Jamie Bean is the best! She is always so amazing with my two dogs, they adore her. Lesa, at reception, was so accommodating to what I felt was an emergency visit (turns out I’m just a paranoid dog mom). She was very patient with me and really tried to understand what was going on before I came in. I am so grateful for the whole staff though! You guys are truly amazing. And I know it’s a rough time to be in ANY kind customer facing occupation. Thank you for risking getting sick EVERY SINGLE DAY to care for all our animals! You are greatly appreciated by this devoted (some times crazy) customer. Thank you thank you all!

Been taking my dog here since he was a puppy. He just turned 5. They have always been awesome to work with and extremely friendly. I moved 45 minutes away and still make the commute when necessary.

Had an issue with my dog and they were able to get me in within 3 days with a booked schedule. The Vet also called me at home after the appointment to follow up on some information about my dog that we had touched on during the visit. Very thorough and caring.

Great veterinarians and they are always good with my dog. Their prices are reasonable too. My vet is Dr. Orme and she's knowledgeable and always willing to spend as much time with me as needed to address my concerns.

I've been to a few VCA hospitals before switching to Hillside. I am happy that I made the switch since the service is so much better and the staff obviously cares much more.

I have a 16 year old minature poodle and he is having old age problems. They are so kind a helpful with suggestions and ways to care for him. When I lost it and started to cry in their office they were so understanding and it really helped. I am so glad that I have such a good team helping me with my baby!

We love Hillside and have been coming here for years. My last vet visit with Dr. Bean was awesome. All my questions were answered and then some. The staff are always so nice and remember us and our animals every visit. It is so relieving to have a vet that we feel we can trust and that take their time to give the critters care they deserve.

We’ve been going to Hillside Vet for over four years now, and always had great experiences, but our experience today was so wonderful I had to write about it! When we got there, every member of the front desk staff took turns coming out to give our dog pats, which he ADORED. During the vet appointment, Dr. Bean let my toddler daughter use her stethoscope on our dog and carry it around. As always, Dr. Bean (and the assistant!) were engaging, kind, and responsive. At the end, when I was struggling with a large dog, toddler, and trying to get out my wallet, my daughter started crying. One staff member immediately came over to hold my dog while two others offered my daughter candy and a paper crane (after checking with me!) This is all on top of the typical professionalism and care that is standard. Overall, it counted as a fun outing for my daughter who had a blast and learned things.

I love Hillside Veterinary. Everyone there is wonderful and I feel confident taking my precious boy to them. Dr. Esdorn is great and always takes Romeo's fear and anxiety into consideration. I don't trust anyone to take good care of my baby boy but I do trust them.

I have been going to this vet for three years, so I figured it was time for me to write a review. I have seen Dr. Bartholomew and Dr. Esdorn. I was unfortunate to receive a bit of a lemon dog, and since I brought him home at eight weeks, he has been a mess. My first vet dismissed my concerns, so I switched to Hillside. Dr. Bartholomew worked hard to help me find a solution to his chronic tummy issues. She is kind, communicative, and great to work with. She would mention things she learned in continuing ed type classes, which is a great sign (keeping up on new science and utilizing it in practice!). Dr. Esdorn started taking over my dog's care when he went in for a UTI and she realized something was up with his kidneys. She devised a strategy to test his kidneys, and we found out he is in kidney failure. Since then, she has helped me figure out what to feed him, what his care should look like, and how we need to move forward with testing and treatment. Dr. Esdorn is gentle with my dogs, caring, and always answers my questions. She also understands that because my dog is a sensitive breed that I am always worried about how treatment will affect him and takes this into account when explaining treatments and reassuring me. Now, my dog - who at one point looked like he was feral because he was so emaciated and unhealthy - is a best of breed winning, trial winning sporting dog (attached is a photo of him in action, after Dr. Esdorn helped me get him back into trialing shape). I am very impressed with the level of care my dog has received. Dr. Esdorn has treated my other two dogs as well, who are much lower maintenance, and is always thorough and helpful. I am already sad that I will have to leave this clinic when I go away to grad school, and am trying to devise a plan to keep my dog's care in this clinic despite being states away. I would also like to give a huge shoutout to the front desk staff and techs. They are amazing! They are communicative, helpful, and love the dogs. They have worked hard to get me in when my especially sickly dog needs urgent care. They know my dog by name and always celebrate health wins with me. When my dog was neutered, they were kind and patient with him despite him spending the day screaming in his kennel. You could not find a better team of people to help treat your dogs.

When you can get an appointment I love Dr. Bean she's great with my cat. However I am changing to a different clinic. I have had two emergencies with my cat in the last 3 months and have been referred to a 24 emergency vet instead. Clinics should be able to take emergencies, there is no excuse for this as I've worked for one in the past. On top of that when I wanted to schedule a follow up visit for my cat it was over a month out.

When you can get an appointment, the vets and staff are great. However, they ONLY take appointments for well check-ups. It is beyond frustrating. You can NEVER get in when something is wrong with your pet.

I highly recommend this place for all my dog needs. Friendly and professional staff. Talented doctors who care about animals and take pride in their profession. One of the best in the Salt Lake City metro area.

After a frightening trip to the MedVet ER, I learned that my sweet English Bulldog, Banksy, needed surgery. My veterinarian recommended Hillside Veterinary Hospital and Granite Veterinary Specialists. I went for a consultation and to set up the procedure. That is when I met Dr Becker. He is Board Certified and specializes in soft tissue surgeries. I immediately felt comfortable talking to him. He is smart, honest, and relatable. The office staff was amazing as well. The process to schedule surgery was well coordinated and uncomplicated. My Banksy had a very successful procedure and was discharged home with me the following day. They took amazing care of my boy. The cost was amazingly reasonable. I hope we don’t have to return, but if anything were to happen, I would have complete confidence in bringing my dog back, or recommending his practice to anyone.

Dr. Esdorn, Was honestly extremely helpful, was my first time there and I was recommended by a friend. I can say it was worth going there even tho it’s a 20 min drive for me from salt lake. Happy so far with the service that was given and the fees back from the doc. She answered all my questions, comments, and concerns with out skipping a beat. Highly recommend this place to anyone seeking good doctors for your furry loved one.

Great vet. Have gotten me in quick with an emergency even though they are always booked solid. Sometimes it is a while before you can get in but not surprising because they are so good they have a lot of people and fur babies to take care of and always take their time to be thorough. Worth the wait.

Hillside is the BEST! Dr. Bean is incredible. Knowledgeable, compassionate and kind. As are the staff. I have a 12 year old mini schnauzer who has health issues. Dr. Bean has been so caring and helpful through the entire process. The staff is always so caring and compassionate. I wouldn't be able to go through all this without their incredible love and support.

We had to put our dog down this week. The Hillside Veterinary Hospital handled her with respect, calm, dignity and compassion. The process, which is stressful at best, was handled so well that I would recommend them for anyone needing veterinary assistance.
