Don't bother. The owner is horrible, will blame you for her being "overloaded" because they can't manage their business and rely on archaic methods of communication. If you want to go weeks without hearing from someone about an appointment, and then blamed when they don't respond to many messages, and then the day before an appointment told they just can't handle the load, sure give this a try. If you want to be treated like a human, go anywhere else.

Very great place to take wary big dogs for nail trim.

Excellent groomer. Totally trust worthy. Good with difficult hair that might be easily matted.

My mom took our dog Nipsey who is an Aussie with major anxiety to Tesslan. We got him during covid so he hasn’t been around other dogs much. No one else was able to clip his nails but Tesslan did a great job and were very caring. I highly recommend Tesslan dog spa.

Ok, this is the BEST dog groomer!! I was hesitant to post a glowing review as once they are discovered they will be too busy! I was looking for a new groomer for my rescue Maltipoo after having a bad experience at another groomer. I was able to make an appointment immediately and found this establishment to be spotless, professional (they request various info including emergency contact, documentation of shots, etc.) and are warm and welcoming. They only have a couple of groomers and assistants, with the assistants only there to take sweet care of your buddy during all services. You are contacted 30 minutes prior to completion in order that there is no waiting time for your dog. the owner was a RN for 30 years before retiring and following her passion, to provide loving care for dogs. She is a 5 star service with I will NEVER go anywhere else! Highly recommended.

I couldn't be happier with our experience at Tesslan Dog Spa. I was referred to Tesslan Dog Spa by our vet tech after a few unsuccessful nail trim attempts. I immediately left Tess a voicemail and she called back the same day and spent about 20 minutes on the phone with me to get to know our situation and to explain how she would attempt to calm and treat our dog. Tess scheduled me for the same week, at a time when her other groomers were also available, with no other dogs around, in order to have the most successful visit. At our appointment Tess clearly explained her policies and provided a printed copy of the policies which I agreed to and signed. Tess gave me an estimate of pickup time and stated I would receive a text 30 minutes prior to pickup time which I would need to confirm. The whole appointment was smooth and SUCCESSFUL! Our dog was calm, clean, and happy when I arrived to pick him up. Tess and her team gave some suggestions in order to build on the conditioning of the appointment. We will be back and am happy to recommend Tesslan Dog Spa to anyone having trouble finding the right fit for their grooming needs.

Tess and her team is incredible! Our 3yo Aussiedoodle is highly anxious at other groomers' and has gotten aggressive towards them before, even with two different anti-anxiety meds. We went to four different groomers in the past few months and were sent home every time. She either had bitten the groomer or would not let the groomer near her. But with Tess and her team, our dog was able to get through 2 hours of full grooming without once trying to bite (and without anti-anxiety meds!). They were so gentle and patient with her - one person making her comfortable and praising her while the other did the grooming. They did not man-handle her like most other places. From now on we will only be going to Tess - someone who's passionate and proud of her work. They really do the low-stress grooming as promised!

Tess was amazing!! She was thoughtful and considerate about how I wanted my dog to look. I instantly felt comfortable leaving my dog with her. She did a wonderful job on my dogs grooming experience!!!

Tess groomed our 7 year old Coton for the first time yesterday and she not only did a beautiful grooming job but I can tell by how he was acting after that he was treated well. He is usually anxious and fearful about grooming and sometimes acts differently after grooming, so it was a relief to pick him up and see that he was at ease and wagging his tail; acting like he does at home. Tess takes her time and uses products & techniques to make the grooming experience as low stress as it can be. That is why we chose her and we are so relieved to have found her.

This place is amazing. The owner and staff are so nice and really care about your pet. They all are well trained in handling and grooming, they make sure your pet is safe and looking fabulous! :) the owner always makes sure you leave happy with how your dog looks, I brought my pup here a couple times, this last time, her hair wasn't as short as I wanted it to be, so Tess had me come back to make it right. Always so pleasant and wonderful to me and my dog. The location and place is professional and easy to find. This place is great, my dog is a nervous little girl, and when I come to pick her up she's actually pretty relaxed. The other dogs are also very happy and playful when I walk in. Tess doesn't have any kennels but does have a darkened room with calming music playing for those waiting to be picked up. She really goes the extra step to make sure your dog is comfortable and happy :)

Overpriced for mediocre service. Owner will seek to charge more if your pet doesn’t corporate what the groomer said. There are many different place where offer much better quality grooming with much lower price.

DO NOT GO HERE. Unless you want to have a business owner be condescending and provide terrible customer service. This is actually the first google review I have ever done but my experience was just that bad here I had to let people know. The owner, Tess quoted me $80-$100 on the phone for a wash and shave of my dog and then charged me $130!! And then to top it off was rude about it. I would highly advise to seek other wonderful groomers in the area for a better experience for you and your pup.

