I took my dog there because I read the good reviews on another site. I really wished that I read the reviews on Google instead. My dog never had seizures till she started to take a medicine that she was given on her first visit. I followed the instructions, but should’ve read the side effects on it, which is seizures. I went by my gut instincts and stopped giving her the medicine along with the other medicine that she was prescribed. Recently when I walked her to the park, I seen that she looked dizzy and her eyes were moving everywhere, plus she was unbalanced. She never was like that till I gave her that medicine. I should’ve read the side effects, which I did last night and cried. It even lists down the other possible side effects. Again, she didn’t have seizures before and now she’s getting worse! I can’t even look at my dog without crying now and I’ve had her since she was a puppy. now she’s 6 yrs old! On that visit, I spent $600 for X-rays, checkup, and medicine. I was told that there was no broken bones. And she was prescribed a medicine to stop the pain. That’s the one with the side effects. Plus she never pee’d in my house before and now she continues to do so. I was then told to stop the medicines because it maybe too strong. Her seizures are in clusters and she wasn’t like that before. She’s not the same and it’s getting worse. I went for the 2nd visit in which cost $400. I spent $1000 in less than 3 wks at that pet hospital. The 2nd veterinarian seems to know what she’s doing, and she prescribed her 3 medications, which one was for her eye, which I also previously said on the first visit, but she wasn’t given eye drops on the first visit. She was given a blood test and said she has a bladder infection, and gave me medicine for that, and also seizure medicine. Back home she was healthier and she was always running around before. Now she looks at me differently and it makes me cry. We moved to WA only 3 yrs ago and now I have to watch my dog’s health dwindle.

If I could rate them zero stars I would. Don't take your pet to the Oregon Ave location. Ineptitude at its finest! Every time I have to order meds for my pet, the order gets stuck "in fulfillment" for days on end. I use Banfield Hospital's own online pharmacy, the pharmacy you access by logging into your Banfield Dashboard. The folks at the Oregon Ave location never seem to "see" the RX awaiting vet approval. I've spent 2 days of my vacation, multiple calls trying to get a 6 tablet order approved and shipped out for my pet. Getting meds in a timely fashion is an important part of providing good care. The Banfield folks have no problem swiping my card for their overpriced services, but they can't seem to figure out how to approve a prescription with their own software? Tuh! This is my last time dealing with these folks. I will be moving my pet's care to a non-Banfield affiliated vet. I suggest you folks skip them for your pet's medical needs altogether, and save yourself the headaches. They don't care.

You know. I just don't get it, we purchased the optimal wellness plan recently with hope of getting the comprehensive medical checkups for our dog. I booked an appointment online 7 weeks in advance for comprehensive check on certain december date. Then they called recently to let us know that they can't do comprehensive check because: 1. We didn't book it months in advance. (I guess online booking and Banfield's online calendar aren't valid, correct?) So they recommend to reschedule our dog's first comprehensive to be done in March- even then they say that it's not guaranteed; thenn they offered to just address dog's current problem aka regular visit for that December date that we'd previously booked. Anyway, we logged in a few days later to find out that our record didn't indicate that it's been cancelled. To make things worse, the office appears to be lying about the next available slots opening up possibly in March because we saw that the next available appointment will be in January.

They called me 2 hours before my dogs appointment that I have scheduled for a month and cancelled. My dog urgently needs his vaccines as he is a new puppy and they aren’t willing to work it out. Said I have to wait 3 more weeks for a new appointment even though my dog’s vaccines are due. Completely unprofessional and don’t care about your dog

I have a very large, excited and outgoing loud barking 4 year old chocolate lab/ Catahoula Leapord Dog. He is always happy to see the staff at this Banfield. One day I drove over 4 hours just togo to this pet hospital because they have taken the time to get to know our dog and us as a family. I highly recommend anyone to try this pet doctor before going to another veterinarian.

My friend went to this hospital and found his puppy throw up infusion tube out from his stomach after he got home. And this hospital was even trying to conceal his medical record when he questioned them. Totally irresponsible and highly not recommend

My pups Favorite vet of 4 years. Highly recommend. All doctors are all amazing there. They love my pup and make sure he’s feeling comfortable and loved while he’s there. Everyone there is just so friendly and welcoming. 10/10

Medical malpractice caused our dog severe gastrointestinal bleeding and anemia. Our dog Loki was hospitalized and received fluid treatment here. They are negligent and unprofessional enough to let him swallow a catheter (see picture 1). To make things worse, they never bothered telling us. We only found out what was going on after Loki vomited blood for three days (picture 2) and paid a visit to a different pet hospital (their assessment is in picture 3). All medical professionals should be trained to properly handle medical waste. But apparently they are not. Loki is lucky enough to not die—what if they left him with a needle to swallow? Unacceptable negligence and lack of communication. Will file a complaint to the state board.

Dr Johnson is in one of a kind vet, he has forged a relationship with my dog unlike any other vet has ever done. He is compassionate, understanding, patient, and thoughtful.

