We went in to adopt a dog (Freddie) a few weeks ago. Before we left, my daughter was showing signs of allergies. The staff expressed concern right from the start and were hesitant to let us go home with an animal my daughter was allergic to. Since we had dogs before we figured it was the cats and went ahead and took Freddie home. After a couple days my daughter was still allergic and we had to bring him back. The staff was very responsive and understanding of the situation. We were so greatful with how professional they were in caring not only for the dog, but my daughter's safety. The dog himself was well behaved , well taken care of and was the perfect family dog. That being said, I would be happy to work with PAWS again if we ever wanted to try our luck with a different breed. The staff truly cares for their pets and want to ensure the animals are placed with the right forever home. (My daughter and Freddie)

I enjoyed doing business with them. I adopted a cat from them, and we have been happy. I was happy that they allowed me to visit all the cats.

This is the best animal rescue, they take amazing care of some great animals that might not have a chance otherwise.

Tried coming in to just hang out with the cats. I went in a few days ago and they let me hang out for a couple hours no problems and everyone was really nice. They close there office at 3 so we came in at 2 and they said they’re closing and we can’t see the cats til we’re 24. We’ve been in 2 other times and they said we could come in latest 2:30. Nancy and Sally or Mary not sure were very rude. Over what? It’s a cat rescue it should have such better energy then it did today. The cats need love to. This was completely rude and unfair. Where is the customer service we’re 19 and they talked to us like we are children when all we wanted to do is see some cats. Very upset this ruined my day. We were not planning on adopting! We just wanted some serotonin from the cats for 30 minutes!!! Other than that the cats are well taken care of and so sweet and the staff that were in last time were the nicest people.

Wonderful people, but what true animal lovers are not. Went to a paint event, had a blast and looking forward to going again. Wonderful setup for the cats. They looked content just waiting for their forever home.

P.A.W.S. is an amazing institution. When I met Max, I knew instantly that she was my pup. But I also knew how well she was cared for by the staff and volunteers there. They were kind and caring, and made sure all the adoption loose ends were tied up before we were done. Would recommend to anyone.

Compassion and professional staff the animals are so well cared for. The staff loveseats one of them. The community is very supportive and handles fostering situations. I can't say enough good things about P.A.W.S

I adopted this big girl, Kat, from Paws this week. The staff was wonderful and it’s apparent they truly care for the animals. Kat is the sweetest, snuggliest lap kitty out there. I definitely will be donating to their cause—when I am in need of a new pal again, I will go back here to find another furry companion for sure!

Must be 24 to adopt a kitten? How ridiculous, I already have 1 cat I’ve raised for 2 years . More than capable to adopt. Would not recommend !!

We brought home this sweet girl today and I couldn't be happier with the care and professionalism of the establishment. The owner and volunteers all seemed knowledgeable and it was obvious that they care about each animal. Thank you so much for Poppy. She is settling in wonderfully.

They were so amazing! The kids just wanted to pet the kitties so they let us go in and play with kitties for as long as they wanted! They told us about volunteer opportunities ( they definitely need more volunteers) , how to donate to stgeorgepaws.org , or just bring food to donate for the cats and dogs. They keep the kitties their until they find a home, no one gets "put down" for not getting adopted. I think it costs around $100 to adopt a kitty who is litter box trained, vaccinated & microchipped

I trust them to take real good care of my cat Snickers that I had to give up today. I am so sad but I couldn't take him on my move to Hawaii. I sponsored for him to be adopted, so if you can't afford to adopt him that fee is taken care of.

This place had many people there and still answered my questions. Sorry I was so insistent. The staff was very kind, and I don't think I deserved it.

I went to paws looking to adopt a cat. it was very clean and the animals were getting lots of love. i went home and paid the $10 application fee then later was surprised you have to be 24 or older to adopt. i went in the next day to talk to Lulu and was very dissatisfied with her professionalism and kindness in general. i explained to her that i have a safe and responsible household to raise and love a new kitty. i tried to have a conversation with her and she was very rude and didn’t let me speak. they make it nearly impossible to adopt from them. i went to another shelter and got the purrfect kitten for me and my boyfriend. i won’t be going back or telling anyone else to go there.

