I was surprised that they were able to fit in a check up for my box turtle in only two weeks from my original request. Although there were some issues with my lil' guy, Dr Martinez was very patient and kind in explains to me what needed to …

I was going there during their remodel & saw some crazy animals but this place and its professionalism has gone out the door I kept bringing my iguana in for an examination i kep telling them she needed a tail amputation and a x-ray... they gave me injection for her swollen toes and some ointment for her necrosis tail and over 6 months is just got worse and over the visits I kept requesting an amputation & still they gave me ointment... so I took my iguana VCA mountain view animal hospital and they wer shock they never gave her an amputation we even took the ointment Wasatch gave us and they wer horrendously shock how careless they wer to our iguana.. I will never go back to Wasatch exotic vet... if you don't believe me I'll post receipts on here... now my iguana is healthier since VCA mountain view animal hospital

I called in begging for help with my guniea pig use is dieing and suffering... the staff and vet refused to help because I didnt have 165$. You would thing during the holidays and these times that a true pet care provider wouldn't want a pet to suffer in front of your kids as mine is doing as we speak. Shame on this place. Your supposed to help pets.... but money is more important then helping and doing what's right.

This place came to the rescue for me yesterday when my Guinea pig started showing signs of sickness and being in pain! I called every vet clinic that had exotic vets or could take emergency situations in my area, and I kept getting told that they had no more room for emergencies. But when I called this clinic, they explained that their emergency vet is currently overwhelmed with patients and cannot see my Guinea pig immediately but that they would call me back in an hour to let me know if they had an opening for her. I was on the phone for at least 5, maybe 10 minutes with the lady who answered my call, and she listened carefully and reassured me as I told her what was going on. In the meantime she told me what vets to try contacting. With no luck from other vets, I called this clinic back 3 times to check the emergency vet status. And each time, the lady who answered the phone was so patient and kind, despite my repeated calls. And just a couple hours after my first call, I received word from them that they would be able to squeeze my Guinea pig in. They went over all the pricing with me over the phone before I left to make sure I was aware of the cost and ok with paying it. I really appreciated that. Once getting there, they came right out to get her. Even though I had to stay in my car, they called me throughout her visit to keep me updated and go over additional checks and what their costs would be. The vet who saw her was amazing and called me more than once to go over what he found and explain in detail the causes and how to help going forward. The clinic closed at 6:00, but he was there until 6:45 examining and helping my Guinea pig! And at the end, when I went to pick up my Guinea pig, the lady who was going over the discharge paperwork and medication instructions still had my Guinea pig inside. She said that since we would have to stand out in the cold for a few minutes going over things, she wanted to keep her inside so she could stay warm. I thought that was so thoughtful. Everyone I communicated with at this clinic was accommodating, caring, compassionate, and knowledgeable. I’m so grateful for them fitting my Guinea pig into their tight schedule and staying late for her. She is so much better today thanks to this clinic!

Wasatch Exotic Pet Care took good care of us and our rat in a very unpleasant situation. Our rat's health declined very suddenly and we brought her in to be put to sleep. The staff told us she'd need an emergency exam before they could do that. We brought her to them, they took one look at her and agreed that it was time. Rather than letting her suffer through an exam, they acted with appropriate urgency and mercy to let our poor girl rest. Thank you for your kindness and care in this difficult time.

I've brought my gerbils here for emergencies, appointments, and boarding, and have always received excellent care ????

My sweet little hedgehog had a very urgent situation with a ruptured eye and thankfully Wasatch took her in as an emergency appointment. Everyone from the receptionists to the doctor were so nice and professional. The doctor especially was so compassionate, gave me all the options, took time to talk with me several times, and honestly I feel went above and beyond to care for my little girl! This is my regular vet for her and will continue to be so for the remainder of her life (which hopefully will be many more years thanks to them!).

