This is a top notch operation with thorough, friendly and caring people who focus on getting your pet healthy and happy. I have been going to Dr. Mandy and her staff for PT for a competitive retriever who had TPLO surgery. Laser therapy, PT and water treadmill have put her in top notch condition but so has the love and care they have provided. She thoroughly enjoys her treatments - it is the entire package! A great group! ????❤️

Jay and I were thrilled to find Dr. Mandi after taking our dogs to a different PT in Hood River for several months. We were shaken when that PT quit treating our dogs without any explanation. After that experience it was wonderful to find a PT we could trust and that would help our dog. Mandi has worked hard to find just the right exercise program for us and at making sure his knee brace is adjusted properly. We travel 2 hours one way to have treatment. Rupert LOVES the attention he gets from everyone. He feels better, and while his knee will remain unstable without the brace, Dr. Mandi is supportive of our choice for not doing TPLO-while making sure the device is fitting and being tolerated well.

I can't say enough good things about Healing Arts. My dog, Lucy, has IVDD and needed physical therapy following surgery last January. To start, we had a virtual consult with Dr. Mandi - an infinite source of information, in which she was patient and thorough as she explained water treadmill therapy, laser and physiotherapy, the therapies she thought would work best for our case. Their office is clean and highly functional. They were great about following social distancing and mask policies. They only used positive reinforcement. The reception staff is very professional. We specifically worked with Amanda and Whitney. Amanda was super sweet and helped Lucy get comfortable in a new setting. Whitney is FANTASTIC. I honestly can't say enough good things about her. Lucy was a little scared of the water treadmill at first so Whitney would go in with her! To me, that's going above and beyond. She worked so patiently with my Lucy who can be a little difficult at times! She showed me how to do stretches and exercises at home and made suggestions for things we were struggling on. We went back a total of 6-7 times and each time, Lucy would get so excited to see her new best friend, Whitney :) Lucy progressed slowly and surely and is still doing great. I know we got lucky with her recovery and a huge part of that was the care we received at Healing Arts. If you want to make sure your dog is in good hands, Healing Arts Animal Care is the best care you can get.

Scout had a slipped disc back in January and the vet recommended looking into physical therapy, that’s when I found the Healing Arts. Before them my boy needed help to just walk around on his own, now he’s back to his good old self enjoying life and running around again! They were very gentle with my pup and gave very clear instructions to help me work with him at home. The price was really good considering all that you get in the package, and they helped me find some great vitamins and products to help with his pain and mobility in the future too! I highly recommend bringing your fur baby here if they aren’t 100% and the team will do their best to get you there.

They treat my one-eyed cat like the prince he is. After a few months of rehabilitative therapy, he is able to jump on the bed again, and seems much happier/painless overall. Thank you Dr. Mandi & team <3

We were referred to Healing Arts by a good friend when we were looking for ways to help our 13-year-old Doberman, Pepper, age gracefully. To say we've been happy with Pepper's experience is an understatement. Dr. Mandi and the team are the most caring, wonderful humans we've ever met. Here's the key - they don't just treat symptoms; they treat the underlying problem. After the first consultation, Dr. Mandi sent Pepper (and us) home with exercises. We finally felt empowered with Pepper's health. Also, the acupuncture and laser therapy was making a noticeable difference in Pepper's mobility. I could go on for days about all the great things they've done for Pepper. You'll have to experience it for yourself. Give your pup the attention they deserve and take them to Dr. Mandi at Healing Arts!

I can’t begin to express my family’s gratitude. When our girl developed a spinal condition that resulted in a loss of function in her rear legs- we were told to get ready to put her down. Then we found Healing Arts. With the care and teamwork of the staff our girl has adapted to a cart ( dog wheelchair), is bright eyed and eager to be active. While we know we’ll eventually have to say goodbye- she is living with a tremendous of quality life - including an active play schedule that is joy to behold. Even more importantly- we truly believe Dr Mandy and the team sincerely care for our unique and glorious mutt like family. They limit the review rating at five stars- and that’s a pity- because it doesn’t allow acknowledgement of how absolutely outstanding the team at Healing Arts is in every way.

Our older schnoodle developed disk issues so bad that it was difficult for him to walk. He would limp and cry in pain. I thought he was going to need surgery... Our vet recommended Healing Arts as something to try, and luckily we did. Healing Arts was able to come up with a physical therapy plan that helped him heal! He had daily home exercises and diet recommendations which we followed. After maybe 6 weeks (?) he was even well enough to do his favorite thing in the world again--chase the ball!

Dr. Blackwelder and her team are extraordinary. We bring our two old Berners (Summit and Duke) for the trifecta (underwater treadmill, acupuncture, & laser therapy) each week. The therapies have helped tremendously in mitigating pain and, for Duke, who is especially messed up orthopedically, in building muscle mass. But beyond the therapies, when Duke's back leg function declined precipitously and he had an MRI several months back, Dr. Blackwelder helped us through some difficult post-anesthesia recovery --even checking in on the weekend to see how he was doing. This reflects the rare depth of love for patients possessed by Dr. Blackwelder and the rest of her team as well.

