Best thing we did for our dog Luci. She is more responsive to us and more focused on being a good dog. Before the training, she would jump towards other dogs when walking or shy away. One extreme to another. She listened to us when she wanted to or wanted something. After the training, her focus and priorities are with us. We don’t worry about her running away when she sees a squirrel etc or jumping towards other dogs. She actually looks at us first then sits down. She walks off leash all the time except in crowds. Only because her humans worry. We take her everywhere with us and now she is even better. Off leash taught us how to communicate with Luci. Thank you Robert!!

We had such a wonderful experience with Off Leash! Very professional and reliable! Ian did such a great job training and talking care of our Giant Schnauzer, Lucy! She is so well behaved and easy to handle now, especially with her being a large breed dog.

Our training went extremely well and has made a dramatic difference in our activities. Prior to Off Leash K9 training, our dog would pull during our walks, bark at strangers, and ignore us. Now, the difference is night and day. She never pulls, sits when we tell her to, and heels during the walks. I would 100% recommend Off Leash K9 to anyone who wants to teach their dogs the basics or even advanced training. Thanks, again, for all the great training and tips. It has worked wonders with River. Happy New Year.

"Morgan Lampe was great! my dog, Whiskey, came back better then ever. She spent as much time as needed to teach me all the new commands, and with continued practice Whiskey can be trusted without a leash. Whiskey is also even more responsive then ever."

Excellent. The training was impressive and my dog runs off-leash, knowing too well that she will not go far from where I am or she will not run off. She is very obedient and listens to the basic commands. The trainer did a great job in communicating daily with us and sent us daily videos. I would use Off-Leash K9 Training for advanced training and for future puppies again. I highly recommend their training services."

We signed our dog up for the 2 week board and train. By the 3rd day, our trainer, Ryan, called and was very up front and honest about our girl’s anxiety. He told us he would not be able to provide the off leash part of the training due to her high anxiety. He offered us the opportunity to opt out and get a full refund. We chose to opt out at that time. We appreciate their full transparency, when some places would have just been “in it for the money”. I would definitely recommend them to anybody seeking that training.

I can't say enough good things about the team at Off Leash K9 NoVa. On a whim I scheduled a puppy consult with Carrie at the end of 2020 - I had a 10 week old puppy and I felt overwhelmed. This was the best decision I have made. In that one hour session, Carrie was able to teach my puppy several basic commands and she restored my confidence as a new dog owner. Fast forward 8 months later, I had tried other training methods with my pup and nothing quite stuck. I bought an 8 pack of lessons and I am so glad I did. Danny worked MAGIC with my dog, Penny - He taught her several useful commands and helped address my concerns with her behavior. He also helped me understand feel confident in the commands. We will definitely be booking more lessons.

I wish I could give a good review for them,. I had 2 weeks on board , however they didn't deliver the professional service they promise. I’m not even able to get the free refresher training. That’s so sad .

Great experience with Morgan at Off Leash K9 in Woodbridge. Highly recommend!! Morgan was incredibly accommodating. She knew how to work with my Berner who’s stubborn and easily offended by correction. She worked hard with my big floof puppy and even assisted me with reinforcing our training at my residence once I realized areas in need of improvement for both myself and my pup. Morgan has so much patience and talent in what she does. The only cons: Long wait (but that’s because it’s highly desired and worthwhile so reserve as soon as you can) and my session ended up during an intense heatwave—try to reserve something outside of the hottest months.

BLUF: the results are well worth the money. We are amazed at the difference the one week board and train had made; Ian did a fantastic job. Our dog is very responsive to all commands learned and is so much better on walks since we did the add-on heel lesson. While definitely more expensive than most of the dog training services, you get what you pay for, and the quality here is excellent. For those on the fence, it's worth the money.

Our trainer Will was professional through the entire process; from first contact to continuing to support us after the formal training was complete . He took our 7 month old lab and created a very well behaved pup. He set-up a strong foundation of learning that has been incredibly easy to keep up with and build upon. The hardest part was being away from our puppy for two weeks, but it was worth it. This is our third Labrador and is by far the best trained at such an early age. We self-trained our first two, but they never achieved this level of understanding. He really enjoys learning new commands. The foundational lessons that Will taught our pup: come, heal, place, etc and the work that Will did with us at the end of the training sessions has created a great bond between us and our pup. We took him to my in-laws this weekend and he listened to both my mother and father-in-law when they used the correct commands, without hesitation. This was the best investment we have made in quite some time. This was meant for Off Leash K9 Emerald Coast.

