The Vets and vet techs are amazing. But I just had my dogs pain medication thru Chewy cancelled because they didn't send it thru. I called VCA everyday and talked to different receptionists and they either said they would look for the order and the most recent said yes they had it and they would send it over. Now my dog has gone days without it because the follow thru was not good. I now have to wait 5 business days for the money to get back on my account from the cancelled order and had to resubmit an order so I am out double the money until it goes thru and the price went up at chewy on my dogs pills. This has been a horrible experience. I am not impressed. Terrible customer service

I literally cannot believe how amazing this clinic is. I took my rat in for surgery to have a mass removed and Dr. Kim knew exactly what she was talking about which is pretty rare inmy experience when it comes to pet rats as they are considered exotic animals. She gave me very detailed information about the surgery process and she reassured me that she had done many of these surgeries in the past and they were successful (it’s always scary when your pet has to get put under as they can’t regulate their body temps like humans can, especially a tiny rat!). After the surgery she called me herself to tell me how it went and how my rat was doing and gave me a time to come and pick her up. She gave me detailed instructions of how to care for my rat post surgery. She also sent me home with a long sheet of neatly typed out instructions for the medicine, potential side effects to watch out for, what my rat may act like after the surgery, how to spot if she is in pain, the list goes on and on. She even gave me a call a couple of days later to check up on me and my rat to make sure everything was ok! The cost of the surgery and all the medication was over $100 lower than she had originally quoted me as well which is always a nice surprise. The front desk staff and the vet tech that helped me were also very friendly and kind throughout the entire process. I can’t recommend this clinic and Dr. Kim enough.

I’m genuinely shocked by all the good reviews. People left and right are claiming the opposite of our experience. Once this place was taken over by VCA we saw a number of systemic changes. They’re a money making machine now! Every visit has costs that has nothing to do with why we were there. They showed zero communication about the costs we were incurring throughout the visit and it was like they were sneaking things into the bill. I’m glad people are talking care of their pets but this place will do that while they take you to the cleaners. We’ve since found a wonderful new vet with much better transparency. I suppose my experience means nothing to people who can afford exaggerated vet bills so if this place is close and convenient I can definitely say they’ve always taken care of our pets but if you can’t swallow letting them tack extra $$ throughout the visit then I’d be very wary. It's now been a couple years since I first left this review. Today my pup and I had to come back to WCPC as he was in need and I couldn't find an open appointment anywhere else. They immediately asked if they could run a cytology to help determine what treatment would be best. I agreed and they took him in the back. Later they returned with my beautiful boy and had already administered a cleaning, a steroid, and a dose of medicine. Which means they had already tacked on hundreds of dollars worth of services without my knowledge or consent. She could see my shock as I looked at the bill so she told me that I was lucky because I was able to get in on such short notice and otherwise it would have been double for an "Emergency" appointment. Thanks Willow Creek for reminding me what corporate policy looks like. You guys tarnish an industry of heroes and I hope you realize that people can love their pets to edge of the universe and back and still not want to be billed hundreds of dollars every time they need some help.

If I can give 0 star I will for Jeanghwa Kim. VCA you better hire better vets if you give s*** about customers !!! They care about the money period

Dr. Ahlstrom and Dr. Walters are fantastic, and the techs are always so kind and patient with my mean kitty cat.

Back in august of 2020, two baby rabbits were brought into my care. They were too young to be away from mom. One of the rabbits, a girl named Littlefoot, was really small and losing a lot of her fur quickly. I took Littlefoot to 5 different vets before I found Dr Ahlstrom. Dr Ahlstrom was able to figure out what was wrong, more than “malnutrition” like the other vets said. She got meds for Littlefoot that day, and she immediately started getting better. Jump forward to Oct 2021… Littlefoot’s brother and litter mate, Spike, ended up with GI stasis. I called around to so many emergency vets in the middle of the night - none of which taking in rabbits. I was able to get Spike in with Dr Ahlstrom early the next morning. She was so kind, so gentle and so understanding of both the stress on Spike and on me. She has been nothing but helpful for me and my bunnies, and I’m 99.99% positive that if it weren’t for Dr Ahlstrom… my bunnies wouldn’t be here, and be as healthy as they are. We are eternally grateful for Dr Ahlstrom and the Willow Creek team

My little dog had an eye issue and the doctor was so gentle and knowledgeable about her condition. She is on the mend, and because she is 12 and 1/2 she will have continuing issues with her eyes. I will continue to go back to this vet.

