Montrose Pet Hotel Fairfax, Virginia

My dogs are very happy to go there. They always resist going into other boarding places, but trot right in at Montrose.

My daughter sends 2 of her dogs to daycare, twice a week and at least once a month she leaves them overnight several days. They get excellent care and come home very happy. Best place ever.

Very helpful with making reservations, they returned my call. Our dogs were well taken care of. We got a sort of report card when picking them up that had a pic of them playing & a few notes on how they did, really liked that extra customer service effort. Friendly drop off and pick up staff. I will definitely use them again in the future.

We had our dog stay over a long weekend and he had a great time.

To be honest, I chose this place because all other dog hotel alternatives were booked in my region of NW DC. Though far, it turned out to be the best decision I could have made for my dog's needs. Do not let the 4.1 rating fool you, because this is a 5 star operation. The staff are super helpful and very kind. The service options (grooming, medical care, etc.) are plentiful and I truly feel that my dog was pampered. They provided me with routine updates, pictures and let my dog roam free around their facility on numerous occasions so that she could get regular human engagement. They were also able to treat her ear infection and also treat her skin allergies in-house because the dog hotel is flanked by a full service veterinary hospital. At the end of the day the number one thing that they gave me was peace of mind and assurance that my dog was in loving hands. Montrose Pet Hotel is fantastic. The people who work here are awesome and treat your pets like royalty. The behavioral notes and pictures of fur babies when you pick up are adorable and very helpful. I highly recommend.

LOVE Montrose Pet Hotel! We boarded our greyhounds (read: high maintenance!) here in a double cabin. The care takers are so good with each animal - ours are big babies and they were handled with love and care into the kennel area. We received a printout detailing how their stay went along with a picture of each dog during play time. Play time is separate for each dog unless they are "siblings." Knowing that our favorite vet is now overseeing the Pet Hotel gives us peace of mind knowing our fur babies are getting the best care. Thank you Dr T!

Was upset that they didn't have any fixed rates for bath and services, and the guy upfront seemed uninterested. He was dragging my puppy to the back for a bath. I didn't want her strangled so picked her up and took her there. I miss our previous groomer and vet ????

Absolutely the best place to take care of my dog and the only place I trust completely. I have used their help on four different occasions over the last two years, my dog is always happy. Everyone I have met there is kind, friendly and patient, the place is always very clean. Communication has also been great: they never failed to send an email with a picture and reassure me that my dog was doing well. I very much appreciate the concern they showed when he got sick one day. We now use the vet in the same building - his experience has been priceless. Many thanks to all!!!

Wonderful experience with my dog KAP we were hesitant to take him to another boarding facility after a bad experience at centereville animal hospital but Andrew the office manger made us feel welcomed from the first call to when I checked him in to updated when we were away and a report card with a cute picture of him upon check out we look forward to bringing him to daycare and for KAP to feel like that is his second home when we are away for work/sports. Second time boarding my kitty. They are curtious, friendly, take great care of my aging kitty and clearly like what they do. Very clean facility too. Bonus- my veterinarian is right next door should medical help be needed. :)

kennel too small, too dark, and dirty

I've been trying for the past year to find a good dog kennel near my house and the search is complete. I was a bit nervous about using them because of their location--in a strip mall of a major road. I didn't think the dogs would get much exercise but that turned out to be a non-issue. The staff was super friendly and very courteous, and their prices are very reasonable for the Fairfax area. The only quasi negative thing I would say is that they said they would send a pic of my dog, but I never received. It really wasn't that big of a deal to me but I just like it when people say they'll do something and follow through. On the other hand, they washed the blanket we had dropped off with our dog so that made up for it, to me. I will definitely be using Best Friends Pet care again in the future.

When I went to Panama, I had to think about who would take care of Hagi while I was gone. The year before I asked my friend to do it, but I didn't find out til later that she was afraid of animals. I didn't want to impose on anyone else, so I decided to find a pet hotel. I was kind of weary because I didn't want anything bad happening to him. I went on Yelp and Yahoo! Local and found a rave review, so I decided to call. The attendant who answered the phone was really nice and informative. She made me feel at ease right away, so I decided to put a deposit down and check it out. When I headed over there, the lady behind the counter was just as nice. She gave me a tour of the area. I asked 100 questions, which I usually do when it comes to my kids and cat, and she answered all of them without thinking about it. When I dropped Hagi off, the attendant got him, reassured me, and told me that they would email me with a pic. The only thing I can critique is that the picture was kind of bad. It was out of focus and didn't really show him in his temporary environment. I picked him up, and he seemed fine. They gave me a report card on his days there. Will I use them again? Yes. Would I recommend them? Yes.