It was our first time trying to adopt. I completed the application on line. I called first thing in the morning and was told the dog was still available, but since it was the first day they were open since he was listed she anticipated people would be coming to see him. So, we rushed down there. We were greeted by a very nice women sitting at the side desk. She got the dog for us. We held him, played with him and just fell in love with him instantly. Cutest little thing!!!! The nice lady said the person who would process the application would be right back. 20 minutes later another women showed up. She seemed incredibly annoyed we were there. Im not sure if we interrupted her lunch or if thats just her normal attitude. She informed me there was another person ahead of us coming to see the dog. So, we waited 30 minutes more and No one showed up. If we asked her a few questions she gave us short answers. It seemed to really inconvenience her that we were talking and there. She finally said in a dismissive way “if the other person doesn’t take the dog she would call me” but never once asked for my name. So, I gave the dog back to them and left. I feel like she personality knew the people who were coming to get the dog. I wish she would of just told me on the phone he wasn’t available. I wouldn't of took work off or wasted her time. I hope her animal skills are better then her people skills. Ive always been a supporter of PAWS. I go to their fundraiser events and always share their social media posts. Im extremely disappointed in how were were treated and I hope no one has to go through what we did. I still hope to adopt, but itll be from another shelter unless there is someone else there to process our application.

My name is Gina Cash I want to share my experience that I had with Paws. I must first tell you my little dog a Jack Russle named Beatrice who was 12 yrs old had to be put to sleep in Jan. I was with her until her last heart beat. My Heart was broken into a million pieces and still is. I think of her everyday and the love she brought into my life, and I hope she knows what an honor it was for me to be her mommy. I have been looking for another dog for a bit now hoping the right dog will come along. It doesn't have to have the cutest or most popular breed. Just a dog that needs love and some one they can trust. I had been told to arrive at Paws around 11:00am. There was a dog that I was interested in meeting. While I was there a situation unfolded in front of me; there was a lady having to surrender her dog. The owner and the dog both looked traumatized. It was something that made me say to myself why me, why does this have to unfold like this while I am here? I knew this would stay with me for the next couple of days. In my mind, my heart was breaking for the owner as well as for the sad dog. I asked, are you having to give your dog up? I only wanted to help this owner and thought maybe i could foster the dog or keep the dog for her until her situation changed. I wasn't trying to pry or be disrespectful and maybe I over stepped my bounderies, but not to make this harder on the owner only too offer my help. I got in my car and left drove a mile and something just told me to go back and try one more time to offer to help the destressed owner. Yes it wasn't my business and maybe I went about it the wrong way.... I later told my family I am always trying to find the right dog, a dog that i can love and give a loving home to. Maybe this is why this unfolded in front of me. Maybe this is the dog I am supposed to adopt. When I called back on Monday to check on this dog I was told they had decided to not let me adopt a dog from paws due to me being disrespectful. I was at work at the time so I went into the restroom and cried my eyes out. I deleted every adoptable dog that I had looked at through Paws, wiped my tears, and went back to work. The passing of my own dog is still very raw for me and maybe I over stepped the boundries but it certainly wasn't to hurt or be disrespectful. I things to change, but I feel Paws is missing out on a dog lover who is eager to find the right dog who needs a loving home that will offer stability and 1,000 kisses a day. Just feel better sharing my storey.

I sent in a application and did the fee for $10.00 that was for a donation. Said I would hear back from them in 24-48 hours! That was week ago and haven’t heard back! I wasn’t to impressed with lulu when I called about adoption! Figured she was having a bad day!

We just adopted our first puppy from Dixie Paws and I have to say Lulu and the team were so helpful and wonderful through the process! They clearly care about sending the animals to a great home and are running such a great operation. They get so many adorable puppies so I’d highly suggest following their Facebook or Instagram to see new dogs right away because they get adopted so quick! (we applied to one prior but it was already adopted within hours of it being online). Would love to adopt again from them again! Thanks Dixie Paws.

Adoption is not as easy, nor as inexpensive as it was just a few years ago, but still worth it. The staff here were very friendly and once you get your foot in the door with an appointment, you can see and visit with the available dogs n cats so as to choose the right one or more for you... Don't hesitate if you see something you like and want to meet. This center is aggressive on their adoptions and so the one you saw this morning, could be gone by lunch time. We were very happy with the interview sessiom, where staff made sure we were ready to actually take on a "puppy" instead of an older dog. My only complaint or wish, was that it was easier to get in and see animals faster and not have to wait on the application/appointment process first. FOUR STARS ALL DAY LONG!!!!

Great place to get a dog we got our new puppy and he is doing so well. The staff is very nice and one even gave us directions to the rescue when we got a bit lost on the way there. Would adopt form there again!
