Brought my dogs in for preventative care and an eye irritation on the other. Was quoted an amount and at time of pick up the bill was about 120% more of the quoted cost. Lady at counter was nice but unfortunately blamed the Vet for not being upfront with costs. Very professional to mis lead loyal customers.

Doctors here are great but administrative staff need some help. The minute you have an issue or challenge them in any way, the attitudes come out. Not to mention that if you attempt to order pet meds online, they will ignore the MULTIPLE fax requests for prescription verification and then when you call to ask why they lie and say they never got them. I'm so over this place. Need to find a difference vet office.

My Dog had appt on Dec 6, follow up vaccines and blood test, on Pick up service...To be honest I only wait for my Dog to be done no more than 8 mts... So.. How the drop off works compare to pick up?..Do they have more time or patience with the Doggies?....After 2 days my Dog was kind of uncomfortable when i was peddling her on her neck, later in that week she didn't wanted to be touched in that area.... my surprise today, i didn't know what happened in the area where they took a blood test sample . Its in the area by the chest close to her neck a big Bruce on it... i took her to the same place where i always take at the Chantilly location, in the beginning they didn't want to give me an appt same day , right after they said its not bc of her annual follow up examen, on top of that they charged me as an emergency..... long story short.... my little dog has a big bruce bc of the blood test....Its that a normal thing that it happened with all doggies?...of course they move, but the nurses are alone ?

Staff is not super friendly, seem to always run late despite appointments. The doctor was extremely short and didn't seem to have time for questions. Did not like not going back with my dog.

Horrible customer service. I had a sick dog, wanted a fecal sample done. Couldn’t do that, they had to see the dog. Asked if I brought him in they would see him? No, next appt weeks out. My dog is throwing up his food, can’t wait. Even though sign, behind the desk states, “sick and injured dogs seen first”. I called around to other Banfield’s and finally got a next day appt. I got more assistance from the other Banfield’s I called than I did from this one. I’m also Optimum Wellness Member, I won’t be renewing my membership. Find a local private vet or another Banfield. This one is horrible.

This is the worst Banfield I have had to use. I have been using beanfields for ~9 years. and after moving from sterling Banfield to this one I noticed a completely different experience and level of care.

You will lose your faith in customer service if you go to this location! But, please don't lose your faith! Banfield in general isn't bad... just go to different location! We have gone through many appoints at this and other locations before this conclusion. Hope this helps!

Absolutely the best Banfield location I have ever been to. The Vet was fantastic and took the time to speak with me and the front office staff was great. Highly reccomend going to this location.

One of the worst vet clinics I have ever been in!!!! From the doctors to the staff, they are just rude and unprofessional! I am just appalled at how they allow themselves to speak to their clients, the office manager has no control over the office at all! First time client and the doctor is not willing to come outside to tell me the details of my pet appointment! They made me feel like I was a burden on them and none of them really wanted to help! Was given wrong prescription, pharmacist was shocked at how unprofessional this practice was, had to call four times to get the correct dosage for one med and still waiting for the other meds! This business needs to replace every employee because they all hate their jobs including the doctors!!!

I don't know what has happened in the last 6 months, but customer services has gone out through the window. During the week a called and asked if I need an appt for my dog bc he is under the care of a specialist and he requested to do a urine test after they did a blood test bc one of my dog's kidneys is showing some numbers a little high. The lady I spoke over the phone stated to just bring the sample and will do the test. When I get there, I tried to explained why I am there and the front desk, Denise, looks at me like I'm crazy. First of all, she didn't even listen to what I was trying to explained. Second, every time I'm talking, she cuts me off and starts raising her voice. Does she really thinks bc she is louder, she is right? Third, I don't know from where she came up with "If you need medications, you need to see the doctor first" I NEVER mention anything about meds. Makes me think she is junky and she is only there to get close to any controlled substances because she doesn't have one ounce of Customer Service in her body. I decided I am not going to lower myself to her level so I asked for the manager and she said she is not in till Tuesday. Apparently, that's the story the front desk keeps on coming up every time something like this happens. Just look at the other reviews. We all agree that they are rude, cranky and aggressive. This girl, Denise, look ready to jump me so asked for any other person to come and help me bc there was no point on wasting my time when she didn't even heard a word a said since the beginning and even then she kept talking and going back and forth arguing. The BAD attitude she has are coming out through her eyes and her head movement. Right at this moment, I ask to her co-workers, If you love what you do and really care for the animals, do you really think she is a good fit for this place?? I drive like 20 -25 min to come to this banfield bc the doctors and the technician have been amazing, and up to this point customer services was great, even with previous front desks ladies. I don't need corporate apologizing for my bad experience, or asking me to emailing them about this. What we (the customers) need is a change on this HORRIBLE customer service we have been receiving lately.

