Doctor was amazing and I was very happy she allowed my puppy to be seen at the last minute.

These folks have provided excellent medical care and boarding for my cats for 20+ years.

My dog was vomiting and had diarrhea. He was also not eating or drinking water. After taking him in to be seen at Jermantown Animal, he is eating and drinking water and his symptoms are gone. I also really appreciated the Doctor's respect for my financial situation and all of his recommendations which I am absolutely going to follow. I would definitely recommend him.

Jermantown animal hospital has been apart of my family for the past 16 years! Anne, Doc and the whole staff has loved her from the first day they met her as a 4 month old puppy. They were with me and my family until the very end. If you want a vet that cares for your dog/animal and treats them like family then Jermantown Animal Hospital is the place for you. Sadly, sunshine went to doggy heaven yesterday. Anne was there for me and held our families hand throughout the whole process. She got such great love and care from this vet. We will miss you guys at Jermantown, but will keep in touch.

On Feb/27/2020 my daughter and I along with Nunu (our 2 year old girl guinea pig) anxiously headed to Germantown Animal Hospital. There were three people working in the hospital. Ann the nurse, Dr. Metzger, and another gentleman who was the doctor’s assistant. They were all so wonderful and treated us so very nice. Dr. Metzger is very qualified and so experienced. He examined Nunu in detail and patiently answered all of our questions. Ann, the nurse of the clinic, was so sweet and the doctor’s assistant kept company and pet Nunu the entire time we were there. Which really helped our piggie calm her nerves while at the vet. They were all so sweet and gentle with our piggie, which was unfortunately something we haven’t experienced with other animal hospitals/vets. Even though, they were closing at 7:00 PM, they extended extra time just to answer our questions, and for that we are extremely grateful beyond words. I am so happy and delighted to have found them and I already recommended them to two of my friends.

Always sweet and informative. As a new parent to my kitten the Doc keeps me on my toes to make sure she is safe. It's his, Ann's and Jerry's number one goal Keep animals safe!! Love it

Amazing staff and Dr. Metzger takes amazing care if the animals. He also takes time to explain options so you can make a fully informed decision.

All right… Anne, The manager, is the reason we are there. She loves my dog like she loves her own. My dog is frequently boarded due to working weekends, and she is treated like family to them. The veterinarian is always really nice as well, but the one that lets you know that your pet is loved is Anne. Services have always been explained to us in advance, and they’ve always given us a good understanding of the benefit of optional services. Prices are very fair for the area.

Tough call, small vet, more personable than some places. However, felt there were too many unnecessary services and medicines recommended considering our dog was end of life. We had to put him down, and they did handle it with sensitivity and care.

please read this if you are considering visiting this vet. after having an incredible vet in my home town in New York, my experience with this vet has forever made me cynical and distrusting of any animal service provider as a simple dental cleaning ended up causing my dog to be euthanized a few days later. He charged me $950 for what was supposed to be a simple teeth cleaning and added a crazy amount of tests and exams that I did not sign up for. You can find my review on Yelp for the full story. PRO TIP: Require this business to provide a bill or invoice of ALL services before committing to any work done and do not authorize them to do any additional services without your authorization. Pay with a credit card in case they try to bamboozle you so you can do a charge back.

Although the doctor was very knowledgeable, he was rude and unforgiving when I referred to flea medicine as a skin medicine. I realize that my answer was not accurate, but he didn’t have to be so rude to me. He didn’t need to repeat it over and over again. He knew he upset me and he continued to talk about it. I would never treat someone that way. He treated my dog with more kindness than he treated me.

Dr. Mertzger is a caring, intelligent veterinarian who truly takes care of the pet, and not of the owner. The staff is kind, caring, and professional. No up-billing, very reasonable fees, and no unnecessary procedures or stays. Questions are answered accurately and respectfully. I can't recommend the place more honestly.