These guys are great with small animals and very knowledgeable. They are also really good about answering questions over the phone, which has been so helpful on multiple occasions. However, they are often booked out for a month or more. Considering the type of people they serve, this really isn't a practical business model. If I actually need my pet to be seen, I have to take him somewhere else, which isn't ideal for so many reasons. Additionally, they have recently implemented a policy where you have to pay for the appointment in advance due to all of the no-shows they get, which I really don't appreciate. When they don't answer the phone and never have any appointments available, I'm not sure what they expect.

So I called 3-4 weeks ago to setup an appointment for my new rabbit I rescued. Poor thing has had blood in her urine and I just needed a general check up and a quick solution to the issue. I setup an appointment for 11/3 at 9:30 and have patently waited. They never called to confirm appointment I had to call myself today. I was never told it was a drop off appointment. I expected to meet with vet have them examine rabbit answer my questions and if she needed or could get blood work etc and treat her as needed if she had anything wrong with her. Maybe schedule a time later for other services as needed. I told this to them verbally and in via email. To many times animals are neglected on drop off and I have had bad experiences with other vets. Very frustrated if I cancel appointment I will have to wait even longer and research more. In the process of looing for another option. Don't trust this place if they can't communicate properly with customer.

I brought my Quaker in for an emergency visit a week before covid shut everything down. His beak had been bitten by another bird and was severely cracked. The vet herself did a great job of cleaning the wound, glueing the beak, and making sure he could breath. We got the appropriate meds too. The reason for the mediocre rating was the receptionist and the aids were very unprofessional. I had mentioned that I was taking covid very seriously and they literally made fun of me for it. I was already pretty emotional about my bird and their lack of sympathy and professionalism was disturbing. We mentioned it to the vet herself and asked her to relay the message. But it definitely put a sour taste in our mouth for this establishment. Funny thing is now out of the 3 vets I go to for my various animals, they are the only ones that are still not allowing you to go in with your animal. So I guess in the end they decided to take covid seriously after all. For reference I included a pic of my Quakers beak and how it has healed up. Not super pretty but functional and he’s alive! So again the vet was knowledgeable and kind. As was the vet tech, but other staff were rude.

My bearded dragon Gary was starting to show signs of a respiratory infection. The doctors and technicians were so kind to squeeze us into their busy schedules as an emergency visit, and within one day Gary is already showing signs of improvement! I appreciate this little clinic so much, thank you for all you guys do here! Anyone who has exotic pets and is looking for the best vet, this is the one to bring your babies too. Any vet visit is going to cost some money, but that’s what we sign up for when we get exotic babies!! With the improvements Gary has already made, it was worth every penny.

We had an emergency visit today for my daughter’s beardie, Tiny. Tiny was three years old and was paid for and taken care of solely by my 12 yo daughter. Unfortunately, Tiny didn’t make it. The staff explained everything to my daughter, who tried her best to put on a brave face. They explained that Tiny died due to an aggressive form of cancer, but was otherwise healthy. My daughter felt so much better knowing that she couldn’t have done anything and that she had taken good care of them. She won’t have to live with the guilt/worry that she had done something to cause his death. The staff was beyond kind, caring, and patient. They placed Tiny in a box with a pink blanket, and gave us a card with his footprint. I wouldn’t have thought to do that until it was too late. My daughter — and my family are forever grateful for their kindness during our moment of grief. They truly went above and beyond and I would highly recommend anyone to have the privilege of working with these amazing people. Before we got home, they called to say they had refunded the fee to our card for the emergency visit (without even being asked to do so). We didn’t feel rushed, didn’t feel like just another number, and honestly felt they truly cared.

EDIT: Amy was very helpful and helped us out accordingly, the check up with my guinea pigs went well and they are very informative and helpful. They take good care of your animals I had an appointment scheduled. From the beginning of this month. I got a call on Saturday about the appointment asking to come in today. When I got ahold of someone there, I forgot her name, she was very rude and didn’t take into consideration that this was literally their systems fault. She was asking to pay more money, because it’s an “emergency”, but in the voicemail Emma said they’d just use the 115 that was already in my account. I did nothing wrong to get this kind of disrespect. The lady we were talking to just hung up on us and kept interrupting us when we were trying to explain our situation. I’m attaching a screenshot of the voicemail. Very unprofessional.

