the best decision I ever made. Thank you, Bruce & staff, for everything you guys have done this past week! I live in Spokane and it’s definitely worth the drive to come to cda! I have never been to a vet that seems to genuinely care about your pet as much as Dr. King does. I can send an email at any time of day or call and he gets back to me within a couple of hours. My dog had dental work and extractions done and I was nervous having her put under because she is a little older. They took out 5 of her teeth that were bothering her, cleaned her teeth, clipped and painted her nails and she was put under anesthesia for only an hour and a half! She came out looking happy with and with a cute little bandana on. It’s a little bit on the expensive side but if you want the best care for your pet it’s worth every penny.

Dr. King is the best! Had to take our dog in for surgery on her leg. She has a cancerous tumor that grew back after being removed 3 years ago. He was gentle and he worked hard to get nearly all of it! It's been 2 days and she's already perking up, trying to use her leg and eating her regular dog food again. More invasive surgery this time, but recovery has been easier! Wish we lived here 3 years ago for that surgery! He takes such good care of all his patients and their families. He loves all animals and people! You can clearly tell. He explains everything they need to do and afterwards, everything they did. We will definitely be staying with Lakewood!! ????

we are incredibly happy with dr king and all of the staff here. they do a tremendous job with our fur baby with outstanding care. dr king personally calls after visits to see how our pup is doing. what a great asset to our community!

I have taken both of my choc labs to lakewood animal hospital since they were pups. Dr. King has been amazing to both my dogs, lua and hunter. I had to switch vets due to prices but that was the only reason. I have to disagree with some of the other comments made on here. I would never believe dr king would "man handle" any animal. He gets on the floor at the animals level and talks almost baby talk to them to help ease their nerves. He is very patient and caring about the animal and will do anything to diagnose what is wrong. My female, lua, has muscular dystrophy and when we first found this out when she was about 6 months old, they recommended me taking her to WSU for further treatment. So once again, I disagree with the person who left the comment saying that dr king wouldnt refer them to WSU. That is where he got his training and I know first hand he would recommend them if he was stumped on a diagnosis. I've been to other vets as a last resort bc I couldnt get one of my dogs into dr kings office on such a short notice and have always had bad experiences with those vet visits at those other clinics. I never felt like the vet or staff treated my dogs like dr king and his staff do. I would highly recommend dr king to anyone. He is amazing at what he does..he has called me after hours to check in on my dogs after being treated for something..he had also called and left me a vmail ince leaving me his cell phone saying if I had any questions of concerns, i could call him after hours on his cell phone and he would answer. He is very thorough with his appts and i have never felt like he was rushing us thru the appt to get to the next one. He is just a great man and I fully trust him with my dogs. I actually intend to returning to his office just due to the fact that the way he handles my dogs is like non other and my dogs arent nervous when goikg to his office like they are when I have had to take them to other clinics. Dr. King is the most caring Vet you will ever find, the staff is very friendly too ! We will not go anywhere else. Dr. Bruce has also always made himself available for emergencies even on Holidays for us.

Dr King is the absolute best! A few months ago my dog swallowed something resembling a fishhook. She was very ill, I was afraid we would lose her, but Dr King saved her life. She had surgery within just a few hours after the first exam with Dr King, and continued to receive care from him over the course of about a month. He always took the time to explain to us every procedure, every risk and every benefit. I never doubted his recommendations because it was very clear he had my dogs best interest at heart. I trust him 100%. He called me after hours a few times just to check in on my dog and answer my many questions. My dog spent a lot of time at his clinic during that month and I never felt any anxiety about leaving her there, and she didn't seem to mind either. His staff is great. We saw Madison most often, and she is just as wonderful as Dr King is. I've been taking my dogs to see him for a few years and will never go anywhere else. I would recommend Lakewood to everyone. Truly the best place to take your pets.

Dr King has been our Veterinarian for years. He genuinely cares about your pet(s). Don’t think you will be out the door and forgotten. Those after hours calls from Dr King to see how your pet is doing and answer all those questions you forget is priceless.

We love Dr. King! He and his entire staff are wonderful, caring people. The office is clean, comfortable and doesn't smell like pets or strong detergent. Our three kitties receive wonderful care. The office does upfront and inclusive pricing for procedures which I appreciate. I always know exactly what I am paying before hand whether it is for dental surgery or shots. They obviously care about your animal, and they are all absolutely wonderful people. Everything is convenient, pleasant, and most importantly, they provide wonderful, competent care. Worth every penny!