I hired Ian of Off The Leash K9 Training (Woodbridge) to train my 10 month old Goldendoodle. I signed up for the 1 week board and train program. Ian is a really great trainer and a great guy! He took a liking to my dog Joy right from the start and he created a strong bond with her during training. He taught Joy how to Come, Sit, Place, Release, and Heel in addition to door manners, food manners, and some other things I can't remember. She's a very happy pup and eager to please and I'm sure this helped her to learn everything so well in one week. Ian sent me pictures and videos every night of her training that were really well produced and showed off what she had learned for the day. When I went to pick Joy up he spent time teaching me all about the e-collar and then training me on how to issue the commands to Joy. We spent about 90 minutes going over everything and practicing with her and I was very impressed with her performance. I definitely would recommend Off The Leash K9 Training of Woodbridge and Ian as a most excellent trainer! Thank you again Ian for training my pup!

Very disorganized and unresponsive. I booked a 2 week board and train and the trainer overbooked and was unable to honor the dates we had originally agreed to. I had also informed them of my puppy's mE condition prior to booking and they said it would not be an issue and they would be able to accommodate. Then they changed their minds and informed me they WON'T be able to accommodate, and blamed me for changing the dates, when it was their fault. The trainer never responded to emails and the organizer left me hanging for days and I was unable to plan ahead as I was considering other trainers in the area who were booking up fast. It seems they don't communicate but they're extremely quick to take your money. Stay Away!

Absolutely DO NOT go with this company. I spoke with a rude “trainer” who was dismissive and called my hound mix a menace to society. This dog was a rescue who I inherited from my dead sister in January and before her, he was severely abused (knife stab marks and an old gun shot wound). He finished heart worm treatment in April, has been recovering and is absolutely scared of EVERYTHING so is reactive.. my brother came up on him once without warning so he tried nipping him because he got scared. That does not make him a menace or danger to society. This lady’s ridiculous response to the situation? Prong collar, no socializing and a muzzle. This dog is my ESA and has saved me numerous occasions. So how DARE YOU say this about a dog who has been through the worst yet somehow shows more love than a human being. I will not be taking down this review or recommending anyone to you guys. I’m absolutely appalled by your employees and company.

Elise was great training our two pups. She was flexible with time and very accommodating, plus she achieved great success with the doggies too. I feel confident that we can bring our dogs into most situations without trouble. Plus she gave me and my family training in how to continue successfully with their training at home. A great value and experience!

My 2 year old mix Darcy spent 2 weeks with Ian. Darcy loved it and was so happy. He really honed all his skills like heel and sit, down etc. Ian also worked with Darcy on dog reactivity and Darcy did great. I'm now confident with the right guidance Darcy will do well. Ian is very clear on instructions and training the owner, which is half the battle! I highly recommend off leash K9.

I sent my dog to Ian at OffLeashK9 for a 2 week board and train. Waited about a month after bringing her home to write this review. AMAZING!!!!!! My girl has always been eager and loving and now I have fine tooth control and she knows what’s expected of her. When she came home we were able to quickly and easily change prior bad habits and maintain the training. I received pictures of videos everyday she was gone and you could see she was happy, having a good time, and learning like crazy. Cannot recommend Ian and OffLeashK9 enough. Thank you so much Ian for not only the amazing training but your honest assessment and for thinking as highly of my girl as I do.

We took Bailey to get her off leash training and Ian did a remarkable job with her. She was there from 22 April - 6 May! She was a totally transformed dog when she returned! I highly recommend K9 Off leash it is well worth it! Ian also did a great job of explaining how to keep Bailey trained afterward. How to use the e-collar correctly, what commands to use and to contact him if we have any problems! Great job Ian and K9 Off leash, thank you!

Jade attended the board and train 14-28 May, and is a new dog now. She used to dart after cars, people and animals on our walks, and now heals perfectly. She can sit, place, lay down and come. Best. Money. Ever. Spent. Thank you Ian and K9 Off Leash.

We took our 6 month old English Springer Spaniel Rudy for the 2 week board and train for off leash training and we could not be more satisfied! He is so well behaved and calm now!! We can take him anywhere and he is not distracted and minds us so well. It has been so much fun feeling like we can take him everywhere with us now! If you are on the fence about doing this, don't wait- just do it. Tess, the trainer, took Rudy home where he stayed the entire time as a member of her family. She sent me pictures and videos of his training and made me feel so much better about being away from him. It was totally worth it!

