This crew is THE BEST. Our pup is a 2 year old rescue who is very wary of strangers. We had one walker quit because he was herding her (nipping at her ankles). Kim's team came in and got to know our dog first, and took their time introducing new walkers into the schedule. They were patient, understanding and are extremely reliable. Their scheduling system is simple and easy to understand. Once fearful, our dog now looks forward to his daily walks with Kim's team!

A great place to board your small dog for a few days! Kim has six dogs herself and two cats, plus one or two borders at any time, and she lavishes love on them all. And they play with each other happily. Our dog, Kanzi, emerged happy and healthy and no doubt looking forward to going back again. Very highly recommended.

We left our deaf, shy 14 year old Havanese home while we vacationed. She had not been alone for any significant time since 3/2019, and we knew this would be hard on her. Amanda came to visit before our trip and Zoe kept her distance. Nevertheless, Amanda said they would be fine and off we went. Well....Zoe kept her distance for the whole time Amanda was there. BUT Amanda did not give up on her. When Zoe would not go upstairs to sleep at night, Amanda slept on the couch downstairs so Zoe would not be alone! Amanda sent us pictures and messages to let us know how things were going. While Amanda might NOT want to come back and stay with Zoe, we would LOVE for Amanda to do so next time we go out of town! In my opinion, Kim should clone Amanda!

Love love love my experience with them so far! I was super nervous at first because I just moved to the area and it is my first time moving along with my dog so my dog was having a hard time adjusting so I was worried how’d she would do with them when I wasn’t there. But the first day when they came I got a great report my Laila was just a little nervous because of the new face without her mama there but each walk she got more and more adjusted to her walker. I’m a nursing student so on Monday's I’m gone basically all day and Wednesdays I’m gone half the day. Sophie walks my dog for 2x on Monday for 15 minutes and one time on Wednesday and always sends me a short little message with how the walk went along with pictures of my dog during the walk. I love this because I know that she is being walked and I know she is okay so it gives me piece of mind while I’m gone. I also can see though the app where exactly they walk around my apartment complex. And it’s great because when I come home my dog is always in good spirits. I will continue to use their services while in nursing school and maybe even when I start working as nurse if I’m still in the area!

I started using this company in March, it was my first time using dog walking company. At first Kim gave me advice on my pup, greatful. But one thing I noticed was the constant changing of staff coming to my house, I thought it was because of college kids, so I didn't say anything, but I really needed the consistency of staffs. Then I noticed my rate went up without telling me I was very upset. Then my charges was never the same even though the day are the same. So I called and asked, she told me she will get back to me, never heard from her. Then in July, I called to canceled the service, she said she's sad to loose me as a customer, so I said I might use her again later. Just as I told her I canceled my service, there was a charge for $340. I called, she said it was a mistake and will refund it to me. I waited and waited and called, she told me she had mail the check, NOTHING. This is a lying and pathetic business owner. If she needs money then just say it, and I will donate it to her. But ripping me off on my hard earn money is sad. Karma will hit her. If anyone using her service please make sure you pay attention to your changes.

I would like to give this small business a good review, especially during these times, but I cannot. From the get go, I found them to be very unprofessional and irresponsible. My rating is based on the fact that a) I had to practically beg them to have a meet and greet before an upcoming trip so they could meet my pet, get my key and receive instructions, to b) forgetting to feed my pet one day and giving her necessary medications for her separation anxiety (seeing my pet at 10 pm on my home cameras pace and look distraught that she was not fed was heart breaking, to c) leaving the lock box on my door indefinitely despite repeated communication to remove it. It was so stressful and upsetting that we almost cut out trip short because of this neglect. Their lack of communication is very poor. For example, the owner was sick which was the reason my pet was not fed one day and the communication with her fill in fell through the cracks. I also find it very unprofessional that I nicely asked them on three separate occasions over the course of a month to take the lock box off my door and was ignored. I was lucky that I had a cutting tool to break it off or I would have been out another $60. I am sure that at one point before COVID maybe this business had more enthusiasm but I wanted to be sure that others know that there is a risk involved in using this business and that you may be better off going with a business that is more attentive and professional.