I tried making an appointment with them through their online booking service and was notified a day later that the "open" time as listed on their booking site was no longer available. When I called to make an appointment the person on the phone was new and had a difficult time (which is fine) but after some time on hold I finally had my appointment booked. They had booked me on the wrong date, a day prior, and when I called backed after she called to tell me we had missed our appointment I was blamed and lectured about how lost appointment times are bad for her business. She claimed I should've known about the time/date due to a reminder email, however I never received a reminder email or call. I know for a fact I did not book my appointment as she had it written down because it conflicted with my other appointments. I don't appreciate a business where mistakes on their end are pushed on to the customer with no apology or attempt to correct these errors. I will never use this place due to the poor customer service, and would like to add that all of my communication was with the owner, Tess.

It has been several months now but I have finally decided to share my experience with Tess. We started bringing our golden doodle last year to Tesslan. The dog was my fiancé's initially and he'd bring her to a groomer that was far away, once in a while and never had an issue. We found a closer groomer (Tesslan) and tried them out. Our house manager (I know that sounds crazy but we have 4 kids and crazy lives) was reprimanded for her matting, repeatedly. So we tried to keep up better on her grooming but crazy schedules don't always allow for monthly $$$ grooming. Our house manager moved on to a new position at another location. We hired a new house manager who tried to schedule an appointment for our dog. The phone call that she had was so insanely inappropriate. Tess told our new employ that we abused our employees. We do not, at all. And we pay far more than most educated people make and give holidays, sick, etc. We may have 4 young children but beyond that, no abuse. To have Tess tell our new employee such a gross thing was beyond shocking. Further more, she was told that we never even tip and that we have a lot of money (which is none of her business nor does she know). Then to hear that our new employee was being reprimanded all over again via phone (Tess had not seen our dog) about the matting and making comments like "why would she care? She's only the girlfriend" is beyond inappropriate. I phoned our old employee to tell her what terrible service we had received because she works off of referrals for her families. I wanted her aware that this place speaks of clients like this. And I wanted to ask why she is telling people that we don't tip. Our old employee confirmed that she always tipped them as this was part of her responsibility. Apparently, the old employee phoned Tess to discuss this. My new employee then got a nasty voicemail from Tess telling her to never call her again or to ever schedule our dog with her. NO PROBLEM. RESPONSE: I waited months to decide whether to post or not. I chose to tell people about my “business” because your behavior was so gross. Also, Maggie is not elderly. You may be confusing her with other dogs. We have never never never had another groomer mention a thing about matting. And she goes to the vet at least once a month and they groom her also and have NEVER said a thing. Our dog lives in two homes and we do our absolute best to take care of her when she is with us. Your claims of no time to gossip is ludicrous. You called our employee after her regular hours and kept her on the phone for quite some time. I believe her because when I dropped her at your spa one day you spent 15 minutes saying the same thing to me that you had already told our household. There was a lot of your time wasted. You have no idea what our home life is like or that this dog is in a split home. But you absolutely took the time to gossip both with our old employee as well as trying with our, then, new employee. And after I spoke with our old employee about what you told my new employee, she clearly called you because I listened to the very nasty voicemail you left. Perhaps you were having a bad day. That I don’t know. But you were beyond unprofessional and inappropriate. Our dog is young and so very very loved and well taken care of. How dare you insinuate otherwise. Maggie could not be in a more loving household.

I brought in my 3 foster rescues to Tess and her wonderful staff. They were new intakes, were a hot mess with super long greasy hair and needed to be groomed badly. Tess and her staff treated them like their own "kids" and did a wonderful job with all 3. One of the boys did not like being picked up and would growl loudly and try to bite. By the time I came to get them, Tess was snuggling with him in her arms as if they had been friends for years. She truly loves dogs and does a wonderful job with rescue dogs in particular. Thank you Tess and everything you do for the rescues.

Always a great experience. Our dog is a very highly-strung, extremely nervous rescue dog and, while she never really relaxes unless she's at home, taking her to Tesslan is almost the same thing. They really take the time to reassure her and take it slow, and I think she appreciates it as much as I do. Plus, they always do the best job with her grooming. I can't recommend them more highly.

Tesslan Dog Spa gives fantastic haircuts and is wonderful for pets who become anxious or upset when groomed. Our dog previously had very negative grooming experiences, but is happy to go to Tesslan Dog Spa. They do an excellent job dematting, trimming, and blowdrying. They clearly have unique, loving dog groomers.

