Sycamore Veterinary Hospital Midlothian, Virginia

We have been using the Sycamore Vet Hospital for years to take care of our Shih Tzu pups. They do a great job. Very friendly and caring staff. Highly recommend them!

We are a regular patient of Sycamore and have had a great experience with them up until now. Our dog has been very sick since Thursday and has underlying liver issues that contribute to him being ill and cause extra worry on our end. They closed their office early for New Years Eve and closing early today for “snow” which is not even an inch on the ground. Even if they weren’t closing early today they don’t have any appointments available for 5 days. How can you call yourself an emergency vet when you can’t get an existing sick patient in for 5 days? They showed no sympathy or concern on the phone and offered no other solutions for our poor pup except for being on a waitlist. Absolutely ridiculous.

Sycamore Hospital has been our Vet for many years - and we want to say THANK YOU for many years of care, and especially these past two years during the pandemic. We've had several senior pugs, and Sycamore always does their absolute best to work us in when age rears its ugly head :/ Sycamore came to our rescue once again at the last minute on December 9th when it became clear one of our pugs was ready for his journey across the bridge. They worked us in within just a few hours when I called that morning, and we were able to experience his passing in a familiar setting that has always proven to be the most dignified and compassionate we could possibly ask for. Our family is very grateful to be part of the Sycamore Veterinary family and we highly recommend them!

They were very caring when I had to have my boy put down. They were really nice when I brought in our new puppy. The only issue I had is that it felt like a sales pitch when being explained pet insurance and vaccinations.

Best vets and staff in RVA!!! I have a cat whose behavior is horrific but everyone is always kind and sympathetic!!! 5 stars!!

I have been coming here for the past four years ever since I got my first puppy and I love them. I have now brought three dogs, a miniature daschund, a standard poodle, and a great dane, and the staff here has taken care of all of them with such love, compassion and care. I love these guys and I can't recommend them highly enough.

They seem to always know how to treat my Louie with such care.

Dr Veitch and his staff are very professional and treat your pet as one of their own. Our older dog had surgery and we were very pleased w/ the treatment as well as the communication from the doctor and the technicians. We were stressed about this procedure and they helped us through the process. Our dog is in great shape and we appreciate the love and care given by this group. Would never consider another vet.

We are regular patients at Sycamore. We had to put our bulldog Otis to sleep and they treated us with such kindness and compassion. They made a difficult time a little better. We have a pandemic puppy now and when she was injured and they couldn’t fit her in, they helped call to find a place who could see her immediately. The staff went over and above the service I would expect, so I would highly recommend Sycamore.

I've taken my cat Rhys to Sycamore for his entire adult life (he's 10 now), and they are wonderful. He had a urinary blockage when he was about 3 years old and they got him through that and have provided excellent care before, during , and after that traumatic event. The vets and staff are excellent - professional, empathetic, and helpful.

Had to make 2 trips there because the Vet doesn't talk to the folks that check you out, and they don't know what the left hand is doing because of the right hand.

Dr. Hartman is truly amazing. My appreciation for her and this place is HUGE! My cat has had the worst few weeks with wounds on his neck - it’s been really stressful with moving him to a new home twice and dealing with his lesions and trying to figure out the cause. Dr. Hartman constantly checks up on him and calls to stay in communication with me. They are so compassionate for my animal and helpful. I have sooo many great things to say. Thank you Sycamore Vet for all you do, it is appreciated beyond words!

Outstanding service. My boy went in to get neutered and I was sent text messages as well as pictures before, during and after his surgery. Got a phone call the day before from his vet tech to go over everything, the day of surgery a call from his Dr ( Hartman) and another the day after. I wish hospitals treated humans like Sycamore Vet treats our fur babies.

These guys are great, been with them for 13-14 years now.

Update: I'm sad to hear that both Dr Adwell and Dr. Russell are no longer with Sycamore :( Hoping we will continue to have the same exceptional service with Dr. Dermady. I love Dr. Adwell and Dr. Russell and the entire staff at Sycamore. They are so helpful. I've got 3 animals all of which seem to have something going on at any given time, they range from 6yrs to 15yrs old. Sycamore is so helpful with their recommendations on treatment they only do what's needed and provide options on treatments where they can. They work well with all of the specilists my cat and dogs see so everyone is up to date on their conditions. Sycamore was the 3rd vet we have tried in Chesterfield and we are so happy we found them 6+ years ago! If you need a great vet that will love your animals as much as you do call Sycamore!

Sycamore vet is always very friendly and helpful. They work with you to get your pet seen in a timely manner, will answer all questions for you, and the vets are very thorough. Thank you for taking great care of Luna!

Always take very good care of our dogs. They look forward to visiting

We decided to change vets for convenience and we couldn’t be more disappointed. My English bulldog had a bad ear infection which took months to get straight. Once it did there was no recommendation besides a $600 blood paneling or a $1500 skin graph to prevent future infection. Of course a month later she was back with another bad ear infection except this time I was charged double for the medication. I spoke with taryn (office manager) and she said it looks like I was charged correctly and the other two times were Oversights. Even though the vet and the tech both insured me I was paying the right price the first time. Taryn told me she would speak to the vet and call me back. Considering this was over two weeks ago I assume I will not be receiving a phone call. The overcharge was $30, but considering we had spent over $2000 in 4 months money was not the issue. I have since talked to others vets who all agree I was being nickeled and dimed at sycamore. There are better qualified and more honest places to go in the area. I would by all means stay away from this place.

We had to put our 4 year old tuxedo cat Petey down a couple of weeks ago and I can't praise the staff enough for how they treated Petey and us. They showed compassion and such warmth. Whenever you have to put a pet down, you always begin to second guess your decision and wonder if you are doing the right thing. They made us feel that we definitely did all we could for Petey and that we made the right decision. It was a relief! Thanks to Dr. Bolling and her assistant who took great care in making Petey comfortable that day, and to Dr. Dermady who cared for Petey during this time of Covid with several appointments and was there every step of the way with good advice for Petey's treatments and always the voice of reason. In the middle of all this sadness, we got a golden retriever puppy named Remy and Dr Dermady will care for him. We look forward to many happy years working together to provide the best life for our new little boy. Thanks so much!!
