First time at the awful place and last time. I’ve never before this visit had to deal with such unprofessional behavior from a front desk junkie in my life. Pure garbage! A $400 visit for absolutely nothing, but additional problems. I paid for an x-ray and I want want I paid for. Once they took my money for the x-ray, it became my property. Why didn’t they give it to me? I’ll drive across state lines for a vet before dealing with pure shenanigans with these folks again! If I could give zero stars, I would!

When I first took my cat in I had a wonderful experience. The front desk lady was out of the world and so was the vet. Two weeks later something serious is going on with her so I called the vet to see if they could look at her today and run some blood work. Most vets will have you kennel your animal there for serious problems and get to them throughout the day. I told the front desk gentleman than my cat has not eaten for several days now, low water intake, lethargic, labored breathing, and urinated outside of her litter box. The man on the phone told me that their earliest appointment is Friday. What is the point of having a vet when something is very wrong with your animal and you can’t get in right away?

Short answer: Would recommend to anybody in the Stafford area. Detailed answer: Overall good quality work, at a price that is a little steep for what is needed. My example is the medication required for my dog was $142, but the online price was $85. I understand an inflated price for convenience of in person, inventory turn around, and even paying employees, but a $60 increase is beyond my understanding. My only other qualm with this location is the lack of timeliness. I have been here a couple of times, and the vet techs are great. The veterinarian that has helped us is very knowledgeable, and the staff does not talk down to you in a manner that reminds you that you know a minimal amount of information within their career path. The only reasons that I cannot give 5 is because of the pricing as well as the few times that I have came here, I arrive 10 minutes prior to my appointment, call inside once parked (for covid reasons), and then proceed to wait roughly 20 minutes later than my scheduled appointment before my pet/pets are even seen.

UPDATE: I called the practice just before I wrote this review and the Practice Manager said the doctor would call me about my concerns in the morning. No phone call but got a nasty letter in the mail telling me they will no longer provide service to me. This is not how you run a business, yall. So unprofessional! Without going into too much detail, this clinic seems to be all about making money and doing outrageous procedures. Also do even ask to get "prescription diet" foods for a known issue or they will want to charge you another 250 dollars for bloodwork. Knowing that the issue is chronic and the food will only help. They need to actually care about their patients and not just money.

The doctors and staff love my dogs like they're family! My dogs get so excited and wag their tails when going in, and if that doesn't tell you how well the folks treat them, I don't know what else will!

Love Dr. DJ! Shes super patient with my dogs and doesn't try to force unnecessary treatments. My lab is super anxious and very dog aggressive and Dr. DJ is super patient and accommodating. They also offer military discount on Tuesday so even better!

I don’t even know who to thank and who helped us today. I’ll look at the paperwork later to learn names for a proper thank you but it’s too raw right now. What I do remember is how gracious and compassionate the staff, the vet tech, and the vet were today as we had to say goodbye to our sweet Winston. We didn’t have a local vet and I’m so glad we took a chance on you all. I just want you to know that your kindness and compassion in allowing our family the time for a proper goodbye from waiting on my husband and technical difficulties so our college-aged son could be in the room with us by video chat, meant the world to our family. We are beyond grateful to you all for your patience in allowing us to be there together and give our Winston an appropriate goodbye. Thank you will never be enough. The Thomas family.

I would give this place zero stars if it was an option. Long story short, I took my perfectly healthy kitten to this vet and he ended up with an injury. I took my new kitten here based on a recommendation from a friend. I recently moved to the Stafford area for work. I adopted a 3-month-old kitten from Stafford Animal Shelter on September 21. I made an appointment for a new kitten visit on September 26th. I brought my kitten in and vet and vet tech take him away to do a blood draw, which I thought was odd as the previous vet I had taken my animals to usually did those types of procedures in front of the owner. From the back room, I can hear the kitten begin howling. Upon bringing him back, they then swabbed his ears to check for ear mites and treated him for that while he was wrapped in a towel. Finally, they offered to clip his nails. They did this by scuffing him and then put him back in his carrier. Between the time of taking him for the blood draw and putting him in the carrier, I had not seen my kitten walk. Once arriving home, I noticed my kitten limping. At this point, the vet's office was closed so I had to wait until the morning to call. He continued to get worse and spent the night in his litterbox and could not get up on his own. He would growl at me when I came close to him and howled when I touched or tried to pick him up and was breathing really fast. I called Stafford Animal Hospital as soon as they opened that morning and explained the situation and was told if I could not make their only available appointment at 5 pm they would not see him. I work in Stafford but live in Woodbridge and would likely not have made it from work to Woodbridge and back by 5 pm. I decided to take my kitten back to my trusted vet over an hour away who made an appointment to see him later in the day to have him treated for what turned out to be a sprained ankle and the vet agreed it was likely the injury occurred at SAH. When I contacted SAH with the vet bill, my email was completely ignored. I then went in about a week later, only to be told that I was the one who injured my animal in the carrier on the way home and was trying to just blame SAH. The owner also only comes in once a month and was not available to speak, so this was all told to me by the receptionist. It has now been about a month since the initial visit and my kitten is limping again on the same leg. I would suggest that if you want a vet who cares about your animal and you as a client, you take your pet elsewhere and save the time and money of having to treat an injury caused by the vets at this animal hospital.

I was sad I had to find a new Vet when I moved states. Dr. DJ is amazing! She takes her time with each pet and really cares about her clients! She went above and beyond when my cat passed away and treated my other senior cat marvelously. She listens to all concerns and questions without judgement. There was only one office staff that ever gave me trouble as well in several years. They had no billing issues in my years, it was great! Highly recommend!

Only interested in $$$$. Rude staff gave shots NOT AUTHORIZED BY US and not due yet!!! Vet did not even TOUCH our dogs and said they were overweight. One is a golden retriever chow mix. Very very thick fur but never touched her! Said our dogs weren’t cared for!! Our dogs are our family. They are VERY WELL CARED FOR AND LOved! When asking questions and asked for our dogs records the staff was difficult and would not give them to us until we told them why we wanted them. We told them because we won’t be back. 3 people walked out with their pets! Horrible Horrible people!!!

Honestly the best vet clinic I have ever been too. I love all of the staff, they are always so very understanding of my dogs anxious behaviour and give her plenty of love. The best part is my dog absolutely loves her vet. PLEASE consider Stafford Animal Hospital for your pets, you won't regret it.