Please save your time and do not go here. This is our experience: we came in on time for our appointment yet we waited for a while to check in yet suddenly another woman showed up with their dog, skipped the line and got checked in first. The two people at the front desk were super rude, grumpy and cranky that day. Instead of pausing to acknowledge us or give us a simple explanation why the other woman who came in later got to checked in first, they totally ignored us. When we brought up the concern, they immediately dismissed us instead of simply apologizing for the mistake or giving us an explanation. One of them was so defensive and rude. While waiting, I overheard another front desk person spoke on the phone with other customers in a very rude tone. The experience was beyond horrendous. Please do not go here. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

I was NOT happy here with their customer service. HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. We came on time and waited in the lobby for our appointment because the front desk staff were busy checking in other people. Finally it should have been our turn but another customer suddenly rushed in and somehow got checked in first. We got up immediately seeing that and told the front desk we had been here first and had been waiting. Instead of acknowledging their mistake or simply explaining to us the situation (Like the other dog had an emergency, we would have been understanding), but NO, they were rude, dismissive and gave us attitude. They didn’t acknowledge what we told them and continue to ignore us and checked the other woman in. Finally we got to checked in and we brought up the issue again. They maintained their crankiness and attitude. They even went and said “If you’re not happy here, you’re welcome to cancel your appointment”. I was very disappointed how they handled the situation. An acknowledgment of a simple mistake would have been sufficient. It was not a pleasant experience at all, especially it was an early morning. I strongly recommend you go somewhere else. Why spend your money to be mistreated here. They said they’re pet friendly and passionate of what they do, but their action and attitude proved it otherwise.

Terrible experience???????????????????????????????????????????? We encountered some rude customer service today with the front desk staff. Here are what had happened. We arrived for our appointment on time and waited for a while just to be checked in. While waiting, suddenly another customer showed up and headed straight for the front desk and got checked in. We stood up right away and told the front desk staff that it was our turn and we had waited for a while. Instead of pausing and explaining to us why the other woman got to checked in first or apologize]ing for the mistake, they was dismissive and completely ignored us. The attitude was rude. They appeared very very grumpy as well. When they finally checked us in after checking in that woman, we brought it up again the concern just to clear the air or any misunderstanding, instead of being nice about it, they spent good amount of time arguing back and forth with us. I asked to speak to a manager. They simply said the manager was not in and there was no email that I could reach the manager directly. They said to leave a message with them (I doubt they will pass the message along the way). They also added, If you are not happy here, you’re welcome to cancel the appointment. Wow, just wow. So, my conclusion is, please don’t go here. They were so rude. We just wanted to raise a simple concern that could have been resolved in a more peaceful manner but it was a huge disappointment given i was there for the first time.

No, save your money, time and energy and go somewhere else????????????????????????The front desk staff spent 10 minutes arguing with us. Here are the facts: we came in on time for our appointment and we waited for some time to be checked in. Out of nowhere, another woman showed up and came straight to the front desk and got checked in. We stood up immediately and told them that we had an appointment and we were here first waiting for a while. However, instead of calmly addressing the issue, explaining to us or apologizing for the mistake, they ignored us, dismissed us. We brought it up again when they finally checked us in, the dismissed our concern again and spent good 10 minutes arguing that they did nothing wrong. Both staff at the front were rude, cranky and offered bad customer service. When we wanted to talk to the manager, they said the manager was not there. All I could do is to leave a message with them (like they are gonna pass a complaint along to their manager). Highly highly disappointed. One of them said “If you’re not happy here, you’re more than welcome to cancel your appointment”. Like wow ???? so rude. Please don’t make an appointment with them. You will be disappointed.

I haven’t been able to get an appointment or walk in appointment for my dog who has a cysts infection on her side. I called around Banfield yesterday and South Riding Banfield was accommodating. The staff offered a walk in and drop off at 7am today. Drop off my dog at 7am and the staff who checked her was great and explained the preliminary procedure they were going to do and the cost upfront. I received a phone call from doctor less than two hours and explained what is going on and the treatment plan for my dog and will ready for pick up. Kudos to the staff of Banfield at South Riding. Got a thorough explanation on the medication my dog was prescribed and even cut the pills to the correct dose so I didn’t have to do it. Thank you so much for the outstanding customer service experience.

I started my wellness plan at banfield with my puppy in February. It’s been a instant regret since day 1. When you take your dog in they show no sort of affection for the puppy. They missed 3 vaccinations which he should of had the first time around. My puppy got sick and we had taken him to banfield with a few concerns they told us it might be allergies and sent us on the way a few days later we had to take him to the emergency vet because we can not trust banfield. We took him in and the doctor asked for his shot records which I provided. The doctor was surprised to see that my 4 month old puppy had not received his bordetella and influenza vaccines yet. He stated that those were one of the first shots that should have been received. We signed a agreement for a wellness plan thinking banfield would be great for us. They will not cancel our plan unless we pay in full which is about $600 for services that we will never use again. I do not recommend going to banfield to anyone. Needless to say we will be getting in contact with the corporate office and filing a complaint with the bbb. I’m sure you’ve heard the saying you get what you pay for. Banfield is cheaper than other vets and there is a reason why. Pay the extra money and take your pet somewhere else!

