Dr Hemsley is amazing. Our Charlie was comfortable with her and she treated him like her own dog. It's not easy letting a fur baby go but she made it bearable knowing that he was at home around family in a familiar place and not a cold sterile vet office. Definitely recommend if you find your family needing her services.

Had to put my beloved cat down. Heartbroken but Dr. Hemsley was wonderful. She gave me a pet picture frame with her paw print, sent me sympathy card and donated $ in my cat's name to an animal hospice.

Dr. Hemsley was quick to respond to my inquiry about home euthanasia for our family's dog and answered all my questions. When it came time for the procedure, Dr. Hemsley was so patient with us during those last precious moments. We received a warm hand written card a few days later with a note about a donation being made on behalf of our sweet Kylie. <3 Our family highly recommends Dr. Hemsley to anyone looking for at home vet services.

Driving an eighteen wheeler and having fur babies with me can be hard sometimes. Especially when an emergency situation comes up. My fur baby of 16 years had cancer and our regular vet had been keeping a check on it every couple of weeks when we were home. We had the surgery to remove it and unfortunately it grew back. After our last check up; went back to work in the last 3 days the cancer grew so much and her health declined so I fast,I called house call and she came out to meet us. She was kind and helpful. I really appreciated her making time for us when it was needed the most.

It took me over a year to find a great vet that I want to stick with in Richmond! She has come up with better solutions and treatment plans in two visits than other vets had in 6+. Highly Highly recommend her, especially for older animals who can’t easily ride in the car. She’s a god send!

When you find a vet who comes to your house, its great. When you find a AMAZING vet, who comes to your house and takes care of the things you couldnt imagine doing, its INVALUABLE. I cant speak highly enough about my experience with Dr. Hemsley with House Call Vet RVA! My family and I had to say goodbye to my favorite little man Max-a-million this week after 16 years with him ????????????. He had been suffering from an older back injury and health complications from dog diabetes, and we noticed his health was quickly declining over the past couple weeks. I felt so overwhelmed and had no idea how to handle everything that was going on with him. I called Dr. Hemsley on Sunday morning because little Max could barely move and appeared to be in so much pain. She was at our home just a couple hours later and did a quality of life consultation with my family and me. I was blown away by her professionalism and the genuine care she showed towards my family during this difficult decision. Dr. Hemsley was incredibly knowledgeable, she helped us understand what Max was experiencing, and her objective yet compassionate guidance through this difficult time. With Dr. Hemsley’s guidance, my family and I felt comfort in saying goodbye to our sweet Max. I cant thank Dr. Hemsley enough for the support she showed my family and Max during his last few minutes while we said goodbye. She was patient with Max and waited until he was completely relaxed and comfortable before taking his trip to heaven. I could never imagine putting him through the anxiety and stress of going to a vets office to be put down. His last moments were beautiful and peaceful, surrounded with loved ones on his favorite spot on the couch. Dr. Hemsley, I cant thank you enough for helping our family and Max-a-million through this heart crushing experience... Max is family and I am so relieved that you helped him go in a painless and stress free way.

Dr. Hemsley is fantastic! My cat had a cough and no one was able to tell me what was going on, but Dr. Hemsley was able to help me out after spending a few minutes with my furry friend, Oscar! Cannot recommend her enough!

We love Dr. Hemsley! We used House call Vet RVA when it was time to say good-bye to our dog, Sid. My dog always was anxious to come to go to the vet. Dr. Hemsley was able to come to the house, and Sid was comfortable and surrounded by his family. Dr. Hemsley was very compassionate , and she took care of everything. Loosing a pet was very hard but having her come to the house made a better for us and for Sid. Highly recommend.

Kaitlyn saved my cat Bob from death’s door! Kaitlyn is an awesome vet! She is very knowledgeable and goes above & beyond. In one instance, I didn’t know my cat had been bitten by another cat and it turned into an abscess and he was deathly ill. She cleaned the wound, gave him fluids and meds and then kept checking to make sure he was responding to the meds. In another instance, I found a stray dog that was covered in skin infections and was clearly in bad health. She came to the rescue and she gave the dog a haircut so we could bathe her and put flea medicine on her skin to stop the itching/scratching. Poor thing. Kaitlyn got rid of the pain that poor dog was in. She is truly a caring vet and person. I wouldn’t have anyone else treat my pets!

Dr. Hemsley has taken care of my pets for almost 7 years. She is the very best at what she does and she treats my pets as if they were her own. She is always very quick to answer my questions and scheduling is so easy. My dog, Alexander developed chronic urinary tract infections. Dr. Hemsley came into our lives at possibly the hardest time ever. She met with my old man and helped him with his pain medication management and even gave him some acupuncture! She was available by phone multiple times and was extremely caring as we made the decision to put him down. She also made herself available on a Saturday when it was time to say goodbye to our sweet boy. It was a moment that I had dreaded but she made us all, humans and dogs alike, comfortable as we sent him on his way. She will be our vet of choice moving forward with our other dogs.
