Lisa is a great trainer and you can tell she loves dogs. We have trained 2 dogs with her now and would highly recomend her. She is down to earth and has a lot of experience and it shows.

Lisa Tyson is the best! I don't know why we didn't do this sooner. Very knowledgeable and friendly. Won't go anywhere else. Highly reccomended.

If you are looking for an obedience class for you and your dog, Best Paw Forward’s Lisa Tyson is the right trainer to go to. Lisa Tyson is a Dog Whisperer. She understands how to help train the dog’s human so in turn that human can assist in training the dog. She understands the dog’s phycology as well as human’s. Our first day of the All Star Puppy Obedience, my 6 month old puppy barked through the first class. I endured the looks from other class members, which said, “Can’t you shut that dog up!” I was embarrassed and was sure I had a “Marley” type of dog. I had adopted this pup with the goal; he would become my service dog. Lisa was encouraging and nonjudgmental. Pepper and I finished the Puppy Obedience class and moved on to the Beginning Obedience Class. Pepper and I completed that class and moved up to the Advanced Obedience Class and the Canine Good Citizen Class (CGC). By following the lessons, Lisa gave us in class, and doing the homework assignments i.e... (practicing the skills at home for 5 minutes twice a day), Pepper and I passed the CGC class. Lisa continues to help us. After meeting with my doctor to decide what type of tasks I would need my service animal to perform, I took the list of tasks to Lisa to help with Pepper’s training. Lisa is able to break a task down into small steps to teach Pepper. It amazes me how she breaks the tasks down. This past December my husband I and Pepper flew to Texas to spend Christmas with our son and his family. While on the airplane, a little girl sitting in the row in front of us dropped a small bag of crackers. I gave Pepper the command to leave it. Pepper obeyed that command and didn’t even try to get at the crackers. The stewardesses noticed and complimented Pepper good behavior. When Pepper and I are out and about, we are often given compliments on Pepper’s good behavior and asked various questions about service dogs. I always give credit to Best Paw Forward and trainer, Lisa Tyson. She helped me turn a “Marley” type puppy into a well behaved service dog. Thank you so very much, Lisa!

Lisa speaks dog and trains humans. Really, she does! My pound puppy had issues with other dogs. Walking her was a nightmare. She taught me how to correct bad behavior properly. She also taught me how to read my dog's body language to prevent escalation. The most important tip I learned from her was how to start off every new encounter calmly and not proceeding to the next step without total calmness. My pup now plays with other dogs in the park off leash and enjoys going for walks!

Lisa changed our lives!! Our dog Hank was an anxious and aggressive (not mention, LARGE) puppy with a lot of energy. He was very dominant and we had little control over him. After working with Lisa for a few weeks, she helped us to assert our own dominance over him. Hank is now a different dog! He is relaxed and very low key, which I never thought I would say. He no longer pushes boundaries, and is much more obedient and submissive. I really did not think it would be possible to turn our wild puppy into a nice family pet, and truly cannot believe the transformation that has happened. I don't know what we would have done without Lisa. Thank you Lisa!

I went to Lisa's training because I had just received a rescue dog. Honestly, I have never been around dogs since I was a child and did not know much about them. I knew the basics like they need food and water and attention but I did not have an idea on how to walk her or how to control her in public. I found Lisa online and emailed her. She responded in a timely manner and was warm and friendly. my attitude was going to be perceived by her or how to act around her. Honestly, I did not know to think on that level. We attended her obedience training and then had Lisa come back for a private lesson with our dog. Easy to find locations and she provided a stress-free environment for the training. No question is a stupid question and all her advice seemed to be the best for you and your pet. Lisa helped me to understand Darcy better and that the attitudes and behaviors that I exhibit can have a negative or positive effect on my pet. It was obvious that Darcy's previous owners did not treat her well and negative situations (like getting after our children) would make Darcy even more nervous. Really, Lisa helped me to be a better person and better pet owner. I would recommend her training to everyone. Lisa does not look at dogs as just dogs. She treats them like they are their own person (so-to-say) and give them the respect they deserve. She has always given great friendly advice and you really feel that Lisa is genuinely trying to make a positive difference in yours and your pet’s life. I would not recommend anybody else for your pet training needs!

Lisa is a true expert in this field. My mastiff would not walk with a leash and in less than an hour with him, she had him walking on the leash like a pro. He also would not get into the back of my SUV, but after just two visits , and following Lisa's instructions, he now rides comfortably! She not only trains your dog, but she trains you, the dog mom/dad/family, to help your dog be a better member of the family. She will give you the tools to have a better understanding of why your dog does the things he does, and how you as a dog mom/dad can correct that bad behavior to make everyone happier! She has helped me to correct several challenges I was having with my mastiff, and her techniques really do work! Give Lisa a call if your dog is having behavior issues...you won't be sorry!

Best class experience ever!!! Lisa (the instructor) is very friendly and funny and she has a great way with the dogs....Odie (my dog) seemed to love her. Her methods are very common sense methods and she dispenses alot of bits of …

We have used Best Paw Forward for both of our dogs. In fact one was leash aggressive to the point we couldn't be around any dog. We have gone to PetSmart to see Santa every year since. Lisa is very direct and has no worries with telling you how it is and is very good at what she does. She works with the whole "pack" and not just the dog. The human pack members have to know how they respond to things will change how their fur-babies do. I will always suggest Best Paw Forward to everyone I know and all of my dogs will be attending the classes.

I have attended classes with 3 of my dogs and she has done a great job. Two of my dogs have received their CGC Certification through these classes. My one dog had a problem of pulling on her leash and no matter what I tried she just wouldn't quit. After the second class with Lisa, the dog was walking calmly by my side. I would recommend any of these classes.
