Good. Very clean. I love my new cat. I would have given 5 stars but I seen our cat 3 times and she had a squint eye. I asked 3xs to have it checked. They did not treat her and the day after we brought her home she needed treated for eye infection. I knew she needed treated but they said to watch it.

So thankful for Heritage! They are so absolutely kind, honest, helpful, and knowledgeable. We made an appointment online to come see cats and we adopted the best girl from them a few months ago! We received helpful information about her dietary needs and her background. The shelter animals are kept clean and well loved even with the ongoing construction. I can’t wait to see how beautiful it is when it’s finished! I would recommend Heritage to anyone looking for a furry friend!

Animals and staff are amazing!! However, I have never dealt with a manager who would be so quick as to throw two (2) of their own employees under the bus and to put total blame on those two (2) employees. And yet, the Director, Miss. Laska still continued to go out of her way, to make me feel lower than low. I believe she was upset because someone called out and furthermore she was not cross trained on the computer systems and did not have her own user name and password, yet that should never be an excuse to put down your employees or the person you are working with, who is right in front of you. I guess everyone has bad days...it was just very hurtful all the way around.

Everyone at this animal shelter was so kind and helpful! They allowed us to take all the time we needed to choose our perfect kitty, although I choose the first one they showed us ???????? Magic is a perfect fit for our home. She is happy, healthy, and loved very much. She even gets along with our playful puppy! Thankfully ???? Her full name now is Ms.Magic Sprinkles.

Volunteered here for Day of Caring with United Way. The staff was wonderful and my team so enjoyed helping out with the animals and organizing their feed /supply rooms of donated items. I encourage folks to keep donating and adopting these sweet animals from Heritage Humane Society.

There are not enough words to describe how much we love Heritage! The staff and volunteers who work here are the most kind, caring, and compassionate people and they all love the animals like their own. We have adopted five of our cats from Heritage and I’ll never go to another shelter again. I recommend this place to everyone and am so grateful to all the staff here who make a difference! You all are amazing and are so appreciated. Thank you for everything you do!

W got our kitten simba and we love him so much. We couldn't have found a nicer family member. He is so comical and has a disability which is neuro but he is great.

i recently adopted a cat from here, was told the cat had no health problems & was totally normal.. 2 weeks in & the has serious breathing problems & will most likely have to be put down. when encouraged to call heritage & let them know of this issue (as it would not have developed in the 2 weeks i have owned the cat) their choice to me was “you can surrender it”... so now i have a very sick cat, $900 in medical fees, & no support from the place i got her from. thanks for nothing heritage!

We have adopted many pets since 1997 and donated necessary goods and money sure it will be put to good use.

Great staff clean facility and beautiful pets

Really nice place that saves animals. They accepted some rat baby's I rescued and saved me from being overwhelmed. Im sure they will find them good homes. So if you need a pet look here. They had a nice lady walking a cute dog in their dog exercise area that was real nice to the dog.

Staff were so helpful. Wonderful experience even during virus. Highly recommend.

I spent a morning volunteering for this wonderful place and the staff is incredible. They were friendly, took my questions respectfully and they were a delight to work with. Plus, they fulfill an important mission in Williamsburg.

The Heritage Humane Society animal shelter is among the best of the best. The place is impeccably clean. Animals are given personalized care and attention, including dog training to enhance their adoptability. The caretakers & management are just great folks. Adopt, volunteer, give generously if you can. God’s innocent creatures thank you!

We adopted our lovely Tommie from this shelter. The staff were knowledgeable of their animals and obviously cared for each of them.

Everyone was super nice and answered any questions I had about adopting. They care about the animals and make sure they go to the right homes!

I was lucky enough to have had my Daughter adopt Oliver! Oliver was a cream color 6 year old cat who was pretty much known as the tough guy of Heritage. When she brought him home we had been fostering at that point about 11 kittens and they were all in my daughters room along with Oliver, because we had our dog, which we weren’t to sure how she was going to react to Oliver and his little posse at this point. Little by little we introduced Oliver to our world in the living space, and he just made himself right at home. Well a year later my Daughter gets married and Oliver gets to have a permanent sleep over with Grandma & Grandpa. Oliver changed our lives forever. He was the most loving, caring, YES - CAT I have ever met! I still cry over the passing of my best friend, my baby, my listener, my sleeping partner whenever I was hurting which is all of the time. Oliver passed on 3/7/18, that day is etched in my brain until I meet my best friend on the other side of the rainbow bridge. Thank You HHS for giving me Oliver, for giving me joy every single day, I just hope I was able to give him the same joy and love in return
