I am incredibly thankful for the in-home care from Lovingkindness. Our beloved 16 year old cat, Milo, was declining rapidly and I initially contacted Lovingkindness to initiate hospice care. Unfortunately, when Dr. Dahlgren arrived for …

we engaged dr dahlgren for hospice care for our 13 yr old lab mix. dozer had been experiencing cancer issues for about 18 months, most recently lung cancer. we were not sure if it was really time for the big fella to move on because his quality of life was still good and we were really wrestling with what to do. what a relief when dr dalghren came out and evaluated dozer. she let us know the things to look for such as normal/abnormal breathing rates, and increased some of the pain meds for joint relief since he was 100 lbs and had lost a lot of muscle in his hind quarters. she also left us with a care kit to be used in case dozer went into distress with severe pain and nobody was available to assist with the next steps. this really made a difference with our anxiety since we knew dozer would not suffer. when dozer was ready, we called dr dahlgren in the early am and she came out to our home that afternoon on a beautiful december day. dozer passed on his favorite couch in the screen porch surrounded by those he loved and had brought so much happiness to over the last 13 years. i can't say enough good things about dr dahlgreen and her team.....it sure made a difference in our lives and we will not hesitate to call on her again for our future needs.

Loving kindness veterinary service was so so wonderful in our time of need. I was waiting for my adult children to fly to Richmond before we euthanized our 16 year old fur baby Alice who had a brain tumor and terrible seizure. Dr Alex agreed to come after 7pm So my children had an hour or so with Alice while she was still alive. Dr Alex was so kind and loving from the start. She explained everything to us and told us how the procedure would happen. We were all around our Alice lovingly until she passed….. I would highly recommend loving kindness vet to anyone. Even their follow up afterwards was so comforting…. ❤️????

Dr. Dahlgren (Alex) was an enormous comfort to us as we made the tough decision to put our 14+ year old pointer to sleep. I especially appreciated her responsiveness. Initially, I left a voicemail on a Sunday morning, not expecting a call back until at least Monday. However, she returned my call within *minutes* -- it was clear she understood that making distressed pet parents wait any longer to reach her would cause additional stress and worry. She was incredibly clear with her process and needs, helpful, respectful, and especially polite/gentle about her finances (invoicing, cost, etc.). She was kind and gentle with our dog as she helped her lay down and begin to relax. She gave us space, didn't rush us, and treated our dog with love and respect. Lastly, her followup communication after your pet has passed is clear and compassionate. I would absolutely recommend LovingKindness/Dr. Dahlgren for any pet parent making this tough decision.

I cannot say enough about the care & compassion I received from Dr. Alex Dahlgren at Lovingkindness. She was referred to me by close friends and, once she came to do an in-home quality of life visit, I felt comfortable & at ease. She patiently reviewed my pet's medical history in greater detail than my vet had provided in years. She explained her concerns & my options. I trusted my pet's final moments with Lovingkindness and I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful goodbye. 100% would recommend & choose again.

Dr Dahlgren and Lovingkindness are wonderful. She has a calm and peaceful way about her and during such a difficult time of letting your pet go, she tries to give you space and time. She is willing to answer any and all questions and helps you accommodate the needs of your family into this very difficult process. We have had to say goodbye to two of our dogs in less than a year and it has been heartbreaking but not being rushed or at a vets office , helped our goodbyes be more relaxed and not frightening for our dogs.

Alex came over to our home on the same day we made the decision to have our fur baby, Coka Moe, euthanized due to kidney failure. Alex was very sweet and gentle with her and communicated with us the entire process so we knew what to expect. Alex gave us some of our baby's fur clippings along with a paw print that helps to remind us of her which was particularly special. Alex was recommended to us through friends and we would also recommend her to those that would need her services during such a difficult time.

I can’t begin to say enough good things about Loving Kindness. We were blindsided and grief stricken and I felt like I was able to give my dogs last moments to someone who truly cared for her comfort and our emotional healing. She talked thru every step, answered every question, let us take all the time we needed to say goodbye, treated all of us with kindness and respect, and truly made a very sad moment feel peaceful.

We had to let our boy go about a month ago and it was the hardest thing we have ever done. Having Dr Dahlgreen come to our home and help us with this transition and give advice and just be there with us was very helpful and we are so grateful. No one ever wants to be in this position but if they are they should have the last memories and experiences and kisses at their home and say good bye there not at some vet or animal hospital. It was the least we could do for our boy.

The worst day with my sweet Lulu was met with compassion as Dr. Dahlgren came and freed her from her pain, in my home with me right beside Lu. Dr. Dahlgren explained everything that was going to happen and has been so supportive since. She understands how painful it is to let your beloved companion go and recognizes it is the kindest, most loving act you can do. She respects your pain and your decision. I highly recommend her.