Lakewood has treated our animals for over 10 years, and they've always gone above and beyond for us. Dr. King and his staff are so wonderful with our dog, and it is evident that each staff member loves what they do and genuinely care for the animals entrusted to them. Our pets have had their share of medical issues in the past - some of which can get rather expensive, but the staff do their best to accomodate and consult with us in finding the best treatment for our pets. Dr. King is great at communicating with us, giving us advice, and following up when necessary to ensure our animals are doing well. He goes above and beyond, and it's very reassuring. Also, the staff always trim our dog's nails when he visits, and they even take festive photos of pets near the holidays (our dog's Easter photo is still one of my favorites). I can't say how much I appreciate the staff at Lakewood, and I'm so grateful to have a veterinarian that I can trust with my animals.

I love this clinic. I brought a difficult case to Dr. King about 3 weeks ago. In that time I have been so impressed with the levels of caring and communication I have experienced. Dr. King and his staff give of themselves for a common cause: quality medicine and fantastic customer service. Even when they are a little bit busy everyone is serene and friendly. And I have never had such a level of in-depth answers and information and willingness and availability to address every concern. Answers after hours by email, text, phone and always an invitation to ask about anything you need to. The clinic is beautiful: appealing decor as opposed to gaudy advertisements from animal pharmaceutical companies. Like being in someone’s living room. And the vibe is so different from where I came from...again, serene, orderly, warm, with the impression that someone smart is in charge. There are calming pheromone diffusers in the exam rooms to help the patients. I should send them flowers or cookies or something.

There complete dedication to taking care of your pet and you is noticable from the moment you enter. I have never had anything but the best service and medical treatment for my dog.

First of all, I think Dr. King should get the best Vet in the world award and best Clinic!! I have lived in many places in the US and he was the best vet and Lakewood Clinic was the best I’ve ever seen across the board!! I moved away from Idaho 3 years ago, unfortunately, and every time I take my dog or cat to the vet, I leave wishing to God I could take them back up to Dr. King. His standards are far beyond higher than anyone else’s!! Today I picked up my sick dog from a Denver vet and he had diarrhea all over him. I asked if they had something to help me clean him. A woman came with cotton balls and basically smooshed the diarrhea into his hair more, instead of getting it off. Dr. King would NEVER allow that(he would have never sent my dog home in his condition either)!! Every time my animals had vomiting or diarrhea, the technicians made sure my dog/cat was completely clean. There was a time when my dog had diarrhea as we were leaving and the technicians stopped me, said they would take care of it, took him back and bathed him again. No vet Clinic that I’ve ever been to, other than Lakewood, has ever been that caring!! My animals always came home happy and healthier than when I dropped them off from Lakewood. My animals were also so much healthier when we were able to see Dr. King. All four of my animals health have declined greatly since having to go to other vets. I would do anything to be able to move back to Coeur d’Alene if I could so my fur babies could get the standard of care they deserve. I hope everyone of Dr. King’s patients fully appreciate what they have!! He is a kind, loving, dedicated, super intelligent man who always puts in 100% to all animals. Thank you Lakewood for everything you did for all my fur babies and our extended family fur babies who you continue to treat!! You need to teach other clinics/animal hospitals how to run a great place!!

I have come to Dr. King with 3 different pets that were having health issues that previous veterinarians couldn't diagnose after various treatments and tests. Every time he has been able to give me answers that no one else could provide, even when they weren't easy to hear. Dr. King is able to articulate complicated medical jargon into understandable terms and he obviously prides himself in having the knowledge to diagnose our pets illnesses. It is clear after one visit with him that he knows what he is talking about. I can't thank him and his staff enough for the kindness and sensitivity they showed during one of the hardest days of my life. This vet office has earned my business for as long as Dr. King is in charge, as this really is a top notch facility.

Dr. King and his staff are consummate professionals, their attention to detail and commitment to excellence is second to none. We have had the pleasure of using their services for a number of years with a couple of different animals and have been completely satisfied with his team. Communication is stellar, hospital is immaculate and the range of services is broad. Additionally, they are proactive when needed and happy to refer you to a specialist when needed if it's outside their normal treatment offerings. You wont be disappointed.

Best vet visit yet! My dog was very happy and not scared at all once we got in there (which is rare for her). Very clean and friendly! We will Deffinately be back :)

I've only been to Dr. King once when I made the extremely difficult decision to put my fur baby down. He was extremely compassionate and educational on the process and what my dog would feel/experience. While it was a very hard experience, Dr. King and his staff made me feel better about the process and made it as easy as possible. Best vet I've been to hands down.