Good place. They helped me with my green iguana and he had an abscess, but they gave him antibiotics and recommended some High nutrient rich food for him. Thanks to their help he has made a full recovery and I'm very grateful.

They tried to over charge me for procedures we didn't need, knowing that I was fairly new to this animal and it's issues. They knew how much I loved her, how worried and scared I was, and that I couldn't afford what they were asking. They also knew what they were telling me was very grim and scary. They ALSO told me that they were "absolutely in love with her", and then offered to keep her of I couldn't afford what they were asking and wanting to do, and it was a LOT of pressure presented as though that was my only other option. Turns out, this issue was fairly common in these animals and all she needed was an antibiotic, and a little pain medication,... and it resolved on it's own! They literally tried to overcharge, scare, and TAKE MY PET FROM ME. I couldn't believe it. Being an exotics vet and having staff that actually does special work with this particular animal, they should have known that they could give me different options and should have given me ALL of the information. They are also more on the expensive end, and less available. So, since then I have tried to avoid going there as much as I can if I ever have an exotic pet emergency

I was super nervous to just drop my bunny off and not be able to go in with her to her 1st appt. The staff was absolutely wonderful and the doctor was very thorough on the phone and didn't rush through, giving plenty of time for explanations etc. Would definitely recommend!

This Dr can skate by on everyday check ups, looking at a pet & "say it's fine" but when healing or something serious, something real happens to your pet this crew will fail & lie & charge you to watch your pet die. Then they will blame & demean you & yell at you because of their own inadequacies at their job. Shame on you, I'd rather Stallen treat my pets than these people. Gah!

I came here over 1 year ago because my guinea pig was seriously injured but sadly we had to put him down but they were so supportive and kind they even gave me a letter with his foot prints and it was so kind of them to do that I recommend them for any of ur exotic pets :)!

This was the best vet we've been to for one of our snakes. They were able to get our garter snake in quickly and taught us how to give him a shot to treat his RI then let us know we could bring him in every 3 days if we were unable to give it to him ourselves. I was especially impressed that they sent him home with a care sheet just so we could fine tune his enclosure. Overall we truly appreciated that we were able to take our snake to a ver that knows how to treats exotics.

Very nice people and very kind on the phone. The only thing I don't like is that we can't go in with our animals.

Unfortunately, we lost a budgie parakeet that had been purchased at Petco the week previous. Because birds hide illness, by the time we saw that she was alarmingly ill, we were gently informed that she had very little chance of recovery. Nevertheless, they did all they could for her and the vet herself kindly informed me of Streudel's passing in a careful and considerate manner. All the staff were excellent to deal with and we would definitely visit here again though, of course, I hope it won't be necessary.

I took my baby bunny to get her RHDV2 vaccine/microchip/general health exam. They got me im quickly, called on Monday requesting an appt for Friday and they had availability. I was impressed with their thoroughness, they asked my about her history, and how she's been at home. Answered all my concerns and questions, being a new bunny mom to 2 new rabbits, i want to know accurate information, and they offered me print outs of poper care for rabbits, gave me grooming advice, and offered some digestive support tabs when i expressed concerns about injesting too much hair to prevent GI stasis. I will definitely be back for future rabbit care. Thank you guys! And thank you to the reception staff for being patient with me when i called to schedule, reschedule and then schedule for the same day i scheduled for cuz i had to shuffle plans around to get her in asap lol they were kind and patient with my cracy scheduling ????????

I took my bird here because to me he seemed sick. They didnt let me go in but we left him there a while till they told us to come back. Lady brought him out to me and couldnt answer a single question about him. She said the person who would know was busy. All she said was that he is fine and theres nothing to worry about. My baby died a week later. Im honestly in doubt that they even looked at him. This was about two years ago but I still miss him, thanks for nothing.

Our bunny got neutered and microchipped. He was well cared for and is recovering nicely. My only complaints are covid-19 related - which they can't help. We were unable to go in for our visit. They did call multiple times to update us, so that was nice. Well be back for his vaccine or if the birds or snake need a doctor.