Really substandard cut at a very expensive rate. I give them 2 stars for being nice doing good job on the face, but horribly on the body.

Check your dogs after grooming! I brought our two dogs in to try Tesslan's dog spa because the website emphasizes safe and gentle handling and so did Tess on the phone, claiming she was a nurse and loves dogs, etc. When we got home after grooming, one of our dogs, Tiger, kept licking his crotch. It was red and irritated. We waited a couple days to see if it would heal on its own. However, it kept getting more inflamed and irritated, until it was a big red sore. Obviously it was a worse injury than we had realized. We took him to Tess to show her and she was very skeptical that it was from grooming and talked about how many different blades she uses and all the great reviews she has and that she would give us some colloidal silver to put on it. She said that if we took him to our vet and if the Dr. said it was from grooming that she "would make it right." So we took Tiger to the vet, spent MORE money on top of the outrageous prices she charges for grooming, and the vet said it was definitely a grooming injury. The poor guy had razor burn ON HIS SCROTUM, caused from cutting too closely. He needed antibiotics to heal the tiny cuts the blades caused. She shouldn't have even been shaving such a sensitive area. We had Tess call the vet herself, emailed her, left messages, and all we received was an angry, immature email from her saying she would never take our dogs again and wouldn't give us a refund because she didn't do anything wrong. She is probably furious because our vet won't send dogs to her anymore. Tess cares more about her ego and the awards on her wall than the fact that she caused a dog pain. Poor Tiger already has joint issues and doesn't need any more pain. That is the whole point of our complaint, for her to take responsibility for that, not the refund. Any legitimate grooming business would have put the dogs first and made sure they got vet care if they were hurt from grooming. Tess is an awful business woman and a dishonest, arrogant person. And by the way, the place is dirty, hot, and cramped. I would never leave a dog here.

Best shaping my dog has received! The request to get my dog 'cleaned' up doesn't seem like a lot. However, he's a mix w/ cowlicks and his fur length varies all over. On top of that, he's part terrier, so his coarse, wavy fur sticks out and shifts often. When I dropped him off, he hadn't been groomed in about 6 months. The staff was really mindful of not provoking my dogs separation anxiety. When I picked him up, I instantly saw how good of a job they did following my requests. Previously I questioned if other groomers had trimmed his legs, but w TDS, it was very apparent that they trimmed all the areas I had asked. Also, his chest and neck area has NEVER been shaped better than his visit here, and this is where most of his cowlicks are. One side of his whiskers were cut a bit, but I'm sure it was just a result of him moving while they were trimming his beard. I'd much rather shorter whiskers than his skin being nicked. Overall, he received a great cut, everyone was very friendly and accommodating, and we received a follow up phone call asking if everything was how we wanted.

They are by far the very best dog grooming I have ever experienced. You know your dog has been pampered, and impeccably groomed. So appreciate the quality groomers, and follow up they do each my dog gets his monthly grooming.

I brought my two terrified and abused rescue dogs, Bailey and Walter, into Tesslan Dog Spa today; Tess and all the women there were so wonderful, amazing and patient with them! I am so grateful to have found them! Their kindness and patience should make anyone want to bring their dogs in...not to mention the cute haircuts! Thank you guys so much!!!

LOVE Tessa & her staff! I cannot say enough about how good she took care of my 6 year old mini-Yorkie Missy. I'm new to Western Washington and had to find a new dog groomer & am beyond HAPPY with not only how professional Tessa was but her facilities are Clean, Prompt, and above ALL I felt like she cared about my dog. I can tell that Tessa grooms and takes care of her clients dogs like they were her own. I have been getting my Missy stlyled for 5 years and have never been so HAPPY. If your looking for a dog groomer, look no further! Tesslan Dog Spa is a wonderful place to take your fur baby and will be in LOVING hands.

They did an amazing job with my Samoyed. Hands down best grooming job he's ever had, and I've been to quite a few. They even trimmed his nails and that's something he absolutely hates. Somehow they were able to manage it. I'll definitely be coming back.

I have a great dane/pitbull mix who is an utter love. But he is utterly terrified of having his nails trimmed. We use to take him to the pet stops here and he was notorious for panicking when they would bring out the clippers and he had bit at least three of those poor workers, so they started muzzling him… My poor baby. But we moved and Tesslan was closer to the house so we tried it and the owner is a freaking dog whisper! She held his head and talked to him the entire time and he didn't even care that his nails were being trimmed! I walked in cringing and nervous about my poor puppy having to have his nails trimmed and walked in in utter disbelief at how calm, cool and relaxed Jax was the entire time! She is a miracle worker and I won't go anywhere else!
