Guys look, some people love this place, and there are plenty good reviews here. I would say you owe it to yourself to look around tho - also plenty of other vets in our area, many who are great. Yes, was a longstanding client here for many years across many furry family members and loved the place under prior leadership years ago. No, I will never come back.

One of the best veterinary practices in Northern Virginia! I adopted a cat from a rescue and had a coupon for a free exam from a VCA Animal Hospital within 2 weeks. I picked this location since it seemed a more convenient location for me. Dr. Linda Marchese is one of the most loving vets I have ever encountered and she just oozed sweetness and love for animals. You can tell she loves what she does and NOT as a business to earn profits. She listened to me and worked with me what is best for my new rescue cat. I took my new cat for her yearly exam yesterday and it was a wonderful experience. She does NOT upsell or pressure you for unnecessary stuff just to get more money from you. She simply recommends what is best for the pet and the owner. I wished I had known about her from the get go when I moved to Northern VA. Her prices are totally affordable and very reasonable when you do price comparisons with other vets in the area. I will be going to her from now on with any other pets I have or will have in the future. I highly recommend!

They showed unbelievable kindness and compassion when I was at my lowest and had to put down my best friend of 17 years. I will never forget the kindness from these strangers.

This place is awesome. Dr. Marchese took time to explain the results of our dog’s checkup and was very friendly. They also gave us a gift bag for first time patients. Highly recommend.

My dog absolutely loves coming to VCA Commonwealth Animal Hospital. We board her there and can tell they give her lots of love. When we arrive in the parking lot her whole body wags with excitement! Thank you for the excellent medical care and love you give our sweet girl.

Wonderful group of Doctors. Update May 2020 I continue to use Commonwealth Animal Hosp. You will not find a more caring or consciencious group as the group at Commonwealth. They truly care about your pet. Use their services and you will love them.

Friendly and capable staff, and honesty about the pricing and health plans they offered. Nothing even close to upselling. This place has a lot of good history and trust in the community.

They fit me into their schedule for and urgent care type visit- non emergency. The front was desk staff was fantastic the tech was extremely knowledgeable, and the vet was lovely and made sure I understood the diagnosis, and treatment plan with alternate plans should we need them. This isn't my regular vet but I will be taking all of my animals there from now on

I have a 13 yr old beagle and about 6 weeks ago she was very sick. She didn’t eat for five days and had been vomiting and had diarrhea. We went on a Monday afternoon and they said best case scenario is pancreatitis. The next day her labs came back and she had kidney disease. She stayed there for three days for fluids and observation and finally started to eat the second night! We decided to do the aggressive treatment for 4-6 weeks which involves multiple medications and sub q fluid injections. I am happy to report her levels came back normal last week! My baby is doing wonderful and we are on maintenance. The vets and staff were so attentive to us, as we went in twice a week for them to do the fluids. They answered all of our questions and I never felt they were trying to “sell” us on treating her. It was very touch and go the first few days and they were very supportive and told us to just take it day by day. We continue to do that and have gotten back our Victoria!!!

told the groomer i wanted my dog left kinda long. she completely shaved her, and completely ignored what i asked for

Have been coming here for years. The vets all know me and my 2 pups and 4 cats. Very personal. I ask a lot of questions because I am a nurse, read about diagnoses, how to treat, prepare for each appt. I have joined their VCA Care Club plan for my 2 senior dogs, 1 of my 4 cats. The staff is great!

We have been coming here for 20 + years. They staff are patient and extremely kind when we had to put down our dog from old age.They talked us through the whole process and gave us time to say goodbye. Never an easy process, but VCA helped us through it.

our dog became ill while we were traveling and clinic staff were wonderful. Spud is already feeling much better!

I brought my puppy Sasha in for her 1 year check up and it was as always, a great experience. Linda the manager, along with the front desk staff and technicians are always so kind and attentive. You can tell they love animals and my pup didn't even get when they gave her her shots and drew her blood. I highly recommend this for your pets! They are wonderful and I wouldn't go anywhere else!

I asked both cats and they said they liked it so you know it is a top-rated veterinarian. They're always nice to work with and polite, too.

Good people and energy here but prices have steadily crept up to where they are no longer a reasonable option...almost $400 & multiple trips to neuter a cat is a pain & high...

Doctors and techs are caring and helpful

Really bad service and a rundown facility. Went there a couple times and half the staff were not at all friendly or accommodating. I told the technician my dog didn't like something she was doing and she made fun of me for the rest of the visit and even continued on his followup appointment. That was when I decided never to go back. Drs. seem nice. Staff needs some serious customer service training. Building needs reinvestment.

I have been taking my dogs to VCA in Fairfax city since I moved into the area. They are extremely thorough as well as knowledgable. Their customer service from every employee has been amazing. My dogs are usually afraid of going to the vets but these guys spoil my dogs and my dogs get excited when I'm pulling into the parking lot. They genuinely love all animals and it shows! They have fit us into their hectic schedules when they were to busy to take on anymore customers. Today Dr. Newhart stayed beyond his shift to make sure that my dog was able to be seen and treated. You've got to appreciate a vet that is willing to put their own personal lives on hold, to help out in your pets time of need. The prices there are average but everything else is way beyond average. If you're searching for a reputable Vet for your pets, then this should be your first and last choice. A+

After 10+yrs, we are leaving. 2 large dogs w/health issues. Dr. Hunter was amazing but since VCA took over, the service has gone downhill. Exceptions: Janice & Christina & the Asian tech (forgot her name). A+++. Front Desk young blonde woman needs customer service training BIG TIME. Dr turnover is unacceptable. So much more…

We've taken our family pets to this wonderful vet team since mid 90's. Rocky (feline) 90's , Rico 90's (canine), Sunny (feline) 2006 and our currently new addition, Abby (canine). We've always been pleased with their professionalism and genuine care.

The group of people who work here are amazing. I have a dog who isn't dog friendly and they were pros when it came to handling him. I would highly recommend boarding with them and making them your primary vet.
