Meows Corner Sterling, Virginia

So cute!! Such different types of cats that you can adopt for only $120 (each) I believe. There's good drinks and great staff, highly recommend if you want to relax with a bunch of cats. You can also see a savannah mixed too.

The cats are healthy and the space is kept clean, which is obviously the most important thing. However, we were a bit surprised to find that no food or beverages were sold other than the same pre-packaged things you can buy at any gas station. It was a bit misleading, since you kind of expect a place with 'cafe' in the name to be a cafe. Additionally some of the cats have behavioral issues. One came up to me and was gently play-biting. After a few seconds, she very abruptly decided she was done and chomped on my finger hard enough that it was dripping blood and held on for several seconds. When we asked the employee for a bandaid, she said this was not uncommon behavior for this particular cat. We also saw her hiss and swat at multiple other cats while we were there. I have had animals my entire life, so I wasn't particularly bothered, but allowing animals that the employees have stated they know have a low threshold for defensive biting to interact with strangers isn't really what you expect when you come to a business like this. What if she had done that to a child that panicked or shoved at her? I hope she finds a home, it's just pretty clear a busy cafe with a dozen other animals is not the ideal space for that particular cat.

This place serves a really unique purpose for my family. Everyone in the family wants a cat, but my wife is allergic. About a year ago she really wanted to get a cat- we were even visiting the animal shelter. An hour in this place reminded my wife how miserable her allergies would get if we had a cat- the fifteen or so minutes we would spend at the shelter wasn't enough. It saved us from one of two terrible futures- re-homing a cat or living with awful allergies.

The staff are so lovely, the place is super cute, and the café has so many adorable cat-themed drinks. They make sure to keep the place clean. I enjoyed playing with the cats, they were so sweet! :)

This isn’t really my thing but I attended a party for a friend. The space was small and clean, the 10-15 cats were clean and well taken care of. Cafe stuff was available for purchase. All but two of the cats were available for adoption. Great opportunity to spend time with a variety of cats if one is looking to adopt.

This was our first time here and we had a great time. The girl who was working was very friendly and helped my son pet the cats and he and the cats seemed comfortable and happy. It was relaxing and fun at the same time. We’ll definitely come back.

Meows Corner is by far the absolute most therapeutic and pleasant cat café I have ever visited. The volunteers working there are exceptionally nice and helpful. And the crowd of kitties they have are wonderful.

Such a great idea. Come visit and interact with all the cats. They're all adoptable.

I guess a room full of cats is not as warm and cuddly as I imagined. They are mostly all napping and tolerate your presence.

Their rules are really just suggestions, apparently. They have an age restriction of 7+ up but a couple came in while I was there and had two children who were 4 and 2ish, and they let them come in anyway. I’m not sure if the parents guilt-tripped the employees or if the employees just don’t care… but the age restriction exists for a reason. These kids (and one of the parents) didn't seem to know how to properly interact with cats. Sure, I didn't see any tail pulling, but they were rushing in to pet cats without letting the cats sniff them, crowding around the cats, and ignoring cat body language (ears back and down and cat leaning away from you=please back off). Plus they were ignoring the "let sleeping cats sleep" rule, but the employees weren't enforcing that I guess. The rules are posted on the wall and are pointed out to the guests, but it’s up to the honor system whether or not guests actually read them. What started as a relaxing time turned into me just worrying about the cats and I ended up leaving my session early.

All the cats are cute and nice and I loved it! My favorite one is Russel since he's so cute and polite. They also have a big cheetah-like cat that I nicknamed "Floppa" after the meme cat.

Absolutely lovely!! My sister and I reserved an hour and it passed by in such a flash. All the cats are so lovable and appreciate some good chin scratches. Not to mention the workers are extremely kind! I would 100% like to visit again soon. ^^

Cute cat lounge in NoVa with very sweet cats. The cats were fairly relaxed and a few were more outgoing/playful. I was glad to be able to hang out with some cats with the easy reservation process! The staff were also very friendly and easy to talk to. I will note for the 3 stars: 6/27/2021 their AC was broken and I feel that affected the smells that accumulated in the space. I still chose to stay the full hour, but for those of you more sensitive to scents, keep this in mind until it’s fixed.

I brought my little sister here and we had a blast! All of the cats were so cute and sweet and our hour reservation flew by! The staff was so kind and even waived our fee for the extra half hour we stayed (they weren’t very busy at the time of our visit). 100% chance of us returning.

We were on vacation and missed our cats. So we stopped in and everyone was so nice and the cats were great! Definitely recommend this place!

Loved to interact with the cats. There was a sale on Groupon which was like under $20 for two people with drinks for the hour. The cats are pretty well socialized and friendly. It was fun to pet and play with them for a while. The cats are up for adoption as well, so that's cool. Because of COVID, there's a 6 person limit in the room. I would definitely recommend visiting Meows Corner - this was my first cat café experience and I enjoyed it.

Cats were extremely cute, but does not make up for rude staff. Basma was very friendly but there was a shorter woman who does not know how to handle proper customer service. When my girlfriend asked a question to clarify what information was needed on the waiver, the shorter woman responded "just put down what it asks for" as if she was talking to a child. My girlfriend just wanted to clarify what was needed. She also snapped at me, saying "well where is it?" when I didn't show her the groupon we had right away. Please go for the cats as they are extremely cute, but do not expect 100% customer service.

This was such a fun experience! The cats are so playful and adorable. The owner has her own cat there as well! Everyone was friendly and polite. Definitely coming back soon!

Cats are cute, but not many and small place. Don’t seem happy and the generally don’t like people. More people than cats in the room

This place is very therapeutic. Loved the atmosphere. Wanted to adopt one of the cats and put in an application. Unfortunately the adoption agency works at a minimal schedule and didn’t hear back until it was too late. I had adopted another cat two weeks later. Hopefully the adoption agency can keep up with applications on a more regular basis. Would have loved to adopted the cat we were interested in.

Cats are very playful(especially the big one). Comfortable environment and very sanitary. Customer service is very good. The lounge is great! Would come again :)

Lisa and her staff are wonderful and maintain a lively, ordered, clean and safe environment for the cats and their fans. They allowed my friends and I to book a private 1-hr party and wiped down surfaces between guests, which reduced some of the anxiety related to being in public spaces during COVID times. And of course we had a blast playing with the cats! Highly recommend.

My kids absolutely love visiting and playing with the cats. They love it so much that we ultimately adopted one. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the adoption process went very smoothly. Highly recommemd if you're looking to adopt a cat or just looking to relax for a few and enjoy their company.

This a such a fun break from the usual... and you know you're supporting a free-range alternative to animal shelters! Come play with the adoptable cats and consider making a best friend for life!

Lovely place, great way to spend some time with cats, great way to get to know a cat before taking them home. It is clean, comfortable, and the staff is friendly, and helpful. Definitely worth a visit and we will be back.