We brought our adult rescue dog here because of her dog reactivity. She would always pull, lunge and bark when she would see dogs even across the street. We found Off Leash K9 through Google and were hesitant to take the E-Collar approach because we weren't familiar with it and initially felt it wasn't a humane tool. However, after some research and discussion we did find that it is a healthy, safe and effective training method as long as it is used responsibly. The process we did is the 8-lesson training package which I opted for over the 2-week board and train because I wanted to be involved in the process. The first 4 weeks are basic commands (come, sit, break, place, heel and down), and the second 4 weeks are with dog exposure. Our dog did quite well in the first 4 weeks and also well in the early couple dog exposure sessions. Because of this, our trainer (initially Ian who is great) Heather (for the last 3 lessons, also great) was willing to do sessions in uncontrolled environments to try to reinforce the reactivity training in real world environments. This was very helpful because it gave me a better understanding of how to handle real world situations, so I was very appreciative of Heather's flexibility and genuine interest in improving our dog's behavior. Overall, our dog's behavior has improved a lot, but it is hardly "fixed." While I didn't have a very strong understanding of dog behavior and training philosophy, I certainly do now. That is one of the great aspects of doing the lessons where we were present for the training. However, I do feel like the Dog Aggression Training Program was advertised much more as a solution when in reality it is a long process that will extend well beyond the 8 weeks. Some of this slight disappointment is due to my ignorance. Having not dealt with an aggressive/reactive dog before I didn't grasp the depth of the behavior, especially in an adult dog. Also not knowing anything about her history, we couldn't say definitively what may have caused this reactivity. Overall, I thought the trainers I dealt with, Heather and Ian, were extremely knowledgeable and professional, and definitely cared about our dog and helping her feel safe to improve her reactivity. I was perhaps a bit underwhelmed with the results after completing the 8 weeks, but I have the tools to keep making progress with our dog in the future. Dog aggression is a challenging and often deep rooted behavioral issue, as I've learned. From an obedience perspective, our dog has improved significantly, so if that is your main need from Off Leash, then you will be very happy.

Jake our trainer has been excellent and we can already see our dog understanding and following the commands after only 2 lessons!

Morgan Lampe is the BEST! We did the two week board and train and literally have a “new” dog. Our dog is now so well behaved, listens to commands, and no longer shows naughty behaviors like counter surfing, picking up our baby’s toys, pulling on her leash, or jumping on people. Our dog just seems so much more relaxed and happier-It has been so wonderful for our family! We can’t thank Morgan enough! Also, it’s obvious how much she truly cares about dogs and treated our dog as her own, our dog simply adored her as well.

After the two week board and train with Tank, our dog is truly a different dog. I routinely can walk our Lab Tuck, 4-5 miles through the community without a leash. Rarely do I have to use the e-collar. We take him everywhere with us and he is always polite and easily controllable. Well worth the cost.

My 3 year-old rescue Mila and I just completed an 8-session program at Off Leash K9 and I highly recommend it to anyone in search of dog training. In particular Heather and Ian did an amazing job, and Mila now has excellent recall on and off-leash, and our bond has never been stronger. We enrolled in the Dog Aggression program, but the obedience lessons “fixed” most of the issues I’d been having and all of the instructors were extremely flexible and taught advanced commands instead because Mila wasn’t reactive to their dogs. Before the lessons it was very stressful taking her anywhere as she was a terror in the car and would pull and lunge at other dogs on her leash. After just one lesson there was a noticeable difference, and she now can come with me anywhere without any worries of bad behavior. Friends often remark that Mila is like a completely different dog now. For anyone concerned about the E-collar: just give it a try. I wasn’t entirely sold on it before starting lessons but Heather did an amazing job explaining and teaching me how to practice and use it properly. Mila doesn’t mind the collar, and I rarely have to use the stimulation in our day to day life. It’s amazing to have the ability to communicate with your dog off leash across long distances, and that’s what the E-collar brings! In summary: I couldn’t be happier with going to Off Leash K9, the only thing I regret was waiting so long to sign up!

I finished the therapy course with my Newfoundland, Winnie, and I'm confident we have the tools to pass the therapy dog test! I really appreciated the training structure, giving us 1-2 weeks to practice the lesson. They show you how to utilize the e-collar safely and to your dog's needs. Most of our sessions were with Ian, followed by Jake and Morgan. Trainings were always constructive, helpful, and tailored to Winnie's needs and personality. Any/all questions I had, they answered. I've never trained a dog effectively before now, and it's a great feeling.

After going through initial half of lessons was never able to schedule the last couple sessions with trainer which were suppose to be in home due to lack of response then the pandemic hit followed by cancer diagnosis giving dog only 6 months. Since then have moved and tried to see if could obtain refund for remaining lessons to go to other location closer which company said they would provide should I show payment. After wasting time retrieving statements and message from trainer acknowledging the situation for future credit for new dog the Woodbridge location refused to issue any sort of refund failing to render full paid services. All though what training received was great the way this location is ran leaves a lot to be desired.

Ian helped our dog gain confidence and more importantly helped us know how to train and be good owners for our dog. The lessons were structured but also allowed us to tailor them to our dogs needs. Ian was so much fun to work with and we are so grateful for this experience!
