Bermuda Hundred Animal Hospital Chester, Virginia

I had puppies delivered at this location. There’s no longer a doubt in my mind this office stole my English Bulldog puppies, showed me an old deceased puppie from my last litter and said only one made it. Karma is something else Crooks!

We were potentially new customers (new family to the area). We arrived five minutes early to our appt and had to wait 20 min. outside. I finally called (couldn’t go inside, according to their sign, though i saw multiple people coming in and out) & asked how much longer. Was told they had emergencies and we had to continue waiting, about another 20 min at least. We showed up on time out of respect for their time, would have appreciated the same respect for our time as well. A heads up in advance that they were running behind so we knew that we’d be waiting or to reschedule would have taken no time on their part. The girl was very unapologetic and didn’t seem to care a bit that they were losing a customer so we’ll move on.

don’t recommend to anyone, managers beyond rude and only cares about the money. do not go here.

Charge me 250$ for less than 10 minutes of oxygen for my cat to die. Couldn’t tell me the cause of death and very disrespectful to my mother and sister who brought my baby in. And on top of it CUT MY CATS HEAD OFF, bc the lady got scratched when my cat was dying from suffocation and scared she has rabies. Beyond unprofessional. I cannot believe this is how they treat me and my family in a time of losing my baby. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. NEVER.

My only negative is the "exam" charge they do charge you every time you bring your pet in. I went in for yearly exam and vaccines. Charged for that exam. Reasonable. Brought my dog in a few months later and was charged again for an exam. That's a little much.

Everyone is so friendly and great with all my pets. They are honest and never go over board on tests like some places. They treat yor pets like their own. I highly rerecomme them.

I can't imagine taking my pets anywhere else. The staff has always been wonderful and caring to both me and my dogs.

We have had the pleasure of going here for the past few years and have brought our cats and dog in for everything from grooming to major surgery and I highly recommend them. Im not a review kind of guy but I feel like I should because of how great they are. Dr. Burkey makes you feel comfortable and walks you through what's going on with your pets clearly and always keeps us informed of our options and best course of treatments when needed and will go above and beyond to help. We have 100% confidence in Bermuda Hundred whether it's just getting boosters and checkups, surgeries, or anything else during your animal's life. Five stars easily.

This place is absolutely AMAZING, the staff is wonderful, I had to do the unthinkable for my dog because he was so sick, but they are so wonderful and caring. I HIGHLY recommend this place I will definitely bring my other dogs here. The doctor was amazing and so caring!!

They saved my fur babys life and I'm so thankful for them. All of the staff is super nice and caring! They made me feel comfortable and my dog, they also remembered us when we came in and complimented him. I will reccomend them to everyone! He also healed amazingly and had no scaring. I posted some pictures of him after surgery and then within a week with his stitches and about two weeks later healed.

Dr. Burkey is caring and compassionate to his patients. He is always willing to answer any questions I have. He cared for my heart dog until his time came to cross the rainbow bridge. I adopted a dog from the SPCA 2 years ago and he now cares for her. The staff is friendly and really care about your pets and it shows in how they treat them. I highly recommend this veterinarian practice.

I couldn't imagine having our rescue dog without this place! They are always so helpful, educational and kind.

They say they offer emergency services and open at 7:30 am. This is true they do open at 7:30 but there is not doctor until 9:30 I don't understand how this is emergency service.

My pets have been coming here for years.. Love all the staff.. They are always friendly and helpful.. My grown children bring their pets here as well.. Dr Burkey saved the life of my cat Mont, several years ago.. They have earned my loyalty.. I will never go anywhere else..

Have been going there for seven years now and have never had a bad experience. Dr. Burkey and his staff truly care for animals and show it in the way they treat and respect them. When I called with a question about my pet's health, Dr. Burkey would return my call by the end of the day and answer all my questions.

My cat is in pain and in distress, but this animal hospital refuses to treat her unless all vaccines are done FIRST. Note they expired less than 3 weeks ago. How can you say you care for animals when you will turn away one in pain, simply because you cant make your money.

My dog is elliptic and needs medication to manage her seizures. Every time I called for a refill I was told I needed to being my dog in for all these tests. I was even told once that she needed a heart worm test before it could be refilled. When I addressed this with the Vet, he was very rude and disrespectful and told me "maybe I should just find a new vet". And that is exactly what I did. I think it is ridiculous that they hold refills over your head unless you get every test under the sun. It is just a way for them to make money off of sick animals. Very sad!

This place is horrible, the kennels where they kept my dog were nasty and their was mold on the ceiling , the cages were rusted. The entire place was run down, if you are planning to keep your pet there please go look in the back where they will be keeping your pup. This by far is the worst vet office I have ever been to. Dr. Burkey was very rude and it was obvious he didn't care about my dog and just wanted my money. Won't ever be taking my babies back here again.

The staff is sweet as can be and they really seem to care about the animals they see. They were very kind in accommodating an emergency situation during operating business hours. However Dr. Burkey is rude and I don't trust his medical opinion, at least not with my pet's condition. Same with the fill in vet I've seen in his place. They overlooked his diagnosis and wanted to test and treat for everything under the sun. I'm most fortunate to have been referred to VRCC who got to the bottom of it all and provided concrete solutions.

They are very nice. They have taken care of our pets for quite some time now and have no complaint. I find them very professional and knowledgeable. My experience and my family's experience has been great. We will soon be adding two new members to the family and they will be our place of choice. Thanks for putting your heart into your job Doc.

Dr. Burkey, his wife, and the staff here saved our Bubba's life when he had gall bladder problems. It's a long story, but suffice it to say they love our dogs as much as we do, and they all went more than the extra mile to help us! We have been going to them since he had his office in Chester, at least 20 years, and happily drive the 45 minutes to stay with them. THANKS TO ALL OF YOU!!!

Love this practice! Same staff after 7 years (that is only since I moved here, they may have been there even longer) says something special. They care and they are so sweet to my animals. I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else. Love these guys and they love my pets!

They made sure every single question I had was answered, and are always available if I think of any more questions I want answered. Their staff is the most friendly, welcoming staff I've ever dealt with. They are so warm and professional, and make the whole experience that much better. I was so impressed with the progress I was able to make after visiting them. All my questions were answered, and I feel a lot more confident and hopeful about the future.

We are new to the area and decided on this place in spite of a couple bad reviews and I have to say I was very happy with the service I received. They got my cat an appointment in a timely manner and was in and out in no time. Then a week later we boarded our cat with them when we went on vacation, and still happy. Will continue to use their services. Thank You!

Long wait at the front desk only to find they will only service animals with up to date shots. Not where you want to go if looking for alternative hollistic care or if your time is valuable.
