Dr. Smith is the absolute best. He was so knowledgeable, empathetic, and a true advocate for my cat Molly. When my local vets ran the wrong test, Dr. Smith and his office were on it and had my local vet redo it. I thought my cat had a fatal disease (FIP) due to my local vets giving me incorrect information from a different test, but by reviewing the test results from my local vets and double checking their work, he was able to confirm his suspicion that she is healthy. This was so important to me after going a week or two thinking my cat was not going to make it (and it only took that long because at the time Dr. Smith was out of office for a week or two, maybe for a vacation), but the day he came back from vacation he called me immediately to let me know that the wrong test had been done by the other vet and that he truly didn’t think she had FIP but he’d have them run the right test just to be sure, and he was right - she’s fine. He also went over the pros and cons of taking her eye out and the consequences for each so I could make an informed decision. He even gave me a call afterwards to make sure she was doing well after the testing issue was rectified. All around fantastic vet. Definitely the best of the best and 100% worth it. So glad I was able to work with Dr. Smith and his staff!

They are great! The got me in fast for an emergency and fixed up my girls eye until they get me back in for surgery. Its expensive but anywhere with this specialty will be pricey. Everyone is nice and helpful. The doctor is amazing and explains things well.

I’ve had two dogs treated by Dr Smith. My jack Russell Had eye cancer and my shih tzu had a multitude of problems at nearly 16. He was so kind and gentle with her and was able to save her eye so she could celebrate 16 a happy girl. The entire staff is wonderful. I am happy my vet recommended we see Dr Smith. He’s a phenomenal doctor and a phenomenal human being as well. You feel like you and your pet are important.

The attention given to me and the patient is remarkable. Dr. Smith time and attention is otherworldly. Very knowledgeable and receptive to concerns and alternate treatment methods. Takes his time to explain in detail procedures and possible complications.

I called to get my dog‘s sudden blindness checked out. Lucky enough the friendly staff was able to get me in the same day! I was very happy and pleased with the experience, the treatment by the staff and the explanation / attitude of the Dr. who told me what was going on. Great place I can only highly recommend! Thank you

Dr. Smith is not only a phenomenal vet ophthalmologist, but he's kind and caring. Today I took my dog in for his follow-up exam (he will hopefully be having cataract surgery in the coming weeks), and the lady in the car next to mine had an emergency situation with her dog. She was in tears, and Dr. Smith stopped talking to one patient to address what was going on with this lady and her dog, who he had just seen. He was so, incredibly kind to her. It melted my heart. He also apologized for the appt. taking so long, when the problem was with my dog's eyes taking a very long time to dilate. Even if that weren't the case, the wait wasn't any long than at my primary care office. He just really, really cares about his patients. I am so glad that I found him and this practice!

Greetings I took my dog in to be seen and because of the virus, everything is being done different and I am ok with that and appreciated the consideration. Once the paperwork was done, I had to wait maybe 20 minutes, I saw the doctor come out but had no idea he was looking for me and my pet but he was, once I realized that, I walked towards him, a very nice man who completely surprised me by coming out and taking details about my pet. I knew then and there that I was in the right place, he returned roughly 20 minutes later with my pet and explained everything to me and told me what would help with my pets condition. I will recommend this place because of how I was approached and how my pet was taken care of, I guess you can tell how impressed I was but I have never had that happen before, someone not so anxious to get you in and out but anxious to make sure that everything was crystal clear. It was a great experience and I thank Dr. Smith and his staff for a customer service experience that made me feel like I was their only customer, so much so that I was happy to pay them ???? The only part about the visit that I did not like was the paperwork and although I did not answer questions like ssn, place of employment etc... I was still treated kindly. I don't own a business but with the regularity that identy is being stolen, I would feel better about providing that info if a privacy act statement was attached to tell me how my info would be used. Other than that, the Animal Eye Care Center gets a 10 from me.

My cat has an eye condition that suddenly transferred to the second (good) eye. He was being referred by our regular vet. There are no appointments available for 2 months! This does not help him at all. :( I guess there is a critical need for vet opthamologists. Just hoping my cat can keep his sight.

If you're reading this because you need an animal eye doctor, the answer is yes, call now and get your pet in. The drive and $ is worth it. I've been bringing my Pekingese pups here for years. Dr. Smith is awesome, cares for your pups and the owners. My dog, Daytona, was an eye ball mess. Lost 1st eye at 7 yrs because i used GP vets, not him. Dr. S helped me keep his remaining eye until he was 14 yrs old. Surgery, weekend emergencies, Dr S was there for us both. Unfortunately age and no immune system caught up to my pup and the last eye was no longer saveable. Dr S held back tears. Daytona lived 18 months with no eyes until age caught up to him and he passed 3 weeks shy of his 16th b-day. My current Pekes see him too. The now-old one has usual Peke eyeballs. My younger pup was adopted with an old eye injury that he's monitoring and doing so well that he will probably be released in a year. If your pup has eye problems, get a referral and get it here. It's more $ upfront, but what Dr S can do for your pup to stop the downslide will save you the $ later trying to fix a mess later and will save your pet's eyes.

We were referred to Dr. Smiths office by our main vet. I was pretty shook up from having some health concerns for my best furbuddy. In the consult with Dr. Smith, I called him a “soft place to land” which upon saying it I felt a little creepy but now I’m standing by it. Although my buddy’s prognosis is complex, I still felt he was very taken care of- he came back to me perky and happy. I read a review earlier about Dr. Smiths knack with animals and I fully agree. My dog, who is uncomfortable and sometimes a bit picky about people, went right to him and didn’t even look back! If you need an eye dr for dogs (something i didn’t even know existed until earlier today) Dr. Smith has my vote!

I would highly recommend Animal Eye Care Center. The staff members are friendly and caring and Dr. Smith was very thorough and informative. We traveled from an hour away to see him and we were not disappointed. I appreciated that in these times he and his staff were friendly and the entire process was flawless. Thanks so much!

The staff were friendly and professional. Dr. Eric Smith made time to go outside to talk with me about my cat’s ailment before and after the examination. My cat has an eye condition Dr. Smith was able to diagnose and he answered my questions to the point. Very knowledgeable and respectful, I am so happy I found The doctor for my beloved Tigress. Not to mention, the parking is literally right next to the clinic.