For cats, this place and the vets are very kind and have the most awesome care! However, some of the front staff come off as a bit condescending and rude. I appreciate the work they do and the stress they are under dealing with distraught owners, but that's exactly the point. Being rude to owners who are worried (I have both experienced this in person and over the phone) really worsens and doesn't help either party. I think it would be great to re-train or reach out to the front team to just be a bit kinder because just as we don't know how their day has been, they don't know how the people coming in have been or is going through. Besides that, I do love this clinic (just be prepared to have tough skin)!

We have a peach faced parrot that we thought was not doing very well. It is difficult to find an avian vet in this valley but low and behold VCA Willow Creek Pet Center said they have one. My wife called to make an appointment to have him looked at and possibly be euthanized if need be. We had an appointment with Dr. Olstrum at 9:00 This morning for a quality of life check. The receptionist was very kind and took us back to the examination room where we waited for twenty five minutes before anyone came in to see us. Finally someone named Amber came in to get our little bird and euthanize him. We said wait a minute, we would like to have him looked at by the vet! She then said the vet is not accepting new patients. Talk about a dysfunctional operation they are running here. We came under the premise we could see the vet, but this was not to be. My wife is completely heart broken over this. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this place for your pets. They seem to only care if you have a dog or cat but not other pets. I can see why there are so many negative reviews!

We just moved to Utah with our two fur babies that are our whole world. We did a bunch of research looking for a place to board our pups that would be able to accommodate their special needs and keep them safe and happy. VCA was the only place that offered everything we needed. Our boy is on am/pm medication and is quite the worrier, and our girl is also on medication and is not dog friendly with many other personality challenges. Our pups were safe, happy, got their medication as needed and overall enjoyed their stay. We got the TLC package and the daily updates were just what I needed to keep my worries at bay. We picked them up and they were happy and loved the kennel techs that brought them out to us. After we got home they settled right into their routine and took great naps. They are clean and in great spirits. Amazing experience, highly recommended for the nervous pup parent unsure about boarding their babies. ???? ????

Our dog incurred facial paralysis during a routine teeth cleaning. We have written to the Medical Director describing our anguish at what appears to be permanent facial damage to our beloved collie. After a week we have received no response from VCA. Specifically, 1) Damage to the facial nerve which occurred during routine dental cleaning. Note that this damage may result in permanent paralysis for the remainder of our dog's life. 2) Inadequate assessment upon recovery from anesthesia and patient discharge wherein complete facial paralysis was not noted. Note that the facial paralysis was not noted by VCA and this incompetence in evaluation lead to substantial delay in treatment which significantly reduced possibility of nerve recovery and exacerbated the possibility of eye damage. 3) Once our dog was returned to the facility for a follow-up with facial paralysis as a concern, he was not evaluated by a veterinarian for over 5 hours. Again, this substantial delay in evaluation and treatment significantly reduced possibility of nerve recovery and exacerbated the possibility of eye damage. 4) Lack of long-term follow up or treatment plan. After administration of steroids, the only treatment option suggested by Dr. Ahlstrom at VCA was tarsorrhaphy and then wait for improvement. There must be a better treatment option than sewing Odin’s eye shut and hoping for the best, but no follow up treatment plan has been discussed. We asked Dr. Ahlstrom if we should bring Odin in for another assessment, and she said no not unless we think his eye is infected. She said there is not much else that can be done.

I’d never recommend Willow creek pet center to anyone. When I was young, my family dog was boarded there. Came home with a huge bruise on her tummy and died within a couple days.

Don’t have the smartest bunch of people there and they drag your dog by the neck instead of using the correct harnesses…. Horrible place and over $150 a night for nothing special… USE Rover

My one star review is only for the VCA Willowcreek CareClub membership. You pay $45.00 a month for unlimited visits, but... they only allot a certain amount of CareClub visits to be scheduled which puts them weeks out. Typically if you need to see a vet, you can't wait weeks. We pay $45.00 a month and they don't reduce any of the $120.00 bill to seen. You pay an additional $120.00 on top of your $45.00 monthly fee or wait weeks to get your animal help. Do not sign up for this plan. Even though it helped with shots over the first year, we would have paid less out of pocket.