I will never go to them again. They gave my dog two shots he already had. Daniel neglected to do his job by reading his previous record. They then tried to make excuses that the shots weren’t valid when they got them a month ago and last a year. They charged us over 200$ without our consent. It took them a week and a half to get someone to respond. We had to call them everyday and each day they said the manager was not in. Not only that my dog was having problems after his castration to the point where he could have died and they only said they have an appointment in 4 days. Do not go to them. Not worth the time, money, or stress. The account is under my husbands name and they wouldn’t even let us add me to the account so they will probably dismiss this and say we are not customers. Unreliable, unresponsive and not trustworthy. Do not trust your dog with them.

*update after speaking with Jessica from their management team in Banfield’s corporate office: “veterinary care is not free” she told me in a very patronizing tone and that she was sorry for my loss. Well I never asked for free care and having been a long time customer I find that extremely insulting. She decided to refund me half of the $335 today but not all as “veterinary care is not free”. Interesting I had been paying right around $200 a month for 4 plans plus paying every time one of my pets went in for whatever the plans called for like checkups and shots. Please read below for the back history as I tried to resolve this and keep my 3 other cats on their plans but after the fourth time speaking to the corporate office I will not be “renewing” their plans. I had 4 pets signed up for the Banfield plans. Unfortunately my oldest had to be put to sleep last month. We were told to contact the corporate number to cancel. This is when we found out that even though my pet is dead we are responsible to pay the remaining balance of their "discount plan" because my pets policy would not renew until sometime in 2021. So their plans are completely misleading but I am sure it is in the "fine print". They do give you a "discount" of around $100 (2 months) because your beloved pet is now dead as a "we're sorry but you still owe $771.67 of the remaining monthly payments until the policy renews." It is not a monthly plan it is an annual contract that even if your pet dies, YOU are responsible for paying them the rest for services that you will no longer receive. *Here is an update to the payment they require you to make- they did allow us to pay $335 at their discount “we’re sorry your pet is dead rate” this is because we had already paid into the “owed $771.67” then they “discounted” 2 payments so my remaining balance of $335 was due for “cancelling early” as my pet had to be euthanized at banfield. and I have attached their reasoning: **When we cancel a wellness plan before the end of the current plan year, there are two options to choose from. Clients are able to pay for the services used or the wellness plan, whichever is less. Please see the cancellation amounts below: Services used = $995.47 Installments paid to date = $223.80 Remaining balance for services = $771.67 Remaining wellness plan payments = $447.60 As a courtesy, we waived two of the eight remaining payments due to your pet passing away. The remaining balance to cancel is now $335.70.**

My father recently called to schedule an appointment and the desk person called him "ma'am." Maybe it was a slip of language, maybe his masculine voice wasn't enough. As a trans person heavily rejected by him, the past few years has nothing on that ethereal experience. The disappointment and disbelief in his voice was easily the highlight of knowing him. Damn hilarious, priceless, I know I will remember this for the rest of my life.

I understand that the Covid drop off policy is different now, and with a 9 week old extremely shy puppy I was extremely uncomfortable, but I understand. The first red flag I got was how uninterested the staff seemed to be in my dog, they barely noticed us when we walked in and it took awhile to even get checked in. I had already filled out the information online and on the paperwork that was provided, yet the front desk still called her a male, asked if she was neutered and then assumed her breed, in which she was wrong. After she went back, I asked the tech how long this new pet exam, de-worming and a fecal exam, would be and he told me around 3 hours, which is crazy. I used to work in a vet office, there is no reason it should be that long in the first place. After 4.5 hours, and no call, I decide to call and was put on hold for over 15 minutes. I hung up, and called back 10 min later and got put on hold again. After finally talking to someone she informs me that the vet wants to give her the next round of shots and is advising they do a deworming. I was irritated because I had already requested her deworming, wondered why it was not done and why no one had called me sooner about the vaccinations. She advised that they were overbooked and seeing a lot of sick pets. I was not a walk in client, I had an appointment for over a week in which they had rescheduled once already. If they did not have time for new pets, they should not have taken the appointment, just like in a doctors office. She then told me Ollie would be done very soon and would personally call me back. We decided we didn't want her to wait any longer than needed so we drove up and waited for this call in the parking lot. We waited another hour, and with no call went inside to get our pet. She STILL had not been seen by the vet for the services talked about on the phone so we waited another 20 minutes in which I am assuming they rushed in order to get her out to us. It is absolutely ridiculous that we had to do all of the communicating on our part, and the utter lack of compassion for their pets that come in is horrible. Anyone who works with animals should love and feel for them, they are living things, not products. In the end they didn't even address the concerns I had about the bites on her stomach, or give any sort of flea and tick recommendations in which I requested on the paperwork. Her information was also incorrect on the sheet they gave us when we requested her records. I am usually extremely patient, but there was no part of this experience that was pleasant or understandable. I will NEVER go to Banfield again.
