It was easy to make an appointment with Collins hospital for animals. They followed COVID-19 procedures ensuring safety for both themselves and us, as well as our pet. They came out and got our pet and called us when they were almost done. Then they had us watching how they trim our pets nails, which is really helpful going forward. Watching them with our pet made us feel like he was in good hands. They were gentle and kind with our pet, which put us at ease. This is definitely a prime place to take an animal to the veterinarian! I highly recommend.

i have been going to Collins Hospital for the last 10 years as they are near my house. every time you leave them a message even for an emergency they do not call back. I call them last week because one of my dogs was having a huge growth on is face that was painful that appeared in the last 2 days. it was a teeth infection. luckily there is Friendship hospital that helped me and my dog out.

Took my rabbit in for a pre-check up before neutering, originally when I scheduled for check up they didn't have any opening for neutering till November but the doctor was able to do it sooner!

I feel fortunate that someone of Dr. Cabaniss's caliber--and who understands birds--is only a mile away! She has discovered some things, like high sugar in the urates of one of my parakeets, that other vets missed. Dr. Cabaniss is thorough, knowledgeable, and kind. I never feel rushed in the follow up calls after a drop off. Her team is is helpful, efficient, and courteous about scheduling appointments and getting the doctor's answers to questions they can't answer.

My experience here was great. It was my first time going to a vet after adopting my cat Marbles. Dr. Fischer was wonderful and very attentive to Marbles. She took her time to explain things I needed to know & took a lot of care in answering the questions I had. Unfortunately, I had to change to another animal hospital near my house as this place is a bit far. I thought that in cases of emergencies, it perhaps would be better to have a clinic nearby. Collins Animal Hospital is still the best and I wish it were closer.

Very nice staff, only problem I saw was getting there from my location and the parking.

Thank you Dr. Jay and staff for taking care of our new pup! We were able to fly safely and calmly with lil Jib. He slept in my arms during the entire flight With love, Christie & Brad ????

Dr Fisher and Jackie are awesome. This place isn’t fancy but it’s in a great location, easy to get into/park and has amazing care.

Took one of my pigeons here for a check up, as they are one of the only vets in the area that treats birds -- they were great. I was in and out quickly, the vet and receptionist were both nice, and it wasn't as expensive as I expected.

Dr. Lynne has to be the best turtle vet in existence. She's knowledgable and friendly. Great with the turtles! The office staff is pleasant and very friendly.

Been taking my bunny to Dr Cabbanis here for years. Not only is she a whip smart doctor but the office staff is always friendly and communicative. Highly recommend

The only place in DC that treats exotics. Friendly, competent.

Love that Collins treats exotics, like my pet rabbit. My poor bun had a congested nose and had been sneezing a lot, so I decided to take her in. This was my first visit to Collins, and I was impressed. Dr. LaPorta was very nice and explained everything so clearly. My rabbit usually gets very stressed out when she has to go to the vet, but she seemed far less freaked out than usual. We got the treatment she needed without spending too much time or money!

I am so pleased to have found Collins Hospital. I switched over a year ago from my previous vet, because of proximity - one of my cats hates car rides. I have had very good service and have been especially impressed by Drs. F and C. When I lost a cat to illness last year, these women were professional and compassionate, two important qualities in a vet. This morning, one of the staff members managed to squeeze me in for a last minute appointment, after I discovered a sore on one of the cats. Finally, for DC - and in particular - Upper Georgetown, their services are reasonable.

They won't see you if you are one minute late, and have no problem stealing your deposit. Seriously, I'd suggest any other vet in the area.

I am so happy with how well they take care of my guinea pig. They see exotics which means our parakeet will have a vet close by if he gets sick.

Dr Cabaniss and staff have cared for all my dogs for more than 20 years (1995). I greatly appreciate the fantastic care and attention they always receive, as well as Dr Cabaniss's knowledge, experience, and pragmatism.

We had the most fantastic experience with Dr. Cabaniss with our two guinea pigs. She was in no rush, took her time explaining everything and made our two girls feel right at home and comfortable. Her tech, Darcy, was also great and was gentle and comfortable. We highly recommend Collins Animal Hospital. Wish we could give it 6 stars!

Dr. Cabaniss and the staff at Collins gave our dog excellent care throughout his later years and showed great compassion when it was time for us to say goodbye to him.

The vets take very good care of the animals and really seem to love what they do

Dr. Fischer was great with my bulldog. She went over the vaccines he needed and explained which ones were necessary and which were optional based on lifestyle. It was refreshing being spoken to honestly instead of being upsold unnecessary vaccines for my dog. I had virtually no wait time and was seen at my appointed time on the dot. I couldn't be happier!

I own a rabbit. What many would consider a normal pet is actually considered exotic by veterinarians. Finding Collins Hospital was great. Not only do they know how to handle animals, but they explain things very well and have nail clipping appointments. There is no question that I will be heading back to there many more times.

My regular vet does not handle reptiles, but referred us to Collins Veterinary Hospital for our very sick Chinese Water Dragon. The helpful lady at the desk arranged for an appointment within 2 hours. Dr. Cabaniss was extremely knowledgeable about dragons and admitted him for intensive hydration and care. She called daily with updates on his condition and he made significant progress in the 3 days of hospitalization. She gave excellent discharge instructions and handouts for future care. Pascal is home and doing extremely well. I do not have enough good things to say about our experience and his care and I am so grateful that we were referred to Dr Cabaniss.

Practice has been clean both times I have been in. Prices are fair and clearly explained and the staff is non-judgemental which is nice because I don't take my cats to the vet as often as some say I should. Full disclosure: My first cat lived to be 22, my second cat is 20 and my "newest" cat is 14.