Dumb and Dumber

After MANY years, thousands of dollars, and trusting with MANY family members - (3 Shih Tsu’s all lived long lives, 15-17 yrs, until 6 years ago when we said goodbye to our last!). Now finally new pup, and recent attempt to keep the Appt to bring our outdoor neighbor’s cat who adopted us, in for her Sched apt to get vaccinations, but of course of all mornings she’s missing. It seemed more inconvenient and stressful for WC policies, and message from Front Desk! Advised to rebook "yes even if hard to predict as policy after 30 min window requiring resched Appt! “ Clearly seems they are struggling to keep clients! Many other less than positive reviews about customer service - even in "emergency" as just not available or willing to get out of the box! You can't even call without getting put on hold; message is "consistent!" The message today was "all VETs too busy with COVID increasing the number of pets people have." Do the VETS have a voice left at all here, any flexibility? Tech even if it is just a question on getting a couple of vaccinations! News Flash - seems other clinics have figured out how to maintain a caring approach to maintain their patients???? I feel bad for the good doctors there trying to make a difference, while adhering to the managed care approach, not having any control over the message your front line is delivering, and your "rules." You still have a few great Doctors there - (hold on to Dr. Barney) It won't be long before you lose them! There are more clinics out there! Just SAD to see you lose those with patients right in your backyard/same community, and to lose your reputation! Check your reviews!! Ps Even booking a grooming Appt seemed like they are just too busy - to be interested in making Appt for new puppy (after speaking w- grooming Mgr. Who was helpful, satisfied desk required copies of complete vaccinations prior to booking” but they added ONE more they required (NEVER heard of it before! Asked another trusted VET, as never required on any of my dogs?! Not requested in any other bookings! And, not Part of new puppy routine vaccinations “Vet might consider shot “if boarding;” Just seems like more hoops, $$’s keeping you from bringing business there? And, I really wanted to stay with Grooming there, but finding others (none requesting influenza shot).

I really want to like this place and have taken my dog here several times. They are right down the street. Unfortunately, I've had a few experiences here that have made me decide not to leave my pet's health in their care, which I'll detail below. The vets themselves are non informative and don't seem to be very good at their jobs. Overall the whole clinic exhibits a lack of care in their quality of work, lazy behavior and general disorganization. I won't be putting my dog's health in their hands again. I don't think they are competent and they come off pushy and rude. They are getting two stars because I think their puppy preschool trainers are very friendly and do good a job. It's a fine daycare but a poor quality health facility. I took my dog for a stay and play evaluation which I had an appointment for. The receptionist was very dismissive and told me to go around back. I got to the back and the person there said they have no techs available and wouldn't answer any questions. They took my dog and told me to wait in the car which I thought was strange. Then they brought my dog back out and sent me a text to pay for services. Turns out instead of doing a stay and play they gave my dog an immunization she didn't need because she already had it. And I had to then, in addition to paying for the unnecessary immunization, pay for the stay and play and bring my dog back a different day. Later, I called to ask if I should make an appointment because my dog was acting lethargic since the previous night. The receptionist told me to bring my dog in for emergency care. I was alarmed but decided to do as they advised. When I got there the receptionists were rude and acted as though I were there for no reason. They asked me who I had spoken to and asked me again, condescendingly, if I'd brought my dog in for an emergency because she was lethargic. I wouldn't have if they hadn't told me to. But they then proceeded to charge me 130 dollars for an emergency visit that clearly none of us felt my dog needed but one of them had advised me to get.

My wife took our dog in because he has been sick the past few days. Dr. Simmons saw him. She was condescending towards my wife and gave her a huge attitude. My wife left feeling horrible because of the way she was treated. In addition, they got on us about not having our dog boarded at their facility. I tried boarding my dog there, but they were completely full. They last time we boarded our dog there, he came home with what appeared to be pink eye. Also, the soonest appointments available are 3 to 4 weeks out, unless its an emergency. In that case, they charge you $95.00 just to see your dog. We will finding somewhere else to take our dog from now on.

we are very disappointed with Willow Creek pet center. We boarded our dog for a week and made sure he had all of the necessary vaccinations in order to stay at the pet center. After being home for a few days, he started spitting up mucus. This required 2:00 A.M. emergency room vet visit where he was diagnosed with kennel cough. I was told there are up to 50 dogs for the stay and play. we were never able to see where the dogs were boarded when sleeping. I would not expect this to happen, especially for $50 a day. I do not recommend this place!