Everybody at Healing Arts is so caring and committed to helping our animal friends. My Casey always loved to visit with everyone and we both knew that they would always do their best to help him. Dr. Mandi is so exuberant and innovative to try whatever will help, and the whole staff is a wonderful, caring team.

The entire staff at Healing Arts has truly been a gift in the healing process of Brownie. Brownie, a Maltese mix who is a rescue and about 7-8 years old has intervertebral disk disease. While out of town he had to get a surgery because one of his disks slipped paralyzing him in both hind legs, the tail and his bladder. With much therapy, patience and love Brownie can once again walk, pee on his own and live a quality of life I was afraid we had lost. Healing Arts provides the services he needs for his continued care and Dr. Mandi and her staff are extremely attentive to his needs. I completely trust in the care and services they provide and Brownie has had it all from the under water treadmill, massage, acupuncture and laser therapy. I am truly grateful to have found a place where Brownie feels comfortable and I know he is getting quality care.

Our puppy Maggie was diagnosed with hip dysplasia at less than 6 months old. After a surgical consult, they recommended physical therapy in an attempt to delay (or avoid) surgery. We chose Healing Arts Animal Care and it has been an awesome experience for us. The care was holistic - appointments with joint manipulation, physical therapy exercises, laser therapy and underwater treadmill. Exercises to take home along with instructions (many with videos) and check ins to make sure we were doing ok. They recommended medication / supplement options and they also check in with our vet regularly. Maggie is SO MUCH stronger and she is no longer lame / in pain. With continued routine exercises at home and the occasional underwater treadmill session we have delayed surgery (so far). Our experience was only during COVID-19 times and their safety protocols are excellent.

So far my time with the team here has been extremely accommodating and gentle with my disabled pup. They are patient and willing to work with you and your pets needs in every way. After another horrible experience at another conventional animal care clinic, I can't wait to get back into the care of this team. Well worth every penny to receive this kind of care.

The staff here is so caring and thoughtful! The water treadmill, laser therapy, and exercise regimen geared towards Mick helped him recover nicely from his leg surgery. He recently enjoyed a walk on the beach and touring Seaside. He's a happy pup!

Our beloved Irish, Golden Retriever who is 9 years old had about 9 weeks of water treadmill therapy following TPLO surgery on his knee. Not knowing much about his background due to being a rescue, we had only observed at the beach that he did not like getting in water. We didn't know what his reaction would be to water treadmill therapy. From the first day with water at his knees to the 2d, 3d & beyond days reaching his tummy & beyond he loved it. Dr. Mandi is a caring, skillful & focused doctor willing to do anything to help getting our furry friend strong. Her staff is amazing at working with him in the water, playing ball, giving little treats & keeping him focused on walking. Irish is back to his old self - running, jumping & being a love. Thank you so much to Healing Arts Animal Care.

Our maltipom puppy Maple had to undergo FHO surgery for Legg-Perthes disease. After the surgery, she didn't want to use the leg operated on, which would have caused muscular atrophy and ultimately the loss of the leg. Healing Arts Animal Care gave us the knowledge necessary and gave Maple the help she needed so that now she's living as if nothing ever happened to that leg! They also gave great dietary advice. Maple is happier than ever.

We love Dr. Mandi and her staff. Dr Mandi has been amazing with our special needs dog Charley. She takes the time needed to address and work with Charley’s needs and anxiety. She goes above and beyond . We are so great full to have found her. She is very knowledgeable and skilled and has great people skills as well. She also makes it more affordable for the rest of us. My dog was hit by a car and broke her leg. She was just 3 and I wanted to do as much as possible to not have a limp for the rest of her life. Dr. Mandi and her team reassured us and were so generous in sharing their techniques and inspired connection with my dog. After only 5 months there was no limp and we continue to do some of the exercises they taught to be sure her leg stays limber and well. I am so happy to know a place like this exists to help creatures recover! Thank you Dr. Mandi and team

Dr. Mandi, Kelley, Whitney and Debi are all FABULOUS! I moved to Portland right after my dog received treatment for a shoulder injury and he needed to start rehab. I am a veterinarian and have very high standards of care for my pets. Since I wasn't from the area I wasn't familiar with the clinics which was nerve wracking. Turns out, the Healing Arts team was the perfect addition to my dog's care team and they were able to help me get Ode back into tip top shape! I was so relieved to find the perfect rehab facility. Thank you for taking such great care of my boy! We will continue to visit for maintenance therapy as he ages to keep him in the best shape possible for as long as possible! You won't be disappointed bringing your pets here. We love you Healing Arts Animal Care!

Dixie is a 5 yr old Heeler that we adopted from the Oregon Humane Society. Both her rear knee joints needed surgery and we chose Healing Arts with Dr. Mandi on the recommendation of our vet in Oregon City for post op therapy. They were so good and patient with her even though she was a grouchy dog due to her pain. I highly recommend this Therapy place to anyone who loves their dog!!!
