Great place for your pet.

I have a 9 year old chihuahua yorky mix, her name is Tulie and she had never gotten groomed before i brought her in and this was her first time getting groomed. I am so happy I picked this place and it was a great experience. My dog is not always the best with nails or cuts and can be aggressive but the staff were very understanding and super kind. My dog looks great and I will definitely bring back again.

Pricey but they do a good job.

Be aware, they accept CASH ONLY. I wish they told me ahead of times before picking up my dog close to their closing time.

We took our 6 month old cockapoo for her first grooming today. We also took her a bit earlier for a bath and tidy. She looks beautiful and was actually bouncing around when I picked her up. Loved our groomer and the entire staff.

I take my dog for walk-in nail trims. The people are friendly and great with my energetic 1 yo GSP. Great price and easy process.

They listened carefully to what I asked for. Took picture of what I wanted my little girl to look like and literally I received exactly what I asked for. I’m so happy. I have a rambunctious giant schnauzer puppy that just turned 7 months old. I would definitely recommend Dog A Do!

They did an amazing job with my pet! Great customer service. Grooming time is comparably shorter when compared to competitors. I would definitely recommend!

I took my difficult pup in for a walk in nail trim based on all the positive reviews online. Other people with difficult pups had great things to say about how the staff was able to take care of their pups with no problem. BELIEVE THE REVIEWS!! They took care of my dogs too long nails in no time!! It was her first time and she behaved better for them than she does for us at home ???? FYI...they DO NOT take cards, only cash and check so come prepared (there is an ATM nearby just in case) And tip the staff!! They do great work. We will definitely be back!! Thank you Dog A Do!

My brother takes my dog to this place just because it’s close by and she never comes back completely clean. Tried taking her myself one day and made it clear I needed her nails trimmed , ears cleaned and a thorough bath , but she still came home smelly, ears were not touched (which irritates her) and they didn’t even try to trim her nails. Paid 50 bucks for nothing but a cute doggy scarf. They’re very nice , but they don’t do a very good job actually grooming and will leave your dog in the cage without notifying you they’ve finished.

We have been coming here for years and they do a great job at a good price. However, we have only been here once during the pandemic and don't think we will be returning. They did not seem to be taking even the basic precautions. When we picked up our dog they had a contactless sign in, but an employee came out to great us without a mask. Contactless drop off and pick up was similarly handled without masks. They have no policies for COVID on their website either. Even more of a concern is they don't seem to have policies in place to keep their employees safe. No masks, cramped quarters, windows closed, no distancing. We don't feel it's ethical to come here again sadly. I also think it's strange they only take cash. Always seems suspicious from a tax perspective for a business with this much volume...

First I want to say that I know the owner of this salon on a personal and professional level. I came to work at dog a do(kat Brooks) in 2000 to 2003. At this time, I had met her through another well known grooming salon in Herndon before she opened up her own. So, before I asked her if she needed help, I knew the type of woman she was. And that is a woman that, loves her clients and theirs fur babies. Just as myself. Now we fast forward to 2020. You have the internet for all kinds of things. A lot of people today (younger than me and kat) wouldn’t know what to do without the internet lol but with that being said, I see that there are customers (ones that know her and love her work) that get on it and use it to say things that they have no clue about towards her and her salon. This whole covid epidemic is new to everyone. And for us groomers, it is very hard to work with masks on. We have to bath, dry, and finish each dog. There might be 50 in there a day. So, no, we don’t always put in a mask to work. Kat, wear glasses so the mask dogs up her glasses to wear she can not see to do the beautiful work she does on each animal. We are working with live, moving, breathing animals. We are not working with food, gas, etc. we have to have our full sight on these animals at all times. If not we could easily hurt a dog or cat. And for what? Cause you want us to wear a mask to where we can’t see? Kat takes every precaution In her salon to make sure everyone is safe. I work in Florida and not one person in our salon has a mask on. We are not standing on top of each other breathing down our necks and neither is kat and her team. If you have anything negative to say about anyone? Say it to someone that loves negativity like you do. Please let her do her job that she’s been doing for over 30 years. She must be doing something right smh you keep up the good work kat and dog a do team!!! I recommend anyone I know in va to dog a do!!! We love you dog a do team!!!

I really wanted to like this place. With all the good reviews I figured they had to be good. Well, I was sadly disappointed. I will admit that I am a bit over protective with my dog. But when I'm paying for a service I expect my instructions to be followed and they were not on several occasions. The groomers are also very inconsistent, a few times I loved the cut and a few other times the cuts were not very good. I suspect this was because I didn't request a specific groomer. Regardless, I don't think we will be back here.

