worst animal shelter ever. I definetly recommend NOT going there. I tried to adopt a puppy and they said that in order to do that I have to bring my dog in . News flash I dont have a dog! and of course they didnt belive me so they wouldnt let me get it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Caregivers were very nice. Thank you for your help in licensing my dog. If anyone is interested they have alot of animals in need of rescue. ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

My husband and I found a lost cat. We went to the shelter so that she could find her family. My husband was told that even though we found her across the street from the shelter that it was out of their jurisdiction. The lady then had security follow him out. My husband was not belligerent nor was he upset. I believe that my husband was racially profiled against. It was a white woman with short brown hair. When we went to where we were told to go, the worker told us that we were lied to and that our apartment complex, (where we found the cat) is apart of their jurisdiction. I just want this kitty to find her family. I'm honestly disgusted with how my husband was treated, and the lack of caring towards an animal needing a home

Staff was nice! Appointment is needed for visit. They accept animal food donations.

Super good experience both with the tech Alice who showed us the cats, to the delightful officer who handled the paperwork. Highly recommend adopting and from this facility!

If there were lest stars I would put them they work to fast seem to hate their jobs. They need to slow down. Also think that just because people want to see dog doesn't mean there going to adopt so why have them fill out the paperwork before you even see the dog.

I waited all day long since 11am this morning until night for them to pick up a dog from me that i found outside freezing in the snow and ice. I called a couple times throughout the day and they reassured me it would be picked up soon each time and to stay in the comfort of my own home. They never came and tomorrow is sunday and theyre closed.

They were so helpful when we found this stray cat. My wife took him in to be scanned and asked if she could take him home while he was on a stray hold. They let her foster him. When his stray hold was up, they reached out to my wife and I first to see if we wanted him. Now, thanks to them, Tigger is part of our furry family.

Very professional staff. They took in three kitts and promised to look out for them. Also, they're going to TNR five cats living out back at Sunrise Metro.

I scheduled an appointment for my puppy to be fixed almost a month ago, got a call a week after scheduling because they had to close for the week, alright no issue I get things happen. Well my appointment was yesterday at 7:45 am, I show up at 7:35 and wait until 8 am trying to get ahold of someone, calling and calling, even went and knocked on the door, but nothing. Pretty upset when I had to gather up all my kids and push back my start time for work just to be able to make the appointment in time for it never to even happen.

Petpalooza was a double success for our family! We fell in love with these adorable babies and the shelter also gave brought our puppy to us last year! I love THIS place!

They refused their services even thou I live a 1\4 of a mile away. They claim not having jurisdiction over the Taylorsvile area. I was taking a cat into their facility. Was decline. The WEST VALLEY ANIMAL SHELTER IS NOT TAKING ANY FOUND CATS. THE OFFICER AT THE DOOR 511 W 3900 S Suggested TO LET THE CAT GO. THAT WAS ONE OF THREE ! SO THE CATS ARE OUT N ABOUT THE HOOD CUZ THEIR HOOD CATS.

Great place. Extremely professional. If you need a voucher, take the time to go through the process to get one, it's worth it. These folks here are great and easy to work with.

I called because I found a skunk who had been trapped and his leg was infested with maggots. I was told they help euthanize animals who are in distress. They would not come help so I had to watch the poor thing suffer to death. Absolutely no help at all.

We started looking for a cat and came to salt lake county animal services. Making an appointment was easy, the staff were super kind and answered questions we had about each cat/kitten to the best of their knowledge. They were also patient with our daughter. We were able to adopt a sweet kitten. The process was quick as well!

Adopted two kittens, the staff was so helpful giving me great advice on how to care for my new family.

I reached to this group with help with farrow cats. Officer Jones was extremely professional and most helpful with needed requirements to resolve the problem and the best way to capture the cats. Once captured officer Veraja came out in a timely manner and handled the animals with care. Appreciate the timely and professional manner exhibited by this organization.

Officer Porter is on a power trip! She needs to be investigated. She took my boyfriend's dog because she has arthritis & threatened him with prosecution if he didn't put her down! My boyfriend is a human arthritis doctor! He knows what he's doing! After 2 wks without our girl, the vet at Animal Control agreed that she was fine, but not after almost $1,000 in fees & fines! PLUS. while they were at his house they took my 21-YEAR-OLD cat who is of course thin due to loss of muscle mass!! He's very healthy for an old guy. I eventually got my cat back, but only after Officer Porter accused me of neglect because he's so skinny. Instead, I should be answering questions like: "How were you able to keep this cat this healthy, for this long?" I am a certified Canine care specialist, and a certified feline care specialist, & a certified Animal Care facility owner (knowledge assessed). I know what I'm doing! Officer Porter is neither vet, nor vet tech, & has no certifications, but believes she knows more than the experts. She has repeatedly overstepped the bounds of acceptable behavior. Officer Porter needs to go!