I can’t say enough good things about Alex Dahlgreen and Lovingkindness. She literally saved me from the deep, emotional turmoil I was dealing with in caring for my Lucy. My regular vet was not giving me the guidance, proper care of Lucy and support I needed at the end of life stage. When was I supposed to know it was time? Alex provided a wealth of informational resources and a detailed evaluation of Lucy upon coming for a visit. It turned out that Lucy had a multi drug resistant urinary tract infection that my vet never properly diagnosed. However, by the time this was realized the strong antibiotics were too much for Lucy to handle and I could not put her through that anymore. She was almost 16 and was not getting around good at all. Alex came on a Sunday and I was able to plan in advance and have a last weekend with my girl. Of course it was painful and absolutely heart wrenching for me to let her go, but I can say that Alex made it all bearable and comforted me. It was peaceful and Alex was so patient. She is an incredible human being to do what she does. God bless her!!!

We were so fortunate to find Dr. Dahlgren 3 years ago to help us say goodbye to one of our sweet dogs, Saphira. She was so compassionate and kind and we were grateful for her help in saying goodbye. We recently had to have her come help us say goodbye to our other precious dog Gunner. We wanted him to have the same peaceful passing that Saphira had and she gave us that precious gift. The hardest thing to have to go through, but being able to love on your babies while they are in the comfort of their home was priceless. We are forever grateful.

Dr. Dahlgren came to my home to euthanize my Jackson because of behavior and aggression concerns. The decision to euthanize was extremely difficult to reach and she made the transition so much easier for me and my family. I've worked in veterinary medicine for over 20 years and the compassion shown by Dr. Dahlgren was insurmountable. She ensured every single detail was covered to make his last moments anxiety free which was extremely important to us. The kindness, reassurance, and compassion shown to my family was so comforting. It takes a special person to do the work that she does and she truly has a calling for it. I will always recommend her to my clients and use her service again when I need it. After my experience, I can't imagine saying goodbye to a four-legged family member any other way.

I had to put my beautiful cat Cookie to sleep, and called a couple of places to see about having it done at the house. I didn't want to put Cookie through the stress of having to go to the vet for this. I wanted her last moments to be as peaceful as possible. Loving-kindness was the third call I made and the only place that responded to me. 48 hours later and the other two places still haven't returned my calls. Luckily Lovingkindness was able to come out that afternoon. Before arriving, the procedure was explained to me. I was given the opportunity to ask questions. I was given the costs up front so there were no surprises. Cookie was checked first to make sure we weren't premature to euthanize. I cannot emphasize enough how compassionate Dr. Dahlgren was. I've had to euthanize a pet before in the vet clinic. It was so sterile and cold. Here, we were given as much time as we needed with Cookie. I was able to hold and comfort Cookie as she fell asleep from the sedation. When it was all done, Cookie was put in a basket and covered with a blanket. She looked like she was sleeping. I would definitely recommend Lovingkindness if you are looking for a place that will come to your house to euthanize.

Dr. Dahlgren and Gail are compassionate and caring. They provided valuable care (laser and manual therapy) and advice during the last months of our sweet Toby's life. When the time came, Dr. Dahlgren helped us say a very peaceful and loving goodbye to him. We highly recommend their services.

As most pet owners know, saying goodbye to your pet is one of the hardest times. Loving kindness veterinary care made this the best I could of imagined it. The Dr went at my pace, not making me feel rushed. She explained exactly what she was going to do step by step. The most important thing for me was that I felt like she truly cared. This wasn't just another dog/animal on her schedule. She cared and showed me sympathy for my loss. I would recommend them to everyone. And in my future if I have to make this decision again I will be using loving kindness veterinary care.

I can't recommend Lovingkindness Veterinary enough. Dr. Dahlgren came to our house following a morning snow storm. The roads were not good but she still came to help us. Her compassion, kindness, and patience made the difficult process of saying goodbye to our friend as comforting as possible.

Dr. Dahlgren gave our beloved dog Eli a peaceful passing in his favorite sunny spot on our porch. And in the days before, she was wonderful in patiently helping me think through when it was time to let him go. I couldn't recommend her more highly.

Saying goodbye to our fur babies is never an easy thing to do but Lovingkindness made it as peaceful of a transition as possible. Having had to say goodbye to fur family in the confines of a clinical setting in the past, I knew when it was time to say goodbye to my old man that I would much prefer for him to be home, in comfortable surroundings. Dr Dalhgren was fantastic. She clearly explained what the process would be, what to expect, and allowed the procedure to move at my pace. It was comforting for both my pet and I to be at home when we said goodbye. The dr made sure that we all remained safe even with the pandemic, only coming in the home for short moments to administer the injections while fully masked and then waiting outside the home. I highly recommend their services which are reasonably priced and about the same as what it would cost in an clinic if it’s time for you to help your fur family cross that rainbow bridge.