My husband and I have been taking our dog here for a few years. We prefer to have the same person groom him as groomers become familiar with their regulars and it makes the experience less stressful for the dogs. Recently, our dog’s regular groomer left. He has been groomed twice since. No issues the first time with a less familiar groomer. Huge issue the second time. I stressed to the owner that my dog needs someone gentle, patient, and careful to groom him. She reassured me that he was in good hands. Not the case. It took longer than usual to groom him—which I found odd because it never took more than three hours even over holiday weekends. I called twice to check on him. The first call was over two hours after dropping him off when I was told they just finished his bath. Why did it take almost 2.5 hours to take him back to bathe him when he was dropped off first thing in the morning? Since I had to be somewhere before he was done, my parents were kind enough to pick him up. When I got home, my dog was initially happy to see me, but the happiness faded to fear and trepidation with the tail ever between his legs and his body trembling. It was incessant; he wouldn’t stop shaking. Upon checking his ears, I noticed a crusty yellow Quick Stop on his left ear. I also noticed some areas that were dipped and much closer to his skin. I can see they clipped his left ear, but as it heals and to my horror, it looks like they clipped a part of his ear flap off. The first couple of nights home, he would shake and he literally went to hide in a bedroom closet multiple times—the same closet he ran to after he was attacked by a family member’s larger dog and pinned to the ground by his neck. He also still will not play like his normal self. I understand that accidents happen and all, but nothing was reported to me or to my parents. Nobody called when it happened. Furthermore, any incidents were denied to me when I confronted them. What happened was shoved under the rug by these people. I was also lied to about other things by the manager over the phone when I called to ask what happened to my dog and his ear. I only know this because my mom told me exactly what happened when she picked him up and the manager’s story does not corroborate. I am furious. I would expect the decency to report any accident for awareness so the pet owner can keep an eye on the spots as well as for further care to ensure infection does not set in and proper healing of wounds occurs with as little pain as possible. Unfortunately, I had to discover the wound on my own and clearly, our dog is traumatized. I can’t trust people who hurt my dog (even if it is an accident) and then lie to me about it like I don’t know what my dog’s ears look like and I can’t tell when a part of his ear was clipped off. For the sake of his health and well-being (and my peace of mind), he won’t be going back.

They do a great job with my standard poodles. They look show-ready every time.

Outstanding people, but they only accept cash. It’s 2020, they have to update and change with times.

SO HAPPY we found Dog a Do!! Living 2.7 miles away, I’m surprised we had not passed by this location earlier. I wanted to find a great place for our puppy, now that she’s a little bigger and doesn’t love bath time with us. The recommendations from Nextdoor were super positive for Dog a Do. Such great ratings overall also. I was so pleased with the friendly and welcoming staff. Zoe, our pup can be a little too energetic to handle, but she was so happy when we picked her up and they did such a wonderful job! Smells great and her nail trim is perfect! This is definitely our spot for keeping her clean and fresh. I also like that the pick up crate area is up front, so they’re not alone in a back room. Overall, couldn’t be more pleased. Thank you Dog a Do!!

DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE! If I could give less than 1 star, I would. This place should be shut down. Our 9 month old puppy went here for his 2nd ever grooming appointment and not only did they not trim any of his body hair (asked for .5-1 inch to be left and instead nothing was cut) he came back with cuts all over him (pictures below). When I called to say how disappointed I was with the clear lack of care for our dog, they couldn't care less and instead tried to say there were no cuts. Also says a lot that they are cash only so as to have no record of refunding. I can't express how disappointed I am and how badly I feel that our dog was getting cut by sharp razors for 4+ hours with no mention to us. Will never be going back here ever again. As a note - they aren't even listed on the Better Business Bureau website showcasing how they are an illegitimate business. DO NOT SUPPORT.

Took my baby pug here on Christmas eve and I was very happy. The staff was accommodating I was running a few mins late they still took him. The price was very affordable. I could tell they loved pets because they treated puppy with love and care. Will definitely keep taking winston here for his grooming.

My dog always leaves happy, looking and smelling great. Groomers seem to really love animals. I like that the crates they're kept in while not being groomed are in the same space as the groomers - not some back room. Cash/check only is kind of inconvenient, but something I can get over.

I was very surprised to see velvet someone down there have a one-star and say their dog wasn't cleaned you couldn't possibly have called there. They would have corrected it for you right away. The owner is awesome and so are the groomers I don't think you addressed the issue other than a bad review. No one can fix a problem they don't know they have

Easy to get an appointment. Very nice to my dog. He's nice and clean and has a cute bandana when he comes home.

My mom took her dog here for years so I decided to take my dog there for her first groom. They get a 2 because my dog turned out good. I’ll return to places with mediocre service if what I’m getting as a result is worth it, but in this case I just can’t do it. It was like going to the DMV but worse.

We could not trim nails for our adopted pup since she is always very scary of it. We had to take her to Dog a Do today, they did a fantastic job. Thank you!