I have been using Kim’s services for dog walking and dog sitting. I am a nurse and have a new schedule each week. She and her staff are MORE than accommodating to my needs. I have a dog who isn’t the easiest to handle, and they take care of her with such grace as if she were their own. I can’t recommend enough!!! My Maggie and I truly appreciate everything she has done for us! If you are looking for a dog walker/sitter you can truly trust with your fur baby, you found them!!

We are very happy with the services Kim and her staff provide for our puppy! Kim is genuinely concerned for well being of our new baby (she has called and emailed to check him several times) and she is happy to work with our scheduling needs. Her staff is dependable and friendly (they send messages about their visits). We feel confident that our puppy is treated well and happy with his visitors. We would definitely recommend Kim's Urban Hounds.

Love Kim’s Urban Hounds! They have been wonderful with my dogs and my daughter’s cats. Andrew spent a long weekend with them all and he was fabulous! We got pictures and updates of the pets at least twice a day. It was so nice not to worry about my dogs. I could tell they were in really good hands!

I boarded my three pups with Kim for a week this summer while on vacation. I was nervous to leave them all for the very first time, but it all went very smooth. Kim provided updates multiple times per day, required extensive instructions prior to boarding, and introduced my fur babies to hers slowly. All the dogs got along great, and when we picked them up they slept for days. I will definitely use Kim’s services again. Thank you!

All of the above. We had a very nice experience with Kim’s Urban Hounds Dog walkers. They took such good care of our golden retriever Fabio. I was able to feel relaxed in leaving him in their care. They were very reliable and responsive his needs. We are very thankful.

After inconsistency of walkers and service concerns with our previous dog walking company we switched to Kim's Urban Hounds. One of my very particular neighbors with a spoiled, high maitenance pup, spoke very highly of Kim and her team. We have a 16 yr old Cocker Spaniel with special needs; he's essentially blind and deaf and is also quite arthritic. I called Kim and asked if she would take over walks for Brewster and in doing so have her team carry him up and down our townhomes' stairs, clean up after his accidents and change his doggie wrap as needed. We are so happy with Kim and her team! Kim had a very detailed intake form allowing us to document our expectations of service and care for Brewster. She reviewed the service details with me and she personally tours the home and trains all her walkers. We get emails and pictures after every visit and a call if any of the walkers notice anything of concern. Kim and her team have a soft spot for senior dogs. They genuinely seem to care about our boy! Kim and her team play an integral role in Brewster's quality of life and wellbeing as he navigates his senior years. This is a woman owned small business that I am very happy to promote!

Kim's Urban Hounds is literally a godsend! I board my elderly cat and after a below average experience with another boarder, my expectations were low. I was pleasantly surprised to see that Kim is the opposite. I'm amazed by the level of care/compassion/professionalism she and her team offer. It's obvious that Kim is genuinely an animal lover. She is very accommodating and responsive to my and my cat's needs. She's also knowledgeable and experienced in a lot of areas concerning pets...which gives me peace of mind in knowing my kitty is very well cared for. I also enjoy the impromptu pics/videos of what my cat is up to, feedback regarding my cat's mood or changes in her eating/drinking/potty patterns. I LOVE Kims urban hounds ! In the three years i’ve had my dog i have never taken him to a dog sitter because ive always had family to help, but my husband and i recently moved to Virginia and have no one. I looked, searched, read reviews of many different places but KUH stood out to me the most and it was the best decision i could have made for my furbabies. She is amazing! I was so nervous the first time dropping my dog off and she made me feel at ease, constantly sending me updates and pictures. My dog was so happy! Then we got a new puppy and i lost my job... we had a big trip coming up and was afraid i wasn't going to be able to afford the care i wanted for the both of them but Kim being so understanding and caring was willing to work with me and my current situation. She even gave my dogs toys to take home because they loved it so much and a leash for my new puppy. I cant express enough how much appreciation i have !