If you care about your dog don’t come here. We had a litter of puppies here, now they’re dead. We were given the option of a Saturday or a Tuesday to complete a C-section. If she was to go into labor between those days, we would have to go an ER for an emergency C-section. Most ER’s do not do emergency c-sections unless we were lucky enough to find one that had a vet on the clock. With that in mind, we were given no realistic option since they were unable to accommodate the emergency C- section themselves. On top of that we were quoted $900 for the procedure and we were charged $1235. After we paid and ran into complications due to a lack of milk being produced, since they were pulled early, we begged for help and advise. We blew up their phones and emails begging for medication, formula, or anything in the world that would help us. The vet and his team refused to let us speak to Dr.Barney over the phone and said he would only respond to emails. To a big surprise there’s a huge lag in the response time. Since a puppy without nutrition will live forever, we finally found a dog to foster our pups to get them the nutrition needed. Unfortunately by this time it was too late and now they are dead. Thank you for caring about your animals, seems like you just really wanted our money, then write us off. I hope this saves future customers a lot of money, and the lives of their dogs. I’ve never been so disappointed in vet so much in my life. Thanks for taking my money. Consider a line of work that doesn’t have lives at stake.

Normally I would not give Willow Creek a bad review. I take my pets there for care, boarding, and grooming. Walked in to pick up my cat today and they made me wear a mask. I followed the rules and put the mask on even though I hate masks, plus I have been fully vaccinated from Covid. Here is the thing that upset me greatly and may put into question if I use this place again. Multiple employees were not wearing a mask either behind the desk or even walking around. I brought this to their attention and they gave me an oh well attitude. Very unprofessional. I would hope for an apology.

I have been coming to Willow Creek pet center for about 10 years. I have 2 cats and and they have both have health issues. It takes a lot of stress off my shoulders knowing that the vets and staff will do everything possible to keep my pets healthy and happy. I would definitely recommend Willow Creek pet center to anyone looking for a high quality vet for a reasonable price. Our vet, Dr. Simmons is very knowledgeable and treats her patients as if they were her own. She is very patient and takes the time to explain everything going on with your pet and makes sure your comfortable with the treatment and how to administer the medications. I couldn’t be happier with Willow Creek and there staff.

Willow Creek Pet center has been our go to vet for over 30 years. They have cared for our various dogs and cats and maybe a gerbil. We have attended their Puppy classes and obedience classes and even an agility class. We have taken our dogs there for grooming as well as boarding. Yesterday our 13 year old Labradoodle collapsed at home and we could not get her up. I called Willow creek to bring her in and was told they had no more emergency appointments and to take her somewhere else. I was stunned. I did not think I would need to make an appointment for an Emergency! 30 + years and a few thousand dollars. So much for a caring family vet. Cottonwood Animal Hospital got us right in and sadly discovered a tumor on her spleen that was bleeding. At 13 years old we did not feel that kind of surgery was in her best interest. So , we had to say good ye to our good dog Lucy. On her 13th birthday. At this time I don’t know if we will get another pet, but if we do, we will be finding a new vet. I don’t feel they even deserve 1 star. So disappointed.

I just want to thank Marissa for always taking care of our fur babies. She is the only groomer we trust and have been taking both our dogs to her for years! We appreciate your hard work and skills. Marissa is patient with our little Scottish terrier mix who likes to nip sometimes. From the bottom of our hearts, we are grateful for the care you take with our babies.

I wish I never took my dog here! Please protect your dog/ animals from the groomer named Marissa here! Not only was the grooming uneven, BOTH of my boys had multiple deep cuts in their skin after seeing her. And come to find out she was more busy making videos for her tiktok instead of focusing on my living animals! I’m disgusted and feel betrayed. I wish they would pick better staff but since they don’t care about letting this happen, I will no longer support this establishment. I have been taking my boys to a trustworthy place called Healty Pets Salt Lake City and I love it! Trust is big.

I'm really disappointed in the quality of their grooming service. I brought both my pets (a cat and a dog) to them two weeks ago to get groomed. When we got them home, we noticed my cat wasn't behaving like he normally does. he wouldn't jump up to his normal spots around the house, even with the promise of treats or food. After some investigation we found that almost every single nail had been cut way too short, and all 4 paw pads were bright red and really inflamed. When I scheduled the appointment I had let them know he can be tempermental and may need to be sedated. When they called to tell me he was ready they said "he was actually great, no sedation was needed! He was so terrified, he didn't even move!" which I don't think is really a great thing to say to the owner. I called the next day to let them know what was going on and see if I could get him in to be seen. They wanted $125 for an "emergency" visit even though they were the ones who hurt him in the first place! So I cancelled the appointment. Someone from their office called me back that day and told me the grooming manager would be reaching out that following Monday. That was a week ago and I still haven't heard anything back from them. I wont be taking my pets back there again. Which sucks cause I was super excited to have them somewhere I was told was so awesome! I guess that's what happens when vets go corporate. Pets are nothing but a dollar sign to them anymore.