I use Banfield hospitals for my pup and have always loved their reliability and customer service. I usually go to Banfield hospitals in Seattle but decided to stop here to ask if they had room for my pup since I was in the area. The customer service at the front desk could use improvement. The front desk lady yesterday morning didn't even care to look at me in the face as she answered my question. She was short and seemed annoyed that I even asked. By the way, there was nobody in line. Also, I called a few times before I actually got there and no answer. I left feeling worse than I did when I got there.

i am a first time visitor to banfield and i was pleased with the vet's assessment, but very disappointed in the time it took and the refusal to credit me my first time visit coupon. i had mentioned the coupon on check in, and the front desk asked me to hold on to it til check out. on check out i had forgotten to mention it and was charged $58.95 for the office visit alone. i called the next day to ask for credit of the office visit and would have returned with the paperwork but they refused to give me credit. i had the paperwork and i called the day after for the credit but they still refused my request. i also was disappointed that they emailed me my itemized receipt rather than going over the charges at check out. i would have noticed the discrepancy right away if they had discussed the billing with me. i also didn't like the wait to get my dog back. they told me that it would take a couple of hours for a general exam and vaccines and it actually took 3 1/2 hours. it is not the vets fault, it is the system that is overloaded with patients. i counted 36 animals listed as patients for the day on the white board outside the exam room. that is too many patients to take care of in one day. the place operates like an assembly line and care can be compromised with that business model. i will not return to banfield, and do not recommend it.

They always take great care of my furbabies. I like the different health plan options that make it more affordable. Been taking my furbabies to that location for the past year, but been a Banfield member for 15 years.

Getting in for an appointment is always a breeze. Very appreciative of the team at this location. Our 8yo dog was not neutered when we adopted and we decided not to have him neutered because he is an only dog and therefore we find it unnecessary. Unlike many other vets, they agreed and didn't push it which I very much appreciate.

My rescue dog is very skittish, so we have to have the vet trim his nails instead of the groomer. All the staff at the vet office were friendly and understanding, taking the time to make sure that he could calm down and giving him treats. They even suggested that I bring him in occasionally so that they could just give him attention without an actual medical check or nail trim, so he could acclimate better. UPDATED REVIEW: I have never had a bad experience during a visit. The staff is enthusiastic and honestly loves the animals. The vets explain the different options along with benefits, risks, and costs, and they don't judge you on your choice (which I've had happen at other vets). Based on our actual visits, I'd give 5 stars. However, this particular Banfield location seems to have a problem answering their phone, and when you select "leave us a message" it tells you that extension doesn't work. I played phone tag with them for two weeks, by calling the PetSmart staff and asking them to write a note to deliver to the vet staff, but then 2-3 days later they'd call back when I was in a meeting at work or with a client, and they'd leave a voicemail giving me a phone number that didn't accept incoming calls, and then I'd have to start again. I live just down the street, literally less than 5 minutes away, but it's been faster and easier to get my dog scheduled, examined, and treated at the Banfield in Issaquah than to even talk to someone at this location. I wish they had more staff at this facility to be able to support the pet patients faster.

I appreciate the option of a wellness plan- if you need a dental cleaning it's well worth signing up for a year. HOWEVER- I'm pretty frustrated today. ALWAYS price check medications at other online pharmacies. Today my dog was prescribed Deramaxx 75mg for her hind leg arthritis- 15 pills for $75- WITH our wellness plan 10% discount (a 30 day supply). Pretty steep for someone who lost their job due to the pandemic (which I told them because I felt bad for stalling over the price.) When I got home, I checked Petco pharmacy and chewy pharmacy... Both were $75 for a 60 day supply (30 pills). When I called Banfield I was told that they would price match, but only at check out and they wouldn't take the medication back so I could save $75. So I'm SOL. Incredibly upsetting and disappointing. I just didn't think Banfield would price gauge on meds, but I guess I was wrong. Learn from my mistake!

I have had our dog on Banfield'a plan from when I got him. They have always been wonderful. I have heard their labs and services not covered under the plan can be a pricier than some other local vets.

Professional, courteous and always focused on the good health of your pet. I've never had a bad experience here, and I hope to continue enjoying the reliable service at this Banfield. No matter how big or small the purpose of the visit is, they always call the following day to check up on how your pet is doing! Love that personal touch.

Doctor Johnston is an angel, and I’m so grateful for how professional and kind he is. My puppy is quite nervous and would hid under the seats at the appointments. Dr Johnston would always get on his level and make sure he was comfortable and not terrified. I’m very happy with how they treat my baby.

EXCELLENT SERVICE!!! Banfield saw me to help my dogs when my own vet would not schedule an appointment FOR THREE WEEKS. My vet doesn't answer their phone, the voice-mail is full and communicates via text AT THEIR CONVENIENCE. A Banfield team member answered their phone and a listened to my dog's issue and worked us into the schedule. Thank you, Banfield, for taking care of my girls and reaffirming the values of true veterinarians.
